Rant, Moan and Rave - 2010 edition
I feel so dis-illusioned, dissapointed, and down. I started Forum Fighters up again, gave it a big intro and stuff, had really high hopes for it this time around. But, no ones voted. There seems to be no one showing interest, except the crew themselves. Should I just quit on it, what did I do wrong here?

Didn't finish it but the new Star Trek movie was not promising in the ten minutes I watched. Looked terrible. Don't know. Never really watched the Trek anyway.

Often hard to distinguish between. Black comedy focuses on seeing humor where it's often not appropriate, like funerals and death. Often it criticizes the status quo by creating skewed versions of it. There's usually not that much thought behind shock value humor, just the intent of shocking the audience.

weather says there's going to be storms. but the radar shows the storms passing us by at least a hundred miles on either side. i hate it when there are no storms.
i'm out of drawing paper. i didn't realize i had so little. now i have to convince my wife it's a good investment.
Wow… bad day today. I missed yesterday's update, locked my keys in my car AND in my house, and
now the worst has happened. My coffeemaker broke. Rather, the pipes are clogged. So now I've
poured vinegar into the thing. Hopefully it'll dissolve all that white gunk I found in there.
Then I gotta rinse out the thing so my coffee won't taste like it's been pickled.
Waitaminute… that's not a new coffee flavor, is it?
I dislike shock humor in comics and rl movies. i usually find the movies too stupid to watch and shock humor comics don't make me laugh (over the top like electric retard does though). But when it's an animated series i find it pretty funny if there's no gore.
Still have that one homework to do, yay my enternal god damned procrasination.

Just barely got to start my research paper because apparently today was the day my sister decided she needed to bullshit on my computer for 5 hours because as a senior, she can procrastinate alllll she wants at my expense. My paper's not technically due until next week, but if you hand it in on Wednesday, you get extra credit and I'd kind of like some extra credit.
Ughh. You know you goof your way through college prep high school too much when you can whip out a 4 page research paper in a day on a single motif… I don't know why every paper we write has to be a minimum of 3 pages nowadays, since I think a lot of the material gets lost in rambling after a while. Oh well, I've done it before with a higher page requirement and worse topics. I got this.

Wow… they're going easy on you these days. My paper was a minimum of 10 pages if I remember correctly.
Biology class sucked back in the day though. Teachers put you to sleep, we had outdated textbooks and
had to bring in our own supplies. My mother didn't make things easier on me… I wasn't allowed to drive
or go anywhere by myself 'til I graduated high school. T_T
eh… memories. At least my coffee maker is working again and my comic page is halfway done. Now if only I can fight off sleep so I can finish. I can drink all the coffee I want, but it won't help keep me awake (for some odd reason, caffiene has no real effect on me… but I still love the taste of coffee). Maybe if I drink thirty or so gallons of those so called hyper energy drinks I keep hearing about…

I was really surprised by this one, actually. I've written longer papers that were much less important to the grade, so I thought this would have been at least 9 pages since that's what it was all about last year. Nope, 4 pages. My English teacher is sort of a hippie though. It'd probably be different if I had history again this year. If I ever have to write a 14 page paper on Henry V again, I'm actually going to die. I'm sure that's gonna start up again Junior year. Hurray, AP classes… >_<

@Grace: Almost all the essays I've done have been 5-6 pages minimum. I'm expecting quite a bit more for UC Davis. But the good thing will be it will be on subjects that go along with my major.
On a different note I had to go to a Mormon Church on sunday so I could write about a religious ritual for an Anth essay. I stucked out like a sore thumb! Everyone was well dressed. All the other men wore slacks, button up white shirts, jackets and ties. All in black, white and grey. They all had short hair and no beards. I on the other hand was wearing jeans, green button up shirt over a black shirt. I had the longest hair among the guys in the room and I had the only beard. I got alot of second looks.
I really wish I could just…pause time. I would pause time, but have my computer and my iPod with me. I would listen to my iPod whilst I work on my Charles & Viktor pages, then begin time again. That way, it'd be like in the blink of an eye that I got them all done!

Of course, this is reality.

*walking in the street*I suppose that's more akin to black humor. Here you have the established norm of that boyscout act of helping a lady across the street, ending in a tragedy. If it turns out that the old lady didn't want to go either and the person helping her wasn't listening to her, it might even be funnier since the reader would then think that would be the joke and be even more surprised when the truck would hit them out of the blue.

Of course the violence part has a shock element to it so it's a bit of both. Shock humor is usually more offensive though.
