Ah, sorry. Misread. Also kinda drunk right now. Still, Holy & Light are both pretty much the same. Also, just to be clear, I'm going the FFXIII approach, meaning 100% magical damage combined with immunity against e.g. fire means, fire damage still does 50% damage.

Zot Q &A
going to be honest I don't like the sound of it and it leaves mixed feelings with me, yeha it fits how I imagine them ,and gives everyone a reason to spite them even more, but at the same time makes no sence as only a few members of the cast would need be toned down, other characters are already within reasonable limits, plus it feels like we're taking a page out of Castlevaina:SOTN's intro, and Metroid Prime 1 and 2(more 2 than one since a group of otherworldly beings are doing it, but you get my point)
As for your stat sheets they make no sense to me likely because:
A) your basing it off a game I will never in my life play and know little about(aside from the fact the 16-bit recap made the plot more entertaining)
B)I'm trying to memorize 3.5 rules and its racking my brain and making me slowly go crazy.(this reason is just a bonus though.)
Its an idea to concider and tempting, but I feel we can do better than this "The Gods Did It" approach.
My dear SB, you can rest assured that I am not going to sit here, doing the math on whether or not an enemy's attack, reduced by 50% due to ATK↓, multiplied with a combined 250% weakness against physical and air based attacks, will be lethal to my character. And I'm not gonna roll for defence either. And if you really never played the FFs in question (a shame, really), then I think we can say we're on par, seeing how I never played D&D.
Also, I can see your concerns now, but ya'll hafta excuse me for the seemingly stolen idea, since I've never played any of the Metroid or Castlevania games either.
To sum up DND its basicly the ancestor to the FF franchise. its simmilar in some ways, diffrent in others.
As far as FF games I've only played a few(FF 3, 6, 7, 4 and the After years, and FF Dissidia and Dissidia 012) only completing one(number 4 and the 2 FF fighting games mentioned) of the many. So I know some Stat things just not what would be concidered up to date.
As for the Castlevina SoTN and the 2 Metroid games, just watch the first 2 or 3 vids of a let's play of those games on youtube and you'll see what I mean.
________
As for Ideas for the whole "level 0" thing I did come up with one. Basicly I figure if its anyone's fault the powers of many are reseted it should be Zot's.
Pico at some point mentioned a power draining device in our writing. What if it wasn't finished and out of curiousity someone used it? the backlash could send a wave around the world affecting many heros and Villans weaking them and stripping them heavily of their abilities. Thus begining a race to restore power to those at Zot as quickly as possible.
Now there would be a few exceptions to those affected by the wave, such as those who draw their power elsewhere(Ex:vampires, Werewolves(Zack included), Morphs(MB and his recently gifted family (who I have already put limits on), the 4 Fiends and Arch Fiends, and Metroids) those who are enhanced by formulas or are in some way machines(ex Jasmine, Frank and his cyber parts, and Anita with her serum) and those who are the estranged and aren't apart of the system or stream(Ex:Doc). As for My character…well it basicly takes a lot of power to keep him going(infact he there is no real shape to him. he's technically formless. The wave would likely kill him or at least turn him into a vegetable, so I'm still working on that…)
The threats and enemies can grow alongside Zot on the surface making many of the encounters fair…however to make it interesting the wave while not affecting the heavens all that much, did rattle some chains in hell freeing some of the more dangerous threats that have previously at one point stood on par with all of us making them much more threating than the last time we encountered them.

Its just one idea I have, but its the only one as of now, that I decided to put a lot of thought into.
To preface, I’m indifferent in regards to a reboot or a reset or however we move forward from here. It doesn’t matter to me how it’s done, when it’s done, why or who by. Take as much time as needed in the planning, and have fun with it. that said, I’m with Pico in regards to wanting to write again soon.
-
I think that I’ll use Ink less often this time around (mostly due to his neutral personality, most of his story being told, and semi-overpowered nature) and introduce some new characters. People who are a little more volatile and much less powerful with room to grow.
-
To follow the trend, I will now record Ink’s stats (pre-staff). I will avoid using numbers for simplicity’s sake but I am not opposed to someone converting it into whatever system they prefer.
-
Ink
Appearance: depends on which of his three forms. As a wolf (his main form) he’s slightly larger than a German-shepherd with black fur and red eyes. His chest and muzzle are marked with tan. As a man, he has shaggy black hair, red eyes and pale skin. His hybrid form is something between the two. While in human or hybred form he wears blue jeans with black stripes over the knees a thick leather belt and a faded grey vest. His ears have each have a horizontal slash in them low and deep on the outer edge.
