I concur with json. Wipe his hard drive away go the pictures. Or you can do a premeptive strike and post them yourself and say it's no big deal. Better yet take the better, flattering and tasteful pictures and post them. His threat then becomes irrelevant. Turn it around on him. Threatening a nude figure model with nude pictures is ridiculous. Artistic expression?

The "so what?" defense often works in cases like this. You can't blackmail someone who doesn't care about the supposed sensitive material getting out.

Then have a hacker wipe his hard drive and for the right amount of money I can supply a crazed individual who will do him bodily harm.

All our hopes and prayers are with you that this works out the best for you.

Well, if I see some I'll tell you, but I probably won't.

The bright side of this is that it will probably bring a little extra traffic to your site, although maybe not the kind of traffic you want.

Json.
He's got the right idea.
If you did that you could email him back like "hello, If you have any computer problems, it was me. :D"

Bravo doesn't have a bad one either.

but i make no promises on not saving if i think it's a pose i'd want to copy in an art piece later.
That still comes across as pretty creepy. Even if you're going to do something like that, you don't have to tell everybody.

agreed, show some respect. you want naked pics, there's plenty of other places unless she gives you permision. i dont care what you're planning on using em for, dont exploit the situation.

i'm also with Json's idea.kinda wish he woulda PQ'd you with it though, i mean if anything happens, couldn't it be traceable back to him now, being on a public forum? i want this douche to eat his fuckin supper, but no one wants to see the good guys go down too.

Oh, believe me. It is a crummy pose. No artistic value there.

I wish I could provide you guys with more details, but I need to keep some things a secret for now for legal reasons. I'll regale you all with the details later, when I can.

And thanks everyone for the help. It means a LOT to me.

I kind of like Json's suggestion. Unfortunately it might bring you more problems than it's worth.

If he was able to hack your email I'd hate for him out of revenge of getting him back, he somehow hacks your website and manages to do something dastardly with that.
I dunno know what kinds of hacking skills this DB has, but you might wanna take the high and legal road with this one.

If I get revenge, its usually with my fists.

Blackmail is a felony. (At least here in America and the laws vary from state to state.)

Call the police.

I like Json's idea but Hakoshens is better.

Inform the police. They can track the IP number of the person who sent you that mail and go after him. If that fails, I say go for Json's offer.

I'm so sorry to hear about that Megan! That's terrible news! If something like that happened to me I'd be absolutely mortified >_< I guess this justifies my crippling paranoia about what I post on the internet though.
I don't go offsite of DD and DA often but if I see anything suspect I'll let you know.
I agree with the advice about contacting the police though, even if I would delight in the idea of this jerkface's computer being turned into a paperweight from a good hacking.
Then again, I think knifing him in the balls for this would be great justice too!
But as for the hacking, be careful, there's a chance that it could end up an uglier affair with this guy suing you for the damages. Sometimes the law is backwards and awards nasty little toads like that guy when people take matters into their own hands.

At any rate, I admire your ability to keep a clear head about this!

i thought she was doing that? but yeah, he's breaking the law (in a stupid way) and the law should be asked to break him back. i fail to see any reason to give an exploitative con-artist a break so he can try again with someone else.

as a side note: has noone pointed out that her girlfriend is a pretty lucky girl?

Police were notified Tuesday. Then more higher up police on Thursday. They're doing whatever they can.

People like this guy often seem to think that it's only illegal if they make good on their threats, failing to see that making the threat in the first place is illegal in itself.

It's actually turned into a hilarious story to tell the nieces and nephews someday. "Hey, did I ever tell you kids about the time Aunt Megan was blackmailed? Well, there were these naked pictures…"

I hope they give him a kick in the nuts, or at least where nis nuts would've been, if he'd had any.

I think your going a little easy on the guy, Ironscarf.

I think, a hammer would be most appropriate.

I mean, c'mon. People REALLY need to use some common sense.

Well I can assure you it definitely isn't me. I wouldn't even know how to hack someone in the first place. It's a shame that people would do something like that. I know I'd hate it if I found myself naked on the internet one day.

People like that piss me off.

Great theory, but they honestly won't do anything about it. They want kiddy porn and life threats which have a good probability of occurring.

Police were notified Tuesday. Then more higher up police on Thursday. They're doing whatever they can.

People like this guy often seem to think that it's only illegal if they make good on their threats, failing to see that making the threat in the first place is illegal in itself.
Don't expect too much to come of it, especially if the guy is in another state. If you keep on them, the cops will probably tell you to "Contact the police in the person's local area."

Most cops don't want to deal with it because they don't know how to deal with it and don't understand the law enough in order to actually do something about it.

It's just like the whole identity theft issues where a cop says, "Oh, they live in the state of Bumfuck and you're here in our state? Well, contact the local police in Bumfuck because we can't do anything about it here." It's lazy and the wrong information to give someone.

It may be illegal regardless of his intent on carrying out the crimes, but there's not going to be a lot done about it even if he does do it.
