Whelp. I did not have plot for the FYC pages planed out going in. So I'm going to be lazy and have a contest.
As a reminder, the first plot was "Wowio will shut down the awards unless money is raised" and the second was "Niccea, the MC has gone missing and must be found for the show to go on."
Rules:
Send me your plot
Plot should be easy to be inclusive for all participants
Deadline April 30th
Voting will be held shortly afterward.
Of course, this is not to interupt discussion of other planning. We need to have the categories fleshed out pretty soon.

2015 DD Awards: Planning
Okay then.
Plot idea 1: Do to budget cuts the Drunk Duck Awards will no longer provide gold plated caviar powered limos! Now all FYC's need to make there OWN way to the awards!
Plot Idea 2: Well since the last venue got wrecked after that thing during the afterparty and then kinda blown up. We now need to find a new venue!
Best Drama. Usedbooks totally convinced me.
Buuuut put back in best couple/pair. It could be hero and sidekick or romantic couple.
And what about the best non-traditional use of medium for comics that aren't created traditionally (i.e> drawn) It could also replace best 3D/poser?
As for an FYC plotline I like the trying to find a new venue because we destroyed the last few. Anyone remember the dinosaur back in 2012? No one wants to rent us a hall, from the big theaters down to the Local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall). That could lead to a series of silly suggestions like a Go-go bar, a maid cafe, someone's High School, El Cid's basement and so on.
How about someone's backyard? That could lead to a theme for the presentations.
Everything noted Bravo.
Only concern about use of non traditional medium is that we combined best Color and Best Black and white into Best Use of Medium. I think we can do something that will include different medium comics, but I think we are going to have to work out new name for one category or the other. Unless we want to change the names to Best Use of Traditional Medium and Best Use of Non-Traditional Medium. In addition, need to clearly define the difference between non-traditional and tradional in the discription.
JustNoPoint tried to cheat and see who wins early. He creates a time machine that malfunctions sending everyone on DD to different time periods. Now it's up to them to find their way back to their own timeline and get to the awards!
Ideas could include but not be limited to: Characters going into the past and living all the years it takes to get to the awards again.
Raiding old awards.
Dr Who references galore!
Going into the future and living it up in the FIXED DD!!! :o
Would need 1 page to start it off and 1 page to finish the story where something happens to correct it. Maybe Niccea goes back in time 1 minute before I mess everything up and bonks me on the head or something.
Niccea, Are you on Facebook? You really need to promote this stuff in the DD group as well. I would promote this but it's the last day. I'll try to keep an eye out better.
So, here are our contestants for the FYC plotline contest. Submit your votes to me by May 10th.
SnowTheHedgehog: WOWIO or the Drunk Duck Corporation or whatnot need a new (insert job name), now's your chance to apply!
Kou The Mad: The Zombie Army of Ghenghis Khan invades and steal the awards.
CallMeTom: Plot idea 1: Do to budget cuts the Drunk Duck Awards will no longer provide gold plated caviar powered limos! Now all FYC's need to make there OWN way to the awards!
CallMeTom: Plot Idea 2: Well since the last venue got wrecked after that thing during the afterparty and then kinda blown up. We now need to find a new venue! Addon by Bravo1102: No one wants to rent us a hall, from the big theaters down to the Local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall)
KAM: Space aliens, or a mega corporation, or a mega corporation run by space aliens, is looking to take control of some intellectual property that they can use to promote their ideas and make money so they're analyzing various Drunk Duck comics as potential properties to buy and conquer the world with.
JustNoPoint: JustNoPoint tried to cheat and see who wins early. He creates a time machine that malfunctions sending everyone on DD to different time periods. Now it's up to them to find their way back to their own timeline and get to the awards!

So, I added Best Drama and removed Best Romance in a comic.
If we want to add another character award, like Best Couple (romance or otherwise), we need to define it very clearly. It was a headache with the ballots that last time we ran that one.
Also I know there has been a mention of scraping out Best 3D/Poser and using Best Use of Non-Traditional Medium. This is also something that would need some further definition.
Finally, after running it for a couple of years, what is the general opinion of the Create Your Own Award.
Thanks to Call Me Tom for getting the first page for the FYCs together.
FYC's will be accepted until during the first week of voting.

Last call to make changes to categories (and to help with a short description for the Drama A.ward)
I have a description for the Drama category. Please let me know if I'm off base. I was not the one who originally wrote any of the descriptions for the awards and I need the feed back. I used the blurb from usedbooks' argument for adding the category to create the description.
A story focused on a real world setting and is character-driven with a focus on emotions. Courtroom dramas, medical dramas, crime dramas, romantic dramas, high school dramas (but when is high school not dramatic?), etc.
I did not add anything for a couple or duo award this time around. The time I ran this one was a real headache when it came to counting the ballots, and I didn't feel like it has been fleshed out enough to add it back into the awards yet. Also, we have the same amount of awards that we did last year, and due to the social loafing, I don't like to add more. Now, if anyone comes in here and posts that another category needs to be added, I might be able to make some last minute changes to the ballot, but I would perfer if another category was subtracted or changed. For example, getting rid of Best Manga that underperformed last year and replacing it with something else.
I'd say to use discretion on categories and what is judged based on vote results. Not enough votes, drop the category. If there's only one nominee getting significant votes (or a dozen ties for second), don't put the category through a judging panel; just award that winner. (Save some headaches and can help decide categories for next year.)