Personality: surprisingly laid back for what he is although he is somewhat fond of practical jokes. He is a weird mix of optimism, fatalism, and cynicism; fully expecting the worst of the world and smiling all the way. His views on death, slavery, and society in general are unique and he seems to content to live without ambitions. He is somewhat obsessed with stories and fancies himself a writer without books. In his own words, he does not fight. By this he does not mean that he is a pasifist, but rather is a piece of his philosophy. In a fight, everyone looses for no real purpose. Sparing, on the other hand has purpose in the improvement of everyone involved. Likewise, an assassin rarely looses.
Species: Black Shuck, although he identifies as Banshire. (some of the other names for his species include but are not limited to Old Shuck, Hellbeast, Barghest, Mauthe Dhoog, Skriker, Hateful Thing, Whisht Hound, Swooning Shadow, Galleytrot, Gytrash, Black Angus, Gwyllgi, Striker, Spectre-Hound, Gurt Dog, Barguest, Padfoot, Thost Dog, Hairy Jack, Cu Sith, and Glassensyke.)
Strength: stronger than average man but nowhere near body-builder status
Speed: many times faster than a mortal human is capable of in both top speed and reaction time.
Intelligence: yes.
Stamina: although very laid back and considered lazy, he does not tire no matter how long the task.
Magic/mana: none
Items: generic 9mm handgun and Glaive (Rhiannon)
Powers/abilities
Perfect Phasing: can selectively become incorporeal and move through solid objects. Can flawlessly control what body-parts are incorporeal and such control even extends to clothing worn and objects held. Body-parts and objects held while phasing have no mass and thus are unaffected by any physical properties that pertain to mass.
Shape-changing: can assume any of three forms at will. Retains the shadow of his base form at all times as well as his black hair/fur and red eyes. Base form: large black Wolf. Secondary forms: Human and Anthro-Wolf.
Invisibility: can become transparent or wholly invisible
Harbinger of Death: when fur is all black and in main form, any mortal (human or otherwise) that looks directly at him dies instantly.
Foresight, death: when he first looks at somebody he knows the hour of their death. should fate change, the selected hour of the person’s death may also change.
Manifiest: can shift himself from any location to the house of death and likewise from the house of death to any other location. This method is not instantaneous and is far less accurate than conventional forms of teleportation.
Stable insanity: his mind is split into dozens of separate intelligences (or tangents) working together at all times. He can easily multitask and think of many different ideas simultaneously. He is extremely strong of will when pushed and is very resistant to all manner mental attacks. However, the vast majority of his tangents conceive stories and vast fictional worlds at any given time and he often has difficulty telling reality from fantasy. He calls people characters and his logic is often based around genre awareness and dramatic symbolism rather than cold hard facts.
Immortal: he is ageless and his wounds heal at many times the normal rate (even to the point of regeneration but not at any speed that could be thought of as a benefit in combat). He needs not eat nor sleep nor breathe. If killed, he returns to earth after a year and a day in death’s house although with temporary amnesia and significantly weakened.
Skills
Combat: he’s practiced only with pole-arms and more recently handguns. That said, his skill in both can only be described as average. It’s only his phasing and reflexes that give him an edge.
Technology: Ink has an old world mindset and although he understands what technology is capable of, he has no real knowledge of how to use it. Although anything more complicated than a phone is sure to confuse him, he knows enough to use his unique talents and some simple tricks to bypass most modern security.
Physics: although most modern technology is confusing to Ink, he seems to have an intuitive sense of physics and how things work. Although he cannot fly, he can use his phasing (and it’s massless properties) to ricochet off surfaces and extend hang time to the something that’s almost indistinguishable from flight.
Weaknesses/restrictions
No entry restriction: He may not enter any active mortal dwelling unless he has spoken or unspoken permission to do so. (Unspoken permission includes welcome mats and open doors/windows)
Kill restriction: He cannot kill unless told to do so by royal blood
True name: if someone knows his true name than they have power over him, essentially becoming his master. He must follow any order they give him (but cannot kill for them unless they are of royal blood). He must follow their orders for as long as they live or at least as long as they know his true name.
Nondisclosure: he may not reveal the future to anyone save those who already have a perfect view of the future.
Cold Iron: Iron weapons that have been forged without heat are more effective against him than any other kind of weapon (though they don’t affect him while he is phasing.)
Holy weapons: holy weapons are more effective against him than most others (though they don’t affect him while he is phasing.), though the wielder must be devote and strong of faith to have any effect.
Salt: pure salt is effective against most spirits and Ink is no exception. A circle of salt is an effective barrier against him and contact with pure salt burns him (usually superficial though very aggravating).
