The laptop was two years old but I don't have a replacement warranty on it because it was a replacement for my last laptop. Luckily my husband works during the day and I can borrow his and I updated my external a couple of months ago. Don't have all my files from my computer, but I have most of the ones that matter.
Had some seriously evil toothache, managed to get an emergency denist today which was surprisng as it's a bank holiday. Now pain free but still feeling a little worse for wear. Need to catch up on sleep and hopefully the fever will pass soon.
Also in an art slump. Seriously considering abandoning all my comic projects bar Lite bites. With Equivocate there are too many things I'm not happy with. With Malefic my writier, or co writer or whatever has had to drop from itdue to other more important commitments, In theory that wouldn't be an issue, i can continue it without him easy enough. the question is, do I want too? I started it as a practice comic and while I have grown attached to it I don't have any real drive for it. At least i can finish Underbelly. I've got a new project in the works, it's part of the reason i started doing comics in the first place. the question is shall i drop everything else to do that? I'm thinking yes but at the same time I have put a lot of time and effort into the others and it's sad to let them die.

But
seriously, you need to do what YOU want to. If this new project is IT
then the others can be considered to have served their various purposes
(for now, anyway).
Yeah, the danger of doing webcomics is that you start doing it ONLY for the readers. Suddenly you find yourself with a 800+ page comic that you lost interest in at page 100 but had to keep doing because of the fans, top lists and ad revenue.
As selfish as it may seem, there's gotta be something in it for YOU aswell. If you just squeeze pages out and get nothing from it, it's time to move on with another comic that you feel passionate about.
woke up and we have power back – yay!!! and it looks like the roads are clear, or at least more are. lots of oak trees tipped, and invariably took out a transformer with it (like the hurricane and the trees were in collusion).
so we're OK, but we got about 15 inches of water in our basement: it Had been finished, but the carpet will never smell right again. Don't know if the furnace, dryer and washer are operational or not. the sectional is a goner.
and just the electrical? water got into the outlets, so maybe it's a question of just dring out?
of course I'm typing from my work laptop because my "druckduck" pc had to be disconnected and moved and I'm not sure where or when it can be set up right away. So the radio files are safe - but inaccessible for the next few days.
meantime, yesterday and today are Perfect late summer Jersey weather, some of the best days of the year. the last thing I want to do is cut up a smelly carpet in a basement.
Wow… I wish I had animation skills. Then I'd use them to create an animated Magiversity video around the music used in the Weber Grill commercials. And seeing what time period Magivesity takes place in, the Weber Grill would be very ancient magical artifact indeed… enough to make Minna sick (she can eat meat… she just has a bad aversion to it). :)
Here's THE COMMERCIAL
And here's that song… the FULL VERSION
Listening to this almost makes me want to dance… ALMOST… :)

so That's what happened to them.
this is more fun that going through smelly wet things – I should wait until they're smelly Dry things, right?
note: the text editor refused to let me comment on my preference for posting -even when my eyes are being burned- than for handling smelly things.
Has Wowio called in an exorcist; because I have suspicions at this point
Heh… that's a fun thing about typhoons/hurricans, I guess… going through your things and deciding which is salvagable and which is not. I'd throw away any soaked beds and couches unless you know someone who can clean them up so thoroughly that they can even take out that black mold that will grow in and on them eventually, poisoning you in the process. Lost quite a few of my favorite books with Typhoon Pongsona came to visit me back in 2002 as well as the roof of my house…
Well, typhoons seem more likely this year now thanks to that monsoon hovering over my head. And our rainy weather will probably continue past September. I'm not looking foward to driving through flooded roads and the rainy weather that will probably last for days on end.
And I'd wait 'til they're dry… unless they're books. If you don't seperate those pages while they're wet, they'll be stuck together when they dry and you'll need to get a specialist to work on them to separate the pages again.
Yeah Lite bites is sticking around and is not affected. :)

It's the one we discussed not too long ago, not sure how soon it will launch though still working on bits but now an working on it in earnest.
Heh.. this game "Record of Agarest War" is getting tough. It's a Strategy RPG type game where you play five protagonists in five generations (you choose your bride at the end of the story arc, and the next protagonist will have stats which are determined by who you chose to marry). I'm at the second "dungeon" of the game. Think of the standard RPG dungeon where you move around and explore except that the random battles are strategy turn based battles and such.
This game doesn't explain to me one thing… what happens to the bride? I know at the end of the story arc the protagonist ends up sacrificing his soul to strengthen an ancient magical seal that keeps an evil diety in check, but no mention of the bride going along with that is made anywhere in the game… but the bride's soul joining him is the only logical reason why she wouldn't appear in the next generation I think. In fact, in the first generation of the game one of the brides comes from a long lived race of elven-like people… Her brother goes on to help the protagonist of the second generation but no mention is ever made of his mother.
Well… enough posting. Back to slagging my way through this first dungeon to fight the boss at the end named the "Jumbo Cock"… which happens to be a giant rooster moster… Luckily he's level 10, and my party is 1 level away from being on equal ground with him… though I'll probably keep grinding 'til I've got the overwhelming advantage against it (whoever said battles are meant to be fought fairly has probably never fought in a war before)…
Too bad PS3 owners in America will never get this game due to Sony of America's policy to never release a Japanese game without English dubbing. Don't know if it's the same with other countries…
So glad our US eastcoasters came through their storm ok ^_^
I'm also glad that lovely city of NY wasn't damaged too much!
—————————–
So how do you store clothes so they wont suffer damage of some kind?
Yesterday I finally put away all my clothes from my trip to the US and in the process went through and threw out older stuff that I never wear anymore to make room.
I had wollen jumpers all stretched out of shape from being on hangers too long, and (previously white) T-shirts in drawers that had gone yellowish with age… plus moth or sliverfish eaten things as well. Some of that stuff was over 22 years old!
The older stuff was all way too big for me now- it's all stretched out, and I also used to stupidly wear stuff that was too big for me anyway, so I could never wear that shit now.
Anyway- hung clothes can get stretched out or molded to a hanger and clothes in drawers can get eaten or stained by the stuff in the wood of the drawer and I'm sure clothes in plastic bags can also be stained by the chemicals in the plastic. They'll also get compressed with horrible hard to remove creases. And mothballs make things unwerably stinky.
So how DO you keep clothes for long periods?
Loosely-packed airtight clip-lock bins under the bed. I probably should have lined them with tissue or something though, I didn't think of the plastic staining the clothes. Then again I haven't looked at those clothes in years which kind of makes me wonder why I bother keeping them.
Gosh blast and fudging buttons, I wanna start up a comic again but I am in about 7 different minds which one of my old projects to ressurect. I keep on jamming me altogether into too many diffferent pies (not like in that movie, you understand) and coming out of it all disorientated with nothing to show for meself, save for a metaphorical bin full of scrunched up paper. Oooo I did a rant! :)
In other news, Doctor Who is back on T.V. whoop whoop.
