Sorry the order is a little weird.
Daray thought that guy was talking to him
(never heard of a cellphone)
Also, a good point was brought up, Daray did mention a camera in one of the early episodes, they do indeed have some technology (including black and white photography) but they don't have anything that requires electricity.

Also for the can of gas he had, something that was left in the shed from the previous residents of the cabin. He's too poor to afford to buy that ^_^
