Drawing Attention #2

Continuing to expand my knowledge and discover comics on The Duck that I had previously let slip by me, last week I found something amazing. A comic that seems low down in the ranking of it's genre. A comic that has only 10 Likes (including me) at time of writing. But astonishingly, a comic that has previously been Featured!

Last time out I chose a comic called Boys Land (Go read it!) and decided after enjoying that, I would seek out another manga inspired comic. The one I found was Grunk. Now I'll be honest here…this comic is not my sort of thing…BUT…the artwork is absolutely phenomenal. It is a truly professional looking manga comic that would not look out of place on a comic shelf.

I buy graphic novels mostly for the art nowadays. For example, I really don't like the Suicide Squad comic. Don't enjoy the characters. Don't enjoy the stories. But the last couple of runs were by two of my favourite artists (Jim Lee & JRJR), so I absolutely will be buying those books. I will get as much enjoyment admiring great artwork as I will reading a great story.

There are comics on The Duck that are not the greatest drawn, but the story is solid, so I will enjoy it. Grunk is the other way for me. Yes, the story may not be my thing, but I can appreciate great Art.

The story centres around a grumpy creature as he tries to find his way through a hostile and strange world. At the present, everything is still very much a mystery, but as I have said enough already, the expressions of the characters and the dynamic hand drawn effects of the artwork are stunning!

So there you have all reason you need to check out Grunk!
