BOO-Yah! I got a B in that class I've been bemoaning about. No summer school for me…I hope.

But I kinda feel bad about the B. The only reason I have it is cause my teacher gave me 30 points of extra credit when I only did 20 points worth. Not exactly going to bring it up, but no one likes winning because of a technicality.

So, like, if any of y'all really enjoy inking in extremely poor lighting, at a rickety kitchen table that's in a state of perpetual occupation 18 hours a day, then you should totally come hang out at my grandma's house with me. It's especially fun if you're allergic to cats. Not having the Internet is pretty dope, too.

Also, I think i'm gonna end up havin' to stay a week longer than I'd planned.

So I've got this anxiety or guilt or whatever because I feel like if I'm not disciplined enough to devote all my spare time to drawing, under any and all conditions and circumstances, then it means I'm giving up or not serious about my work. Like getting frustrated and going to bed right now because I can see and keep messing up means that I am a failure as an artist.

Why, I ask you- why must I be, ya know, completely insane?

i've been going the same way this past week.i dont know, maby it's been longer for you. figured out lately though that it's just cuase there's other things on my mind.cant get my head in the game cuase i have to adjust to new surroundings.you wouldnt think so,but it's a lot different working in the same place you've been working for 2 or 3 years compared to a whole new environment.specialy if it's not a completely comfortable environment.

i'm behind on putrid, which means im also behind on a few other things becuase of hangups like that right now.on top of it i gotta dig up pics of guns cuase im not particularly good at drawin em,so i went across to the general store in town, bought some beer to loosen up and pack this shit up finally.

Recently added to the bunch is my dad's old machete, from the army. But it doesn't sit right. :(
It doesn't fit in… It's not decorative. It's not a toy. It's not some pretty, shiny, impractical thing. It's too ugly, deadly, and real.

I'm going to take it down, put it away in a cupboard and just use it for gardening like before. It's good for gardening- hacks through anything in one swipe… You have to be careful to check the blow or a one handed swing will literally take your leg off -or at least bite right into the bone. ugh, nasty thing. -_-

Reminds me of the old saying "This is for killing, this is for fun." Being in the army I only ever had a few bayonets, a Sykes-fairborn commando dagger and the SAS survival knife. The last is HUGE. It's about the size of Crocodile Dundee's blade, but blackened. A killer's blade. Like Sharpe's heavy cavalry sword: a butcher's blade. No finesse, just for killing.

Look at a nice shiney treform bayonet. So pretty, then realize the wounds it inflicted. Also in the arms and armour collections you see the tournament armor, engraved and shined, and the battle armor; blackened and plain. Next to them are the can opener pole arms. Blackened and functional. Then the ceremonial pole arms, impractical and pretty and the 18th Century NCO spontoons; somewhere in the middle.

My Arm is still killing me and re-sizing backgrounds is a real bitch. And editing out tourists in castle interiors. lol!

i learned today (while looking up a completly unrelated reg) that the only correct answer to "why did you fail?" asked by a superior is, "no exscuse, sir/ma'am". i didnt know that. and it was facinating.

Journey started… spent the entire yesterday ploughing through tons of notes on the project and today I finally started to write. Or rewrite rather, as I had the first couple bits covered already, so I'm just expanding and improving (previously I was cramming in as much as I could to perhaps fit the first part of the story into as few issues as possible). Got the first ten pages written down, hoping to do another 10 before bedtime.

In other news… I got a sore throat :(

Good luck with your project Aurora! Hope you can do it! I know you can, since you did Din Krakatau already. But still man, keep it up!

Man, what is it with me and girls!?!
Today was crazy. First, on my way to 3rd hour, that one girl I've been talking to just randomly walked up to me and hugged me.
During lunch, this one reaaaaally hot girl was like, checking me out. I looked at her, and she was looking right at me, I looked away, and looked back. She was still looking. I was like "8D".

And then my best friend (who's also a girl) starting crying, because her and her boyfriend had a talk yesterday about this one girl, who was my best friend's best friend and she kept on hanging out with my best friend's boyfriend, and pretty much the talk was about my best friend's best friend to stop hanging out with my best friend's boyfriend. Well, my best friend's boyfriend said him and my best friend's best friend are walking to McDonalds, after they talked about not seeing each other as much.

Wow. That was confusing to type.

And then, these two hot girls basically begged me to do a voice impression. It was cool.
Too many girls, I tell ya!
And on top of that, these girls keep telling me I'm so amazing, and I deserve someone amazing.
I DON'T SEE IT.
I'm not mad, I'm actually happy, a little shocked too, but happy.

That's only for enlisted personnel it's a sliding scale. Once above E-5 it becomes less and less necessary. Once above E-7 an NCO is rarely wrong and E-8 and above are NEVER wrong.

