i drink a lot.

not like in the frat boy i-drink-so-much-beer-every-night-i-rule sense, but like… on days i don't work i get loaded all day. then of course on days i do work i come home and get drunk. my roommate is the same way, we can polish off at least one 1.75 liter of vodka, which we affectionately refer to as godka, in a night. and when i go a day without, i notice my hands shaking a lot, like at work when i'm dropping off drinks at a table i have to really concentrate in order to not spill any.

i think it's out of boredom. i hate being bored, and when i'm drunk i'm always having fun. but anyway.

this isn't to be like "i fuckin drink YEAHHH" or anything, i'm just curious to see how many people on this site drink a lot.

i know youze folks is out there.

You'll drink almost 2 liters of vodka in a night, and you're proud about it. Your hands shake on the days you don't drink. You realize you have a big problem right?

Plus, it's pretty obtuse to be shouting out to OTHER alcoholics. If anything, they would need to stay away from people like you.

Ugh….people drink a shitload of vodka and wonder why they're sick all the time, and why they feel bummed when they're not drunk. ..need to open their damned eyes and knock it off.

(Yes, obviously I have bad experiences with alchohal and people close to me…)

Haha, lol man, drinking time, I Don't have time for that. I assume you are in the same boat(although obviously part of a different section) as me, university/college. Its a shame that you use the free time to drink, but hey, its your time not mine. I'd kill to have some more free time lol, my comic project is going to progress very slowly from now on because of school :) I have what they call a 28 hour work week, thats just the time I spend there ^_^. plus usually 20+ hours at home studying or just desperately trying not to get weeded out this year.

At any rate, for those who think that university kids are all like this, or all like me(the polar opposite), its not the case. Most of the people are inbetween if you're not in a intensive course, but if you are, the me you'll be, unless you are a genius or just don't care.

Anyways heres a last tip, get a 360/ps3/Wii and play games or go watch movies, or something.

Yeah. Hobbies are helpful. I don't drink, but I used to do a lot of "boredom eating" which is not necessarily much better for you, especially if you have all the tendencies to obesity.

Seriously, find a hobby. You say you have fun when your drinking. What exactly do you DO when you are having this fun? Is the drinking alone what's fun? Or is there another activity that you can do sober. – And if it's not fun when you're sober, then it just isn't actually fun. The shaking shows you really do have a serious physical problem here. In the same way caffeine addicts will have bad headaches if they go a day without their coffee and/or cola. If you quit drinking, that will stop after your body recouperates and resets itself.

Sounds like your roommate is adding to your trouble too. Find other activities to do together sober. My roommates sometimes drink, and I don't join them (seriously, all alcoholic stuff tastes NASTY to me). It's not impossible, but it can make you feel left out now and then.

I hope you (and anyone else struggling with addictions) can get the help you need. It's tough. It takes a lot of self motivation – and support from others.

i'm not saying i'm healthy mentally or physically, i'm not saying i'm cool. i just want to know if anyone else here drinks a lot too.

well, the last time i let myself get trashed, i drank about 8 cans of beer and a bottle of wine on my own.
