THURSDAY FEATURE --> Shell Shock

ozoneocean at 12:00AM, April 19, 2012

Norman Driscoll is a damaged old guy, having suffered some bad experiences during the Vietnam war, unfortunately his current situation isn't helping him out much… lately the city and the community seems to have gone to crap- violent gangs controlling the streets attacking people with impunity, what's a ...

Massive milestones and A 2012 DD Radio Play Proclamation!

skoolmunkee at 5:34AM, March 7, 2012

shaneronzio's CROSS WORLDS NEXXUS has reached the 1600 page milestone! I am suitably impressed!

royduncan100's Saturday Morning (his newest project) and V.N.D. (a straight-through, no-ads backissue of Villain Next Door) have both reached the 50 pages mark! He's also done a cover for the 2012 ...

Monday feature -> El Comikaze

skoolmunkee at 12:01AM, Feb. 20, 2012

How to describe El Comikaze? I'm not really sure! You don't see many comics like this one around. It's a strange, colorful “freeform” comic, almost a stream-of-consciousness thing. Ostensibly it depicts a dream, which accounts for much of the weirdness and metamorphoses. It's not quite nonsensical ...

THURSDAY FEATURE --> Glass Hearts

ozoneocean at 3:03AM, Jan. 26, 2012

Glass Hearts is a true soap opera comic of huge scope. The author, Star_samurai, describes the genre and theme more knowledgeably than I possibly could:
“Shounen-ai & soft yaoi / angst / romance / comedy/humor After two years, a 16-year-old Charlie McDermott returns to his hometown and to his previous friends. Many things have changed, some things haven't. Old wounds will resurface, and new wounds will possibly appear as well. This isn't just a love story. This is a struggle to survive. A struggle to find an identity.”
This is a massive story, and as a bonus you have TWO versions of it to read- the original version and the new improved ...

Monday Feature -> Monster Soup

skoolmunkee at 12:01AM, Dec. 19, 2011

Soup is a nice food- it's made of lots of yummy things all put together and simmered to make a nourishing meal. This comic seems to be shaping up rather like that- several main characters have been introduced, seemingly unrelated but with similar situations. The story is a bit ...

QUACKCAST Episode - 55 Genres revisited

ozoneocean at 8:55AM, Dec. 13, 2011

LISTEN!

My attractive assistant Skoolmunkee agreed to another guest appearance in order to re-adress this topic.
I asked people about their favourite webcomic genres, why they like them and what makes them so cool and interesting, whether it's the genre they like to read or create in. The genres ...

THURSDAY FEATURE --> Coney island Disco Palace

ozoneocean at 12:00AM, Sept. 29, 2011

Coney island Disco Palace is a hilarious humour comic! Created by Josfern, he describes it as “an exercise in absurdity. Contains: Zombies, dinosaurs, and abundance of mustaches, slam dancing Abe Lincoln, poop jokes, fantastically ugly people and everything in between! Sure to delight, offend or Amuse!” and he's pretty ...

PIT_FACE, new Comic Awards, Radio Play, DD Awards, milestones!

skoolmunkee at 10:10AM, Sept. 23, 2011

Our resident firefighter PIT_FACE has a brash, rough-around-the-edges image (her comic PUTRID MEAT certainly helps that along!) but she's been an enduring example of the community spirit here on DD. She's been around for what seems like ages, full of humor and surprisingly sage advice, and somehow makes ...

El Cid, DD Radio Play, Quackcast, and DD Awards Voting!

skoolmunkee at 7:23AM, Sept. 21, 2011

El Cid's avatar is a little spooky, and his main comic Death Porn could be described as infamous (as well as very popular), but don't be fooled! El Cid is a man who knows what he likes, and he seems to like being super nice and helpful. I ...
