People definitely need to get more involved.

What gets me is we really screwed up on this. These people get to make their own rules, which is *crazy*.

Vote myself a raise? Sure!

Once a member of congress, *always* a member of congress. That means you get all the congressional perks *including unrestricted access to the house floor!* This system was *made* to be some sort of lobbyist playground.

It would take a *tremendous* amount of effort to fix this – though I think the hub is campaign finance reform. However, the people who have to make that change are the same people who stand to lose the most from that change.
