… had trouble with the dialogue, had more to say but no room to put it, and I went over it a few times because it was just…horrible. Does anyone read these notes ever? I'm getting the impression a lot of people don't…

Anyway if anyone is wondering, this is true, Robert planned to have Charby replace him when he retired (though not for a long time) but he didn't intend to tell him about it until the time. For the most part, he was just buying time and distracting Charby by talking to him, while his real aim was to grab the sword on his dresser (which you can see the handle of in the big panel) He's not above pretending to beg in the interest of decieving the enemy.
And yes, Captain Rob was Charby's teacher too, he taught him to speak and fight, though of course for all he knew about fighting, he could never be physically capable of taking on his tormentors until recently.
So basically, Charby was his exeriment to make the perfect pirate, looks like it backfired, eh?
