Personally, I like stylish violence and dislike too much wackiness. Mix them both and you got success.

*ahem*

I like a bit of wackiness. :] It adds that random element that makes it easier to incorporate clues, and can make it easier to figure out clues. I've noticed that if people can't pick out some things to look at right away, they give up on clues for the rest of the game.

The idea of looking at people's comics (even just a limited number of pages) is nice, but it's a huge deterrant to figuring out clues. Especially if the clues point at someone like me, who'd have 6 or 7 comics to go through. That worked to my advantage when I was a maifa, but it makes things crummy for townies. As it is I think Black Kitty's original method was nice- comics are fair game, but only what can be picked up from the comics in a general sense- looking at their thumbnail or reading the title, or checking a page to see if it's in black and white etc.

All right then. I'm gonna thoroughly look over the clues from the first game since everyone seems to agree that they're the best one.

All right. I made a second version. Less gritty and more out of place. If voted in as the new GM tell me which version you liked better.

You have my vote PP, I sort of liked the first one better cause I had easier time figuring out the clues…

The second one is better, I think. All the mafia games I have played had a carefree narritive.

Since I'm an RA. We did a residence hall based one. Like someone was killed when someone else put a fork in the microwaves. Or the "mafia" had made a toilet overflow and a townie slipped while walking up towards it.

Hey! Hey!

Look at me! Look at me!

I will apply for GM!

I'm a tan man!

What is that delightful smell emanating from the nearby bakery? It appears that someone is baking delicious pastries. As the happy baker was about to pull out a fresh tray of croissants from the oven, a strange man approached him with a frying pan in his hand.

"Oh my god! What happened to your head?" inquired the baker.

"I have pan… me make you dead…" replied the stranger.

"What? I don't understand!" said the baker.

"Pan… Make you dead… DEAD!!! PAN!!!" retorted the stranger…

…and with that said, the stranger pounded the baker's head in with the frying pan.

*WHACK* *WHACK* *WHACK*

…and he did it some more…

*WHACK* *WHACK* *WHACK*

The baker's head was finally smashed into a pulpy mess of brain matter and blood.

the2ndredbaron the townie has been killed.

So you couldn't figure it out for yourselves? Fine, here's the breakdown…

Oh yeah, I'm going to use clues from your signature, profile, avatar, and first 5 pages of the comic of yours that has the most pages:

"Oh my god! What happened to your head?" inquired the baker.

From this, you should determine that the killer has something wrong with his head. On the first page of my humor comic, you'll see that one of my characters has a band-aid on his head (hence something wrong with his head).

"Pan… Make you dead… DEAD!!! PAN!!!" retorted the stranger…

Look at the two words in capital letters (DEAD PAN). This is a reference to the dry, static theme of my comic humor.

dmn I feel like doing a longer, more light hearted narrative but inspiration hasn't struck…maybe something (anything) later.

How long will admissions stay open? It's kinda lame if there's only three of us.

You have my vote PP, I sort of liked the first one better cause I had easier time figuring out the clues…
I probably would have used the sellout line for the second narration but I didn't feel like repeating myself.

I think out of our regular players everyone who wanted to be a GM has done so already so the list of people wanting to do it has dwindled.

I like how crocty died. It was the perfect blend of humor and brutality. Slipping cause of a toilet over flow is way too whacky. I like PPs secound nar. But I like Humor's first 5 pages of your biggest comic rule. After all this is about showwing off each others comics.

Well, If I'd use someones comic, I'd go for a clue pointing at some easy to spot theme related to the comic. Like… lightsabers for Harks comic… or state that the killer has no talent for arts to point out TFGM…. or something about divinity to point out the red barons comic. Once I'd know who the mafia members are I'd start scrutinizing their work to see if there's something I can work with.

One problem about using authors comics as clues is that if the regulars constantly come back, again and again, they'll all start knowing each other comics well enough to know if a particular clue is about it.

Yes but the problem with the theme thing is how do we know the theme? Everyone has been saying my theme is I have no talent. Its not! The only time it comes up is in Page 2. The rest of it is jokes. I should have never of named it that if people were only going to look at my banner and the first two pages :( This is why the reading a serton limit of pages is a good thing.

I wish this thread was sticky so it wouldn't get lost :) When will the voting end?

The toliet over flowing one was done by my boss. I had people thrown of balconies.

I'm not even sure the sign-ups have ended yet.

The thing about lightsabers is that they point to both Hark and myself. Then throw in the fact that Hak and Hark are only one letter different (a few people PQ'd me the last game addressing me as Hark, but I never said anything -__- ) it'd be easy for a clue to point at both of us easily.

But therein lies the problem with a lot of clues based on weapons; Aghammer's known for that knife bit, but how many people have had knives in their comics? How many of us have had guns and swords (okay, not many of us have BOTH). This whole post of mine is completely not what I wanted to say, but I just felt like addressing it.

Either way, this is an awfully long way for me to say I vote for PP.

In the case of my comics, there are no weapons in use. (Not counting OOC cause that is just up there to remind myself where I came from)
