Let's join hands and collaborate!

A great way to get eyes on your work is to form collaborations with other creators. Collaborations are not only an effective way to promote your comic to new readers, but they also help build a sense of community amongst other comic creators. Here are some examples of collaborations to help get those creative juices flowing!

Create an anthology
An anthology is a collection of works that focus on a theme. One shots work perfectly for this type of collaboration, allowing creators to show off their creative chops to various audiences. The length of the one shots is up to the group to decide but an effective anthology should give creators an equal amount of space for their contribution.

Plan a group illustration
These are great for larger groups of creators but a group illustration can work no matter how many people there are. Again, having a theme ties together the elements of the work and it can push you to think of your characters in a different setting. Planning this type of collaboration around an event such as the Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day or Easter is a neat way of connecting with your audience as well.

Organise an event
The Drunk Duck Beauty Pageant is a fantastic example of a community run event here on the The Duck. The Duck also hosts the annual Drunk Duck Awards and Christmas Swap. These types of events are a great way to build the community spirit. Not only do I encourage you to participate in them but also think about what new ones we can add!
