if there are any paramedics out there, could you send me a pq? i've got a couple questions about the job…

I don't know if the forums are public right now or not, but if they are, this thread might be useful to you: EMT Megathread

not public, but thanks for trying skool.

blech, since i wasnt able to sleep between shifts yesterday and today, i've now been up for 36+ hours. i think i'll stay up another 12, because last night, was my last shift. and if i do that, then i'll be on schedule to go home, and for when i get home. oh i cant wait. it's fun to travel, but it's always great to be home. my wife, my puppies…my freedom….sigh.

p.s. my questions are more along the lines of how they handle the job, more than how to become one. just so i'm clear for anyone contacting me.

I could probably see about asking my brother-in-law. He's got his EMT and Paramedic degrees and he's a volunteer firefighter. Mostly it seems like he makes jokes about things and just finds ways to distance himself from the people involved.

I have discovered the awesomeness that is ebay. And poking through the art section on there I'll bet I could make a bit of money on the side selling work through there. Most of what I saw wasn't exactly all that great.

I took a couple days off from working on my comic, and I feel super-refreshed. I needed to draw something else for a while. So I got some grey-scale Prismacolors and have had a blast playing around with those. I haven't drawn with markers in years! It's so rewarding to be able to sit down, and ten minutes later have a fully-toned sketch, without endless hours of building up lines with pen or value with pencils.

So, I figured out, that even eating healthy, working out, and all that DOESN'T make me invulnerable! I've had the same stomach ache for the past 3 days. I thought it was from using an ab roller (which usually does hurt my stomach) but back to back to back, it's still hurt.

So I'm not going to school tomorrow, because I basically feel like total crap. So this whole weekend, I'm going to relax, and get more work on the comic done…

so i'm taking a history of art and visual culture class on video games, which is pretty fun except for the kids in it.

bitches will always find a way to talk about their favorite video game which has NOTHING to do with what the professor is lecturing about.

I gotta go to this dumb wedding in a couple weeks- honestly, I can't even remember what the bride looks like, let alone her name.

I finally found something to wear ($8 at the thrift store; not bad). But I only have 3 pairs of shoes, and they're all boots. My feet are weird, so I've gotta wear heels with straps on 'em or they won't stay on. Plus, they need be at least 3", preferable more- if I've gotta be arsed to wear heels, they'd better make my stubby legs look good, damn it! These be tough criteria to meet on my slim budget. I might just have to roll up into the synagogue with knee-high engineer boots. ;)

At least it's in Philly, so I get to spend some time in a proper city. God, I miss civilization.

Sometimes… you can find some amazing stuff on Ebay ^_^
But with shoes of course, it would be a miracle if they fitted :(

Anyway, big hulking boots look AWESOME with a dress. Almost makes me want to be a chick so I could pull off that look. If I was I wouldn't wear anything else.

Just think of the new world of vintage ladies' hats that'd open up for you! ;)

I'd totally go for the boots- I was the maid of honor at my brother's wedding, and wore my tanker boots with the bridesmaid dress. But it's a… "conservative" crowd, I'm afraid. I guarantee I'll be the only one there with facial piercings. x_X

I got a cat today. :) Apparently his previous owner called him DL, but that's a crummy name so we're calling him Haiku. He's all fat and black and fluffy, and he likes to nuzzle noses.
He's in my sister's room right now, and hasn't met the dog yet, but the dog knows that something is up…he has been pacing and whining and sniffing under the door. Hopefully they get along.
I'm also going to have to find a way to keep the cat out of the basement, our dog is scared of dark places so he doesn't go down there, but a cat could easily get very lost in our basement. Fortunately I was supervising when he was exploring the house and stopped him before he got down the stairs.

So, I stayed home from school today because I'm pretty sure I got some kind of flu. Apparently it's going around.

Also, got kind of hurt last night, because I had asked a girl to chill at the mall with me. She never replied. Her best friend had to tell me she was into some guy. So I'm basically thinking "Wtf".

