Sounds like Australia's full of American frat boy rejects.
I have nothing more to add.

There was never a Voltron, there were only Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV (had to look up full titles but I remembered GoLion/Dairugger XV).
The Lion "voltron" is obviously GoLion and the vehicle one is Dairugger… and the name Voltron was just invented for the American dub that somehow tried to link the two series.
Same as with Robotech being actually Macross, Southern Cross and some third series I forgot the title of.

Today was slow with sketching (only one character and reassigned the "face" from another to yet another one, heh) but that's ok, I'll try to catch up in the evening.
Meanwhile I'm watching my buffer run dry… got only 11 pages left, which is about a month of updates :(

I keep having a re-curring dream. Basically I take a class at college but I never go to it for one reason or another. So my parents are basically paying for a class i haven't attended in a month, yet i'm too afraid to actually show up or tell them. There's no way for me to pass the class either. It's a borderline nightmare really.
Ok Oz, you totally have to bring me vegemite when you come to the States. I've been hearing about this stuff for like, four years or something. It's time.I shall take a small jar- aged to just the right taste.
Last time I took over those little plastic tub things with the foil tops- BIG mistake. Those tasted foul… sharp, icky, like salty acid.
Generally I think if you like beer and things like Kalamata olives and capers and stuff, then you might like Vegemite.
I like the daily routine thing here…
OK, I see where this is going. Ozone's daily routine:
Get up.
Pee.
pee.
pee.

pee.
Post something assholish on the DD forums (check)
pee.
Go to bed.

I guess that was the practice in the 80s. Animation studios cut and paste foreign animation and put it all out for kids to see it. Even the Power Rangers suffer from this. Voltron had certain scenes cut out and we were told all the aliens that were suffering were androids. Man, I was a gullible kid… Robotech was three seperate animation series pasted together, but thanks to censors lots of stuff got cut out (like that scene after Fokker got hit there was a lot of blood on his fighter's seat, and a lot more on his back when he was at his girlfriend's place).
Also, Voltron isn't very remembered in Japan (where it came from) because when it came out there were a ton of giant robot shows already out there, and kids were feeling burnt out by the overwhelming number of them. Meanwhile, the kids in the U.S. have never seen a lot of giant robot shows, so when "Voltron" shows up they were floored by what they saw. I wish I had known about the amount of butchering the series had recieved at the hands of censors, though…

There's something about poetry lately that's been gripping me by the throat. The way poets have of arranging the ink on a page… it makes me jealous. But who am I kidding? I'm such a bleeding heart, I was never born wax poetic about it. Ce la vie.
"Poetry is truth in its Sunday clothes."

Yeah, when summer comes along I'll have the Holidays, but they don't start until December. I have a logn wait until then, its winter and I'm freezing my arse off.
And haha, yes I have a cat, I've got lots of animals. But she's the most amusing, her name is Poo and she would like to see Fugly, but she's been locked out of the study room where we're keeping him.
——–
Speaking of Fugly, he's doing much better. He's completely weened off baby food, and is eating lots of seed. I think he might have broken both legs, because he doesn't use them or grasp with either of his feet. But he's getting around on his elbows, using his wings for stability, its actually kind of funny. His Fungal infection has cleared up, and we're definately going to keep him.
Mum wants to rename him.
I keep telling her, Fugly is what he is and Fugly is his name.

Totally signed up for Mafia because I give into peer pressure like a pro and I thought "I'm on here all the time anyway, so I might as well."

You don't tell ANYONE your role.
You run for mayor. (or leader of sometype)
You vote to lynch the bad guys, (or the innocent if you're bad)
Don't tell anyone your role.
Do your night action if you have one.
Don't tell anyone about fight club.

