I spent the better part of the weekend decorating the house for Christmas with the wife and kids, when I should have been lettering the comic, and I'm ok with that.
We have two christmas trees and outdoor decorations that are the envy of the neighborhood. It helps to have two young children to help motivate the holiday cheer.

And, yes, we are done with the Christmas shopping.

I'm not much of a fan of the season, but I like the light decorations. Main Street downtown of me is just beautiful at night. Just wish the songs in the stores weren't so over played. Those put me in a very Grinchy mood.

Bleh, Christmas. I hate Christmas.

Giving cards and/or gifts to people I either don't know or actually despise, people who put up Christmas decorations in October, people who want donations for parties I never go to, people who give to Christmas charities so they can wash off the guilt for a while. People are hungry all year round you know, do you give owt then?

Fuck Christmas.

Thank heavens our family doesn't take Christmas too seriously, is all I'm saying. We've put up lights and some stars in the windows, but the Christmas tree isn't brought in and decorated until the day before Christmas, and even then, that's it - no extravaganza, and instead of letting off fireworks on New Year's Eve, we donate to charity.

Aaaw - all you "Bah-Humbuggers" need to go and watch Scrooged! another half-dozen times!

Bah humbug.

Anyway, Scrooge was a miser, I just have no money.

Yup, that's my holiday tradition. Watch Scrooged every year around this time. Great film. :D

Actually, my family celebrates Christmas is a fairly subdued manner. Much like Frostflowers. We don't go crazy, we don't do any Christmas shopping in December (everything bought and paid for by October) and we are always quite happy.

I think they're are two kinds of people in the world. Those who hate Christmas and those who love it. Frankly, I love it.

I'm not in the christmas mood. I work 8-12 hour shifts at a nursery where all we play is the same 6 Christmas songs. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be dead by the end of the season by shooting myself.

heh i personally love the season, but i agree with phinmagic, the season, as wonderful as it is forces us to sacrifice alot of stuff, in phin's case its the time he gets to work on his comic, for me its money, i got money flying everywhere because of christmas, just simply needing to buy gifts for everyone… when all that saved up money SHOULD be going to my new airbrush and compressor…. but thew hell with that

I just remember the reason my ancestors celebrated on Christmas…
Cause it was to fricking cold out to do anything else!

Still I slowly build up things to give people over the course of the year.
It gives it more meaning since the gifts are more carefully selected and the people who receive them know I had them in mind and heart during the year, instead of having rushed out in a flurry to go buy something in mad rush that they may or may not enjoy. It makes my holiday much more enjoyable too not having to worry about shopping.

Oh yeah almost forgot, name-brands products and stores can go to hell.
I'm a staunch capitalist but some things shouldn't come with a price tag.

I love Christmas.

Mainly because I get to spend it any way I like.
