Yeah, it's obviously a girl, just a bit bony in the face.
That reminds me of when my sister and I saw "Jumping Jack Flash". For the fist half of that film we didn't know weather Whoopie Goldberg was male or female. We were both leaning towards her actually being a gay man.
… We'd never seen Whoopie before so we had nothing to go by, and the name doesn't tell you much.