I think the kidney stone is on the move. But i'm not sure.
Thaaaankyou Seventy, I've steadily piecing together what is happening.
Oh and on the subject of your kidney stone.
It's moving south for the Winter.
It's summer here. a very warm and cold one at that.
I don't care about the pain, the sooner it's out the better. I hate office work, and if it leaves i can pull a 6 month deployment. It's gonna be awesome. so i'm rooting for it. but i don't know how a kidney stone is supposed to feel. I've heard everything from "crippling pain" to "oh hey look! a kidney stone in the toilet, well whattya know!"
Testing out a brand new machete I bought (after I shattered the last one which was made in China). Gotta love that feeling…. wrapping the hand around that nicely shaped handle, raising the blade into the air, then watching as everything in front of you comes apart… from showers of woodchips to spurts of thick white sap…
Ah… nothing feels greater than clearing an overgrown lawn (thanks to plants that grow several feet high per week thanks to the rain)… and the sound of my 22 inch Machete going right through the vegetation like a hot knife through butter. Well… it'll sound that way 'til it's dulled when I use it enough… :)
If that kidney stone doesn't come out, maybe I can use my brand new swinging blade to cut it out?
My daily routine(shouldn't this be its own thread? Oh well):
Wake up
Try to go back to sleep
Cat notices I'm awake
Cat makes sure I stay up
Get dressed
Eat a bagel
Go to art class
Come home
Eat a peanut butter sandwich
Internet/Spider Solitaire time
Work on art while watching movies/tv shows/youtube videos
Scrape together dinner(if I remember)
Work
More internet time
Shower
Eat fruit
Sleep
wow… I guess I'll be working on Magiversity. Hopefully this tablet won't give me too much trouble. It feels very different from my last tablet…
heh… I should really be careful with this pen nib. The Digipro does a good job at drawing… except that it feels rough on the pad and has no eraser function (forcing me to select the eraser from the toolbox)…
Robotech was three seperate animation series pasted together, but thanks to censors lots of stuff got cut out (like that scene after Fokker got hit there was a lot of blood on his fighter's seat, and a lot more on his back when he was at his girlfriend's place).Oh yeah… I was a Robotech tragic. STIll am in a lot of ways, though I never went so far as to get the video games or the crappy comics or even the crappy novels- just the cartoons and a couple of toys.
I've bought and watched the entire series of both Super Dimension Cavalry of the Southern Cross (or whatever it's called), and Mospeeda Genesis climber in their original formats. So I know all the bits that were cut out and changed around. They're not bad, but the conversion they did to make them into Robotech did actually improve them, if you can believe it.
The only thing that's better about seeing the originals is that some of the details of the technology and weapons, social structures of the societies, costume details etc make much more sense.
As for Macross (the first series of Robotech), I've only seen the hacked up video they made of it ("Do You Remember Love"), not the full series. It was pretty good though!
Late last year I bought the remastered full set re-release of Robotech and I'm still slowly working my way though it. They left in ALL of the previously censored stuff, so there're lots of nude scenes in the shower, panty-shots, any cheeky sexy stuff, blood, people dying. None of that is cut, which is nice.
The only thing I didn't like what that they changed the original opening and closing credit scenes so instead of showing stuff from all series along with those cool sound effects on the original, now they only show scenes from the original series that you're watching and the sound effects are lame.
It's a shame since the original opening and closing credits of Robotech were almost better than the show itself.
I think the kidney stone is on the move. But i'm not sure.
Kidney stone, ouch. Had one about ten years back, when it passed through it was agony. After it came out I had to take it in for the doc, he just says "I should have given you better pain relief." No kidding. If giving birth is half as painful no wonder women complain.
If that kidney stone doesn't come out, maybe I can use my brand new swinging blade to cut it out?
I'm trying to determine if that'll cause more problems than it's worth…

mines 3mm. most docs have said "it's going to be pretty painless". I don't know if they meant as far as kidney stones go, or it's actually not going to hurt that much. They also don't know if it's ever going to leave my kidney. sometimes my ureter kinda hurts. maybe. It could all be psychosomatic.
maybe. It could all be psychosomatic.
If it does end up hurting, it'll be self-evident that it's not in your head. I've been told when kidney stones are painful, they are painful. I don't really think it's something you'll be able to miss.
On the other hand, that's a relatively small kidney stone. And it sounds like you got a good prognosis from the doctors, too. That's always good. :)

I've been listening to a lot of Louis Armstrong lately. Stumbled upon the "Summertime" duet with Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong and I just about had an orjazzsm. It's that good.
The kids are having fun with it too. We've been learning to swing dance together. We push the coffee table and the armchair up against the wall and have a regular throw down right in the middle of our living room floor.
On a related note, I'm pretty sure my neighbors think we're lunatics…
OFaV, I just realized something:
It's Thursday, about 6 in the morning for me right now. Using my (rusty) math skills, it's somewhere around 9 o'clock at night on Thursday for you.
Which means you've already lived through this Thursday, and I have yet to experience it.
So….
Was this Thursday interesting? Because if it wasn't, let me know and I think I'm gonna go ahead and go on back to bed now.