Magic: Ink is just as susceptible to magic attacks as a standard human (or wolf).
Exorcism: Ink can be banished through exorcism, but due to the lengthy nature of the ceremony and the unique strength of Ink’s will, this may not always be effective. Especially if the person preforming the exorcism isn’t sufficiently holy and strong of faith. If Exorcised, he remains banished to the house of death for at least thirteen days and possibly longer.

As a side note, SB, I also play 3.5. Tell me, what’s your favorite class so far?
I have an idea. Let's just have everyone put up a character description the way he wants. And in the end, we decide on the best method and convert the descriptions to that method. Until that (and to piss off SB (nah, just kidding)), I'll keep making Val's and Claire's the FF approach.

ABILITYaura sense: shes able to pick up on aura users so i guess you can say she can keep tabs on Pico
as for elemental stats i will edit that on a later date when i figure them out
Well Ink, I'm going to be Frank with you and say…I've covered a lot of wars, you know.
Ah, but in all seriousness 3.5 is a pain for me to adjust to. I've been playing for over 2 years(23 sessions total all in what started as a simple tutorial for a slightly modified AD&D; campagin. I play as a warrior and have 5 other members join us.) however due to one of our members(a half orc) killing a innocent city gent by throwing him out a bar window at three in the afternoon,(his alignment went changed, got arrested and then teleported out of the prison using a gem he hid in his butt and now is hiding among his people) we now found out that the goverment of one of the most holiest cities is corrupt and now need to right its wrongs all while preparing for a major battle with a bunch of monsters that are coming back to reclaim the land our ancestors drove them out of 300 yrs. ago. So, yeha that's on hold for the moment.
One of our friends are planing trying to DM his first using 3.5 rules(all the while I have to learn all this addional stuff. I've only got so much down) We'll see how the learnnig session goes this Friday after I roll everything up (its mostly to teach him how to DM)

As for Characters this is Shadowblade at the begining of what was Zot
-
Master of Zot, Shadowblade
Appearance:being a contradiction, Shadowblade doesn't really have a form, but chooses to take the shape of man as all incarnations have before him. his face is not that special, but some of it is concealed by his head wear. hereally likes to wear a lot of black. usual attire concists of black shirt, Jeans, shoes, trenchcoat, Sunglasses, gloves, a scarf he wears on what he deems a "good day"(red or white) and Fedora with a red(majority) white(curved stripe that seperates) and Black tipped feather.once and a blue moon he'll wear a necklace. does has other outfits and sometimes wears them. Least favorite:The Suit.
Personality: Shadowblade is one of those guys who is kind of laid back. He doesn't mind being a boss, though he prefers to be everone's friend. he always looks for New Members and trys to bring out the best in anyone. As for Shadowblade himself; He has a love/hate relationship with himself for various reasons that have happened in the past and wishes to improve. he has seen and knows a lot from his so-called "traveling". Aside from that he spends he occasionally does what anyone would. read, relax, socialize, and play games. Although, it has been know that at times he plays to long and has to be heavily sedated and or tied up. There isone thing though he believes in. Everyone deseves a Second chance at happiness.
Strength: Current incarnation: unknown as of having no real combat experience and levels can not be determined at this time. It is presumed that of what one would call a "Final Boss."
Speed: current incarnation: Unknown.
Intellengence: Much.
Stamina: Despite doing that of what a person would do it is not really required. He mearly Eat, drinks, and sleeps for fun and to be polite around others.
Magic: doesn't know many attack spells, however is very skilled with reviving others knowing many forbidden ways to do it(in other words spell that have no cost and are long forgotten)
Items: he has many.* currently in possesion: 13 Various swords that his previous states have used. A portable container with liquified quintessence in it. One broken multiversal generator. several spare crystals, and many alcoholic beverages.
*see weaknesses
Powers/Abilites
Shadow Manipulation: can hide himself in the shadows of various things from objects to people and occasionly extend his own for sneak attacks from behind.can also use this to forge physical objects such as,clothing, tables and chairs.
Portals: known to use to travel and retirve things from almost anywhere. for larger distances to retrieve others, travel he uses Dimension S .
Dimension S: a place he forged long ago. Reason long forgotten.
Tendrils: Parts of Shadowblade that remain hidden, can be used to grab, ensnare, subdue, assualt and (what its usualy known for doing)impale. for what ever reason the tendrils tend to do more damage to the energies that are in a creature rather than that of the wound it makes.
Blade Dancing: can make a swords out of his being and toss them. Occasionly as a barrier or cage. Very Durable but has no special properties to it.
