Speaking of bad movies, I got a pack of fifty "classic" science fiction movies…they're those movies that are so bad that they just end up being hilarious. There's one called Santa Vs the Martians that I'm especially excited about. Oh, and I watched all the Creature From the Black Lagoon movies. They're pretty awesome.

Santa Vs the Martians sounds a little better than it is but, if I recall right, it's really more of a children's movie.
It's quite strange for what it is though, so worth watching for that :)

Stuff about Plan 9.

My point was, it isn't a good film, and therefore showing it someone and expecting them to like it is pretty dumb.

Santa vs The Martians however, is a cinematic classic.

"Plan 9" is pretty bad; which is why it's good, in my book. The opening/closing segments alone make it worth it for me. But I like that kinda thing; the old man doesn't.
For a long time, I maintained that "Fatguy Goes Nutzoid" was the worst movie ever made. Not so. It's actually "Love in the Rough", a 1930's musical romantic comedy about… golf. I don't tend to count recent movies in my calculations, but if I did I'd have to submit "Revolver". All three are so bad, though, they're not even enjoyable on a comedic level.

Nah, the worst movie ever made is a version of Alice in Wonderland made by a Czechoslovakian animator Jan Å vankmajer. Which is weird because I love most of his other work.

God damn I'm bored out of my mind. Maybe I should try getting one of those life things.

And my original point wasn't "Plan 9 is the best movie ever, and there is something wrong with people who don't think that", but rather "I am in a relationship with someone who does not appreciate the same things that I do". But I suppose that in and of itself could qualify as "dumb" as well.

And my rebuttal to that is 'shut up, I knew that. I was testing you'.

To 5 year olds in the 1960s, yes. To the rest of us… no. :(

And my rebuttal to that is, "Your face!". Although in about two minutes, I'll wish I would have said "Your mom!". D'oh!

Santa Vs the Martians
That one is an epic-level hilarious movie. Another classic so-crappy-it's-funny santa related movie is one called Santa Slays.

I might have to go watch those if I can find them online while I wait for my paint to dry.

funny comment about playing the field
-

my wife was just in a car accident…i didnt believe her, cause occassionally she cries wolf and thinks it's funny. she spent 5 minutes convincing me. now i feel bad that i was like "haha stop joking" sigh, now she's stuck in the middle of iowa, and tomorrow/today is sunday and nobody's going to be open. also, no one except bills take checks, and that's the only way i can get money fast to her. (she has an account at my bank, she lost her debit card).

sigh, sometimes i hate trips like this…

Slap her

Seriously though, if they're still into you and you're not into them, it won't end well no matter what you do.

Introduce her to an eligible friend?

Whatever… if you like the other girl more, don't two-time the first one. Break it off quick, clean, and firmly. It's a LOT kinder to her in the long run. Way less painful for all concerned :)

sheeze. it seems like the world is out to get my money….just when i thought i had a sizeable account. something happens…

when i had first gotten married, my paycheck wasnt enough to support me and my wife. we were living paycheck to paycheck, plus a small savings account that was quickly dwindling… and then a break came for a little bit. i was given a trip that paid me 500 dollars extra for a week of work… and then i was relieved for a bit, cause this would tide us over, until my first deployment. but two weeks later my wifes powersteering went out. the replacement part? 425$

then i went to my first deployment, and we got a nice savings account. bigger than anything i'd ever had…then a second deployment…then a family emergency, all but wiping out the account…

so we moved in to a shady neighborhood, so we could pay less rent, which helped tremendously. until the people who moved in downstairs started smoking/dealing pot, and we got new neighbors upstairs who were elephants and couldnt walk around without making loud bangs with every step (no exaggeration the previous was a family of 4, which we heard once, and the mother came downstairs to apologize for the ruckus, but it was the middle of the day so it was fine)

i got a 250 dollar a month promotion, so i decided it was time to move out. saved up for a couple months and made the move in november. i was making the same amount of profit with my old rank at the old place as my new rank at the new place. then i came here, making a lot of money. and i thought, it's about time my wife got a new car. and now she's crashed my car, which i still owe money. i have to tow it, and pay damages, and insurance is going to go up. so all this money i saved up. out that fourth floor window to my right.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation Seventy2 :( Hope things get better soon!

Work has been taking over my life and as I told a colleague once, I would like my life back. Every story I tell, difficulties I've had, rants I've spewed, have all been work related. So I'll like to get something that is vaguely human like…like hobbies. So once this semester is over, I would like to balance my work better and hopefully that'll leave enough time for me to do my own things that are completely unrelated to work in every way, shape, and form.

Sorry man, but from what you say, it's her costing you most of that money. She needs to get a job now and pay for herself. This isn't the 1950s anymore, which is why two people can't really afford to live as easily off of one paycheck these days.

Of course, this doesn't include the items I already have for my computer (250GB SATA HDD and a 250 IDE HDD, 3.5" Floppy, Sound Blaster eXtreme Music 5.1 sound card, 15" Monitor, Logitech Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, Sunbeam Blue Transformer case)

All purchased through Newegg. com, which is where I get all of my computer parts as a general rule.

I'll be overclocking my video card to the FTW Edition (666/1404/1107) speeds as well. Hell, if they sell the card at those speeds without any other modifications, and people are getting 720+/1500/2400 on the cards with stock hardware, fuck it, I can at least get the OCed version speeds!

My case is up to the cooling task as well, so it's all good. I love how it comes with a full copy of Far Cry 2 packaged in the box for the video card. Gonna play the HELL out of that bitch, let me tell you.

Oh, and I'll get Left 4 Dead as well. If anyone else has the game, let's go kill some fucking zombies when I'm on it!
