something moronic about Akira

please crocty, don't say anything more about Akira
please don't.

if you do you certainly won't be getting into K.A.L.A.-dan.

Watch the whole thing first before you make commentary.
It is a complicated trippy movie and needs more than one viewing before you grasp everything that's going on.

Plus the manga is ten times more complicated and there was so much loss that isn't in the movie.

…yeah, that's great Sunohara.

And Mishi? Tsk, tsk, tsk, this isn't a dating sim, it's a visual novel. The key difference is that while the two genres often share a common visual presentation, dating sims are sometimes considered to be more statistically based than the "choose your own adventure" style of visual novels. <- Copypasta'd from Wikipedia.

At the moment I am playing Clannad, which is like 2GB's worth of downloading when you include the voice patch and translation patch.

If you want links, you know where I am. :3

Just out of complete random;

I just saw this movie (Horton Hears a Who) and there was an anime scene in it. Sorry for the poor quality, though.

It AMUSED me.

This reminds me of this parody.

Nickelodeon's Fairly Odd Parents also had a Speed Racer parody and a Dragon Ball Z parody. But I can't find it on the internets. ;_; The episode was Channel Chasers for whoever wants to see it.

Lol, I remember those parodies. X3

I've also seen DBZ parodies on Kids Next Door, and one on angry beavers…though I think it was a megaman parody…and not DBZ…I don't rememeber. Youtube failed to provide clips of either… D:

And then there's Kappa Mikey…with background characters that parody various anime. From Yu-Gi-Oh to Chobits.

Casshern
I've had that movie on DVD since ages. Saw it a few years ago, loved it hard and long, then bought it. It's awesome. It's like live-action anime.

Akira
The reason you don't get the movie, is because you haven't read the manga. I'm reading the manga atm, and in comparison the movie covers abougt 2% of the general story. Not to mention all the little details.
What struck me as funny is that the cult-leader you see in the movie, a tiny lady with a huge onion-shaped hairdo who appears for two minutes is actually the leader of the biggest religious cult that has formed after the second time Akira manifested. They're the only ones able to stand up to the new Tokyo Empire, which is lead by Akira who is assisted by Tetsuo.
See, none of that is covered by the movie. They basically took like, the first, 6th and last volume or so, forced it into one incoherent story and made a movie out of it. It's cool and all, but the manga's so much cooler.

Edit:
From what I've watched…
Have you even watched it all the way through the end? Your spoiler insinuates that you've only seen like the first ten minutes.

Rutger, I accidentally found Casshern at the video store on the new release wall this last weekend. On IMDB it said it was released in 2004, but maybe it just recently was released in the states. I don't know. Dreamworks was the distributor on the dvd. So maybe it was a re-release. But I am planning on buying asap once funds are available. :)

Are there any other anime inspired films like Casshern that are as visual stunning?

I should have said 'Fortune telling using playing cards' instead of 'Fortune telling using breasts'.
gaemsauce? sounds like lulz will ensue if I play it.

If you ever find one, let me know right away. I haven't found anything like Casshern, but it'd be awesome if there's more like it out there…

Oh lawl, so many parodies there, Haruhi, FMA, Gals…

And I'm going to PQ all that are interested playing Clannad. I finally got a non-bad end! Even though I had four bad ends before that, and this good end wasn't even with one of the main five girls. :/

So many parodies, and I don't think I recognized one of 'em. Well, except for Naruto…and that little dance they do in the end.