And, this girl will not leave me alone (Don't worry, it's nobody here!) Like seriously, I see her in school, BAM, she talks to me. When I get on AIM, BAM, she talks to me. I put new pictures up on Myspace, BAM! She comments them.

SHE WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE!
And I'm too nice to say something.
Ugh.

Evenings gets me more money, but it's fucking KILLING my social life…I have none anymore, which is pissing me off.

The most of a social life I have right now because of it is playing Left 4 Dead multi-player with my friends.

I've been trying to get this date setup with someone, but our schedules keep conflicting, which is pissing me off.

In addition, I'm still not feeling great. My brother had strep and has passed a lot of the illness on to me now, which I'm still getting over.

In lighter news, the computer is working great. My bandwidth is being killed right now since I'm using 90% of it on two huge patch downloads for my games. No big deal, though. Every issue I've encountered has been software related and not hardware, which is so much easier to deal with.

I recognized the new girl who started work at my part time gig, and it turns out I know her from around town and I had pulled her over once before. It was bugging the hell out of me since I met her a about a week ago. She's cute, in a nerdy way, but she's very sociable, so it's a little "odd", but attractive at the same time.

Flash gave me a problem when I tried to install it last time, but I think I know what the issue is…so once that's settled I will start on the animation and comic once again.

That's pretty much how I dealt with most of my life so far, and why change something that works so well?

Seconded.

Blasting my ipod and having a forgetful memory serves me well :3

Well I hope you find the right shoes! There have to be the perfect ones out there somewhere…

Don't be a prick. She likes you :)

:) Cats are pretty cluey. It won't get lose in a basement. It'll be ok down there unless there's only one way out and it gets closed of… Chance of being trapped then. :(
They learn their names and answer to them… So not always a good idea to change it.

Jeebus. I can't figure out what's wrong with my laptop. For whatever reason it takes forever to finish basic computer functions like moving the task bar from the bottom to the side of the desktop and changing the background. Plus when I go through the shutdown procedure and try to turn it off it blue screens on me for no apparent reason.Vista is just annoying the living crap out of me. It shouldn't take 4 minutes to load Photoshop. I'm running a Centrino duo processor and 2 gigs of RAM and it's operating slower than my 5 year old desktop with a Pentium II and 1 gig of RAM at home. This thing should easily be outrunning my old computer but it acts like a piece of crap lately.

And now while looking around for my camera, I've just noticed that my fucking looks like it has been burglarized. My brand new digital camera, some money and several of my videogames are gone. That camera had photos of the market walls I was supposed to be coming up with sketches for my commission. I can't even afford to replace the camera much less the photos and work that I had documented and hadn't gotten onto my computer yet. I'm going to rip my roommate a couple new assholes. I've screamed at him countless times for leaving the door open and he never listens. And he probably won't give a shit this time either since it doesn't look like much of anything of his was taken.

This week has just sucked to all hell and gone. I'm really hoping next week will be better. :(

Why would that stop you? If anyone asks, just say "I'm an artist." Best excuse for odd behavior this side of the planet. Besides, why dress up like someone you're not just to impress someone other person's relatives?

lba. You need a lockbox or something, chained to the wall. Of course someone could just take the whole box, but at least that makes it a LOT harder than picking the stuff up off of the shelf because your room mate is an inveterate imbecile and doesn't care about anyone else bit his pathetic self :)

If it was a big enough lock box, it'd be pretty hard to carry away anyway… You're an artist, you know how to get such a thing and secure it ;)

@lba
If it's not a virus you should get a ram upgrade, I have a poopy Intel core duo with 4 gigs of ram and photoshop loads in 20 seconds or less. From what I hear 2 gigs is the very bare minimum for vista running programs.

EDIT: sorry to hear about the burglary stuff, you roommate sounds suspicious, I say take his stuff and sell it on ebay to make up for your loss.