O-1s are never right and no officer below O-3 is rarely right. In the army the Officer is a little lost soul who must be led by the hand until he reaches O-4. Officers in the Navy and Air Force below general must always refer to their NCO equivelent as the NCO's really own the equipment. The Captain of that ship may command it, but it always remains the property of the Master chief. :)

Then there is the After Action Report where anyone is free to tell anyone else what he/she did was FUBAR. Gotta love them. Whoever did the improper planning and execution of that plan are the ones who screwed up. But a good NCO will make the officer think he/she is still in charge. ;) NCOs make it happen.

And any officer who tells you different has an NCO behind him who knows different.

Thanks. It's a crazy thing I set up for myself but I hope I can finish it. It's a story that's been with me since I wrote the first short story years ago (which I'm currently re-adapting into the first 30-50 pages of the script) and it should be an enormous task to complete the entire saga. I'll be going from raw pencils, inking only the outlines of bits that are supposed to be filled with black (so that they retain solid borders when I edit the scans in photoshop). That should cut out a lot of editing time :D

Anyway, enough about that. It's too early to talk about art as I have yet to draw anything… Hell, I have no idea how long the script will end up at this point (could be 300 pages, could be 900 pages, haha). All I have is a loose plot outline and tons of notes on various bits of the story. So yeah, I'll shut up :D

104 pages of us whining or just talking about other stuff happening in our lives. :)

I wish I got editorials for assignments more often. I kick the butt of editorial-writing(or anything where I can be expressive/state my opinion), but I cannot for the life of me motivate myself for things like essays.

Oh, so I could just post something and then talk about it with people?

Yup, although most people try to avoid posting things that should really go in other forums (like asking what people think of a piece of artwork) or would be better as their own thread (like trying to start a bigger discussion ie Wolverine movie).

This just a pretty casual, social thread where we can just complain about anything, share good news, and chit-chat. :] If you read the last page or two you'll get an idea of the type of things people post.

Really great how Obama is reworking the auto industry and subtly taking a bite out of the oil mongers, and the whole jumping back on stem cell research is a great move too. I'll be honest i was a little cautious of him, too good to be true and all that, but now he's really winning me over.

I'm taking my cat to the vet for the first time in about 6 years, just a checkup and stuff. It's funny her first time going she screamed and yowled the whole car ride there-but i got out the very same carrier we had used that time and left it in my room after cleaning, came back in and she was laying inside it all 'it mein B0'

There have been a ton of these wild grey mice outside (harvest mice?) This is the first time i've ever seen wild mice, let alone so many. Due to my 7 outside cats i tend to see them dead dangling from a mouth, the cat jumps up on the porch all 'it mien >B0' and then all the other cats circle around him going 'it mien! >80' and then they do that for like 3 minutes or so.

The US government has owned certain parts of Chrysler and GM for 60 years being the only real buyer from certain divisions. lol! Though, this increases my respect for Ford.

I figured out the background! After downloading 50 pictures off the internet. I completed a panel, yippee!

Prostitution/gladiator? that's the greatest combination of two words I have seen all day. Kudos.

that combination of words just reminded me of this one B-movie that I watched a long time ago…

it was set in ancient Rome. And it was all about those women who were caught for various crimes (but mainly for disgusing themselves as roman soilders after thier side lost in order to avoid being killed off or raped), but they also were all prostitutes for some reason. and because of their crimes, they had to stay not only in some jail, but to fight as female gladiators in the coliseum for people's entertainment.

I tell you, it was also practically an porno with all the lesbian making out, the straight sex, etc. It also had so many pointless fights/violence and had it share of blood too. :p so naturally I enjoyed it!

I also found it hilarious, because of how historically inaccurate it was… I'm sure the name was "Amazons of Rome", or something like that.

so something like "I just had a Shakespeare festival today at school and I acted mad good" is the type of thing for this thread?

the government. (technically that's all i'm allowed to rant about them)

did some good workouts this week, but lazy at the same time. gotta slow down, or i'll burn myself out. something i do not wanna do.

talked to a chief today, and he said that i couldnt crosstrain….but then after talking for a bit, he said he had misheard what i said. i used the AF specialty code, and he heard it dyslexic, so he thought it was some other job. but then i said "pararescue" and he was like "go for it, you have every right". it's good to get final word that i actually can do this, adminstrativly (sp). i was worried that i would get all in shape and pumped to do this, and not be able to go.

only had to be at work for a total of 4 hours. i think this calls for a victory nap!

Once I got the curtains done everything looks great in the throne room background.

And I spent money! Yahoo! I love spending what little money I can accumulate for my hobbies! Who cares if I need a Coastal Command Fortress III, Jaguar GR.1 and TBD-1 Devastator or not?

And this got me to finally sell some other pieces I'd forgotten I had on ebay. lol!

So I set myself a goal of reaching 40 scripted pages today. I got 39. But, since this page ends a large scene, I'll count it as a goal achieved. This covers first 11 pages of the original (supercompressed) script. Still about 30 more to adapt and then I'm on my own with my notes as the only guide.

In other news, I am still sick and it appears, I am broke… again.
