SS4 100 Sarah returns home

  I noticed several people congratulated us on winning awards last page but I spent 15 mins clicking on links and listening to a barely listenable podcast and all I can gather is that Death Porn is sweeping the awards and we have two for best backgrounds  and dialogue so far. I really wanted to see the preentations though as I know some were very good and one involved Nikki but I'm damned if I can find them.  Thanks to all who voted of course anyway :)
  Lots of nice thoughts and opinions on Stacey wanting to have the baby, last week, which was nice. I know when I was in my teens we used to hear this expression banded about a lot 'you can't always blame the parents!' which is true to an extent if the child mixes with a bad lot at school for example where the parents lose access to them. But I think we are all well aware now too, that neglect at home causes severe problems in a child whether the family is very rich or very poor.
    All children need to be cared for and feel loved during their early years to feel secure as well as having a good role model of some kind whose behaviour they can emulate, so in a case like Stacey's where she has had a very bad role model and a very unstable home life she will lack a lot of natural parenting skills that most children will have picked up from observing their parents. It is very likely that Stacey's mum herself has had a pretty bad childhood and saw her treatment of Stacey as normal. The nice thing about following Stacey in the next chapter will be to see how her upbringing affects her relationship with her own daughter and how she unwittingly fails her daughter even though she is tries really hard to be a better mother than her own was. The one big plus in her life will be that both Sarah and Gerry too now,  will be able to drop in and support her.
  I wrote last week that there was about 50 pages left and I was shocked as we seem so close to the end of this chapter. I looked at my script notes again and saw that my system of using post-it type notes to sort out the chronological order of events was being read as one event per page when in fact several ideas often end up on the same page, so I think it's more like 30 pages to go which still sound a lot!  *slumps*
