Day 3

Something lyrical to get us in the mood.

Hark was a good lad,
A good lad was he,
'Til he crossed the will of the Master of the Dungeon deep.

The denizens gave a roar,
A mighty roar they gave,
That hark should breathe no more, come the end of day.

So 'twas, the master said upon the morn
"That hark shall breathe no more."

The denizens gave chase,
Chase they gave with glee,
From valley low to mountain high they did chase their prey.

Hark they did find,
they found him in a cave,
There it was they slew him and left on their way.

So 'twas, as the blood spilled 'pon the stone
That hark did breathe no more.

Hark the Shaman breathes no more

The dead are:

Ally Haert the Barbarian
Mettaur the Cleric
Zeph the Minion

and
TFGM the Priest of Chaos.

oh…we're playing a game?

I don't really know, you kinda need a stratergy for a game… I think everyone is just killing each other for no partiuclar reason.

edit:

Oh wait, now we know the roles of the dead! HA-HA.

Poor Harkovast…

His last words were…

"Read Harkovast."

I just need to do what i'm told by the Dungeon master.

I shouldn't really feel bad for Hark… I voted for his sacrifice.

But still, the poor guy was paralyzed…

So…am I not died then? Cause I'd love to be alive for one of the days I got the internets. They can always lynch me in the morning.

Um, short answer, no.

Long answer, check your inbox.

and on that note, since I've done such a crap job GMing this rambling wreck, I want to know if I should allow TFGM to come back to life, or just end this fiasco the next night.

In interest of fairness to TFGM and the other chaos priest it's probably best to let him live. We'll probably end up lynching him tomorrow or the day after anyway.
His roles been revealed though, but I think someone already suggested that TFGM was a chaos priest.
Also, since I think he was (maybe) attacked by the champion, the champion probably would have figured out that TFGM was a chaos priest from him still being alive and they would have told us about it.
So really, the only difference is that now the champion doesn't have to reveal their identity.

Unless it was an adventurer that attacked him, but I am fairly sure (as in kind of sure) it was the champion.

Pretty much what BFF said. You might as well let him live, it's not fair to him or the other Chaos Priest if he's left dead, particularly if the other preist is free game now because of TFGM's death. He'll probably be lynched in the next day or so anyway now that everyone knows he's a Chaos Priest.

Haha, this is certainly a very interesting first Mafia game for me. :)

Nice. There were interestind developments here!

I'd feel bad for TFGM if he'd stay dead, even though it's not his fault.

So, new thing I understand: the chaos priests are a 3rd faction in this game that can win on it's own, but will have to be killed if the darklords minions or the adventurers want to win?
However, by being dead during the day, TFGM has been giving an advantage, since he can only be killed during the day. If anything, he should have been acted upon as if he was paralysed by the Gorgon and stay dead for 1 day and 1 night, before being 'divinely resurected'.
I mean, if he'd come back during the night, he'd practically be given an immumity to death for one day.

So my suggestion, let him come back to life after the night is over.

Every time I think I understand what's going on, something new happens.

I can only agree with Ofools, this is a very interesting first game of Maffia. I'd love to join in on the next game too!

EDIT: Since nobody seems to be replying, I guess I'll add some more info.
Let's make a small analysis here.
For now, I will consider TFGM to be dead.

So what we have:
14 out of 19 players are still alive
3 out of 5 adventurers are still alive
1 out of 2 chaos priests are still alive
10 out of 12 townies are still alive.

Looking at these numbers, the townies seem to be killing their opponents in a fast and more than efficient manner. Blindsk and Ally both died by the traps of the trapmaster. This means since Blindsk was a witch and Ally a barbarian, the adventurers have the advantage here: the adverturers know who is the trapmaster and will probably send in the rogue to kill him/her this night.
The townies and the chaos priest don't know who is the trapmaster.

If we're smart, we're should keep the trapmaster alive for as long as possible, however, we can't communicate freely, without blowing our cover or the chance of lying.

So basically we're still in a pickle.

I also fear for the wizard. He's like a glass-canon trapmaster. Attacking him/her will result in a double death. And since we only have 1 person that can attack at night (the dark champion), we could lose our ace just like that! (Though he might survive due to having 2 lives? It's still risky).
This is all assuming ONLY the dark champion can attack. Not the minions or whatever.

Now, in the townies' ideal case, the remaining chaos priests kills the wizard, ending his own faction and bringing the adventurers' party back to 2.

Am I rambling? Stating the obvious?
Or totally failing to create order out of chaos?

The trapmaster is probably screwed, assuming the adventurers have been communication with eachother well enough.
Oh well. Better off losing the trapmaster than the detective or champion.

The wizard spells only affect the people who have been put under a spell already. If the champion attacks the wizard then they'll be fine (unless the wizard has put a spell on them, in that case they only loose one life).
The wizard has only one spell casted on someone at the moment, I believe (they casted a spell on night 2 but not night 1). Although they will probably cast one tonight, or activate the one already cast.
And yes, only the champion can attack.

Also, onlyfools, as awesome as your new avatar is, you're going to have to change it back since changing it mid-game is against the rules.

Thanks, bffsatan, for clearing that up for me ^^

I guess if the champion is under a spell of the wizard, the adventurers will know he's the champion because he survived instead of died.
So it's a double-edged blade.

not much going on, I guess…

everyone so quiet!

I would like to solve the clues, but I'm unsure which clues pertain to which role even if I do feel confident in having solved them for identities, which makes it impossible for me to post findings.

Usually there are clear indicators in the narration to illustrate that this murderer is the shaman, this murderer is the knight, etcetera…but without that I'm forced to be pretty inactive.

By the way, we like hit the jackpot of usefully participating new players this time, gosh. You guys are so great. <3

I agree with Ochi - for me, this has been a fabulous lurking experience with all the discourse and illustration from the new cast.

am missing Mr Hark
(I always think of angels. first of all, hark looks like harp, and then there's the ol' Hark - the herald angel)

@pok—tah: it appears your scanner is as morose as your song. it ploinked
