We are well into the second half of the year, spring is here in the southern hemisphere, whilst the autumn winds are settling in for winter in the north. With the change in seasons, what better time to get inspired and motivated than now and you know what that means? Time to get your goals into gear! So, in this article, I will be going through yet another way that you can set effective and achievable goals.

Focus on setting quarterly goals
Quarterly goal setting is the standard for most businesses. It’s the perfect time frame for outlining what you want to achieve as three months allows you to plan for unexpected bumps in the road. It also allows you to segment your yearly goals into more manageable bites. Set a goal that is quantifiable, trackable and achievable. For instance, you could set a goal of drawing 50 pages in three months. The quantifiable factor is the number of pages, the number of pages you draw is trackable and the end result, 50 pages, is achievable.

Set a good amount of goals
Think of all the things you want to achieve and write them down. Try to get between 20-25 down on the page. Keep in mind, this list is specific for you. You can include business and personal goals as well as habits you might want to work on. Get into the mindset that you want to “win” that quarter. Now, this doesn’t mean you need to complete them all to win. Rather, aim to achieve at least half. That means that by the end of three months you would have achieved 10 things you set out to complete.

Keep the list on you
Be that in a planner or a note on your phone, keep the list with you. Remember these are things that you want to do to make your projects more efficient or goals that will improve your quality of life. Plan your week based on the goals you want to achieve and be mindful of your energy levels. The idea is to keep you moving forward without leading to too much stress.

And there you have it! Do you set goals for your comics? How often do you achieve what you set to do? Let us know in the comment section below! And join us on Sunday evening for our Quackchat at 5:30PM(EST)!
