We Are on Mastodon! JOIN US

So it's pretty wild on Twitter lately, and people are abandoning ship. Or at least, they're making sure there's another boat to jump to in case the ship sinks.

And that is where Mastodon comes in. This open source social media network is gaining popularity by the day, and honestly, I can see why. I've been on it for less than two weeks and already the interaction I've gotten is of higher quality, frequency, and enjoyment than anything I'd experienced on Twitter for a while.

Especially when it comes to art, Mastodon seems to be the ideal place. There are instances (the servers catering to people with similar interests) dedicated to art or comics. So if you're considering joining, make sure you join one of those rather than the big ones blowing up these days- the big ones are also relatively generic and potentially poorly moderated as of now.

Personally I would recommend for everyone to join yesterday. It's an easy learning curve and there are a lot of people happy to help you out and even happier to meet you and see your art.

Drunk Duck is already on Mastodon and I'm the one that runs it as I do with the Twitter one. You can find us on @drunkduck@mastodon.art (search us once you make your account). The DD Mastodon account for now works as it does in Twitter. We boost (aka retweet) your updates, there's the quackchat (only it happens on Monday because I can't stay up late to release it real time with the Twitter one), and there's boosting of interesting webcomic related accounts.

However soon, as I get more familiar with Mastodon and its culture, I will be working the DD Mastodon account to have more content than that. I'll be announcing what here in newsposts and in the forum.
