What Color Are You Feeling Today?

kawaiidaigakusei at Aug. 23, 2021, midnight

Colors have the ability to impact our moods, so being highly conscientious of the colors in nearby surroundings is important.

Although not always evident, color moods can be reflected in fashion selections because the human eye is drawn to specific colors subliminally when selecting outfits.

The color scheme of my personal fashion wardrobe has gone through very subtle changes over the last decade. These specific color schemes reflected my mood at various periods of growth.

It started with a Monochromatic black, white, and grayscale color scheme as a basic wardrobe. It was during this time that contrasting patterns made a big difference in deciding outfits. The simplicity of colors allowed more time to decide on materials such as cotton or wool.

After about one year of wearing only black, white, and gray, I added variations of yellow as an accent color. Mustard, buttercream, eggshell, and soft ecru were major staples.

Eventually, Mint, burnt orange, aquamarine, and dusty rose began to sneak in, adding accents after accents.

In the present day, I gravitate to natural, plant-based fibers (linen, cotton, raffia, burlap) and the color swatches are very soft and restful on the eyes.

Colors are the easiest way to uplift a mood naturally, so what Color are You Feeling, today?