Regeneration: body can heal very fast and benifits in combat. however under special circumstances can this be stopped*.
Final Form*: Appearance changes dramatically as his attire changes from black to white with what appears to be black thorns on it. Power increases dramatically along with speed and has acess to other worldy energies placed in it. has only been used once.
Skills
Combat: knows some hand-to-hand and versatile with various weapons. Sword fighting, however is his specitality and is one of the few traits that remained constant in all incarnations.
Forging: has the knowhow and can create artifical souls, new bodies, and enchant weapons/items with quintessence.
Magic: Shadowblade has a fair amount of experience with magic and better experience magical objects. he even goes as far as using magic to power several forms of technology. the Tower being one of them.
Technology: Above average understanding, of all gizzmos and gadgets he has either used or been assualted with. prefers using the more entertaining ones, such as consoles and computers.
Chemistry: can do it, but no where near Doc's level.
Weaknesses/Limitations:
Vivid Memories: While Shadowblade has done much not everything carries over from past lives. he can remember how to swing a Sword but not the use of other weapons. He knows there is something more to Dimension S but doesn't remember exactly what. He knows he's fought a great deal, but only because he's past selves were vain enought to record each hunt/fight they have had. Sometimes the fights will trigger memories of the full senario of went on, but the occasion that has happened is few. He has a great deal of stuff, the problem being he doesn't know where most of it is. Aside from what he placed at Zot and one or 2 places that may or may not even be around anymore.
Seperation form Dimension S: there are few things that can stop Shadowblade. seperating him from Dimension S is one. It is unknown why, but Dimension S is somehow connected to him. If he chooses to not use it to travel a huge Distance or move something huger than an average size being it can tear him apart and cause him to breakdown and possibly even erase him completely.
Ego: Shadowblade is one of those people that feel nothing can go wrong cause he's lived the and done the worst and already knows how to prevent it. he forgets at times that not everything revolves just around him and his decisions effect others too. he will set up cameras for big battles or events and watch them later. sometimes for info other times for fun.
The Urge to Kill: For some reason every incarnation of Shadowblade just loves to fight, kill, and sometimes asorb people for fun. some occasons he has no problems and can spar with ease, others times he swears he hears his previous selves calling out for blood. he fights this daily and hesitates in some situations. hoping that fighting would be the last resort.
Final Form: while powerful in the state, it can only be held for so long naturally. If held for an exceedingly long amont of time, after powering down, the body will become fatuige, temporaily unusable, and has a slim chance of even forcing the body to take a new form if he strains himself or moves around too much.

Dear lord, that was a lot. thank heavens the others characters as long a page. So when does everyone want to begin? cause even I want to get this started soon.
Awww that's a shame , but understandable. he runs a comic and we don't know what goes on in his personal life. At least we know he'll be joining us at some point.(hopefully after the intro Arc) In anycase is there anything else anyone wants to add before I get the Zot reboot up and running?
As a matter of fact, yes. What exactly do you intend with the reboot? New story arc or a complete rerun of Zot? I really wouldn't recommend the latter. It was overall a good RP and just because of some less amusing events, we shouldn't abandon that past. Mistakes are not there to be ignored and forgotten. Additionally, we should have at least a voting for the way that reboot is going to happen (if it doesn't consist of starting everything anew). Because, Metroid here, Castlevania there, every story has already been told one way or another and I don't see the reason in turning the (IMO) best and most logical option down just because it shows similarities to one or a few games. Also, I don't think such an important plot twist should be done by something trivial as a freak lab accident. In these cases, the plot either has to revolve around it or else it sounds weak (again, just my opinion). Gimme at least the consolation that my plot device was voted down by popular demand instead of the opinion of one.
Well, to be honest I don't know. I have a faint idea with somethings written down on what I want to do diffrent but at the same time I feel a majority of it should be the same. I never planed on discarding anything bit of a story arc we have wrote(not even the flaws. I love it all too much. this thing has brought and made us better in some way and has grown with us i know I'm not the only one who goes back and reads the stuff we wrote). Also, I'd like to say that this is not a dictatorship and we accept all ideas for concideration(after all everyone has a say in this seeing how they all have contributed). Sorry if it seemed if I shot it down too quickly. I'd also like to add that I'm leaning with my overly complex idea(as I still have things that have not been worked out)
I agree that the event needs a strong plot to go with it, and several stories/ideas 7 out if 10 come from other stories/games just with additional content(we've been doing it for ages), but there are still problems within the main story that will lead us to an eventual wall.
As for voting, I do feel it may help us with the situation and which road we want to take with all of this.
