Breaking the Ice - That little storyline that just ended was really awesome - I've been reading it since the beginning, and this page is a nice closer to it. Nice work!

Blood Groove just updated with a whole new set of playmates for Pan-Inc. Yay Friends!

Combatron Space Warrior updates today. Combatron vs Atomikus. Round 1: FIGHT!

Posted at

Combatron: Space Warrior I like the colouring on this update, it's nice and consistent.

The Chronicles of Wyrden updates today with a little example of how some folks get around in style.

One of my favorite styles of art is engravings, woodcuts, and pen and ink illustration from the Victorian era. So yeah, seeing comic art that's reflective of this always makes me smile.

The first couple of pages are pretty striking. It's almost as if Joseph Clemont Coll was hired to do a Tijuana Bible loosely based on a forgotten Oscar Wilde story. I'd definitely like to delve deeper into what happens next.

I've made two updates today. "Air Raid Robertson" gets a new page which details the latest problem he faces after crashing his plane in a rain forest.

I also added another page to "Father Will Come And Set Me Free". Today's focal point is on The Second Horseman of the Apocalypse. Horsie Number Three will be up here tomorrow, and Horsie Number Four follows tomorrow. (As well as a new Capital of Helsinki strip)

Busy week for me.

I dig the art style for Air Raid Robertson. Good solid line work and color scheme.

@$$hole!: Today we make fun of movies! I'm starting to think that this comic hasn't been featured yet because they can't put swear words in the titles on the main page….even if they're "bleeped" out.

I don't ever remember reading this comic, but I'm sure glad I did. I really like it, (not just because of the boobies) especially how the only thing in color is the blood, it really stands out.

___________

Apocalypse 2030: Chapter One officially starts today. In the beginning of this chapter Vince dreams into the future of strange zombie-like beings chewing his skin and drinking his blood. But this is less of a dream and more of a reality than he thinks!

WWE The Comic: Finlay holds the Boogeyman off, but not for long.

Wow! That Apocalypse 2030 is looking really interesting so far. Usually, I'm not one for Poser comics seeing as they aren't very well done IMO. This one though, shows potential. The people don't look like lifeless zombies forced into a position. For now, I'm not so certain about the story with so little pages right now. But from what I've seen, it has promise!

Good job you two!

……..

Two page update, hooray!

Joseph (Exile) catches the ball! But his true intentions are shown when he throws it back. Shock and awe!

Wow, good art and even better coloring. Honestly, although I try, I usually have trouble warming up to manga-inspired comics but Doug N Exile caught my attention right away. The page composition is great, the interaction between characters is convincing and their individual expressions are readable as well as dynamic and exciting. Also, baseball is wicked awesome.
Take a look:

@Rural Youth - nice to see a comic that doesn't take backgrounds for granted. Also, cool to see some improvement on the art.

———

Combatron(Space Warrior) has a fight between Atomikus and Combatron.

MAG-ISA has a small revalation about the being known as "Claudita".

Posted at

Wow, what a difference in the appearance of those 2 comics… In Combatron, there was an almost classic case of Zerg Rush, while in MAG ISA the effects and art almost made feel the heat of the scene. I'm impressed!

This time, Freakenburg's page shows our friend Mariko in her commie-themed bedroom ranting about Kasumi's behavior… And we're introduced to Mr. Takeda, Mariko's grandfather. Hope you enjoy it!

Gotta go, see you next time, okay? Bye!

@freakenburger - I like the irony of Mariko's argument and all her Communist decorations XD. Really interesting.

On today's page of The Rose Killer, James gets caught in the rain on a desolate street with another beautiful stranger. A very strange stranger. :D

I'm a sucker for a comics artist who has a kickass mastery of graytones, which "The Rose Killer" demonstrates quite vividly.

The panel layouts are very creative and they possess a cinematically emotive charm. There's a series of Sergio Leone-esque close-ups of the characters' faces as a method to build tension, and it is very well executed.

Panel transitions are sharp and professional. The implied passage of time as the rose tumbles through the air and lands on the feet of the victim was a good closer to the prologue.

I also really like the way women are drawn in "The Rose Killer". They have a flapper-period shade of style to them.

….

Speaking of grayscale, I've updated "Father Will Come And Set Me Free". The concluding page of "Revelation #9" is finally up. As expected, it's a splash page of The Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse.

@ Blknight, the last panel on the new update definitely captures the trippiness of being under drugs. go show!

__________________________________________________________________________

after a 3 week hiatus because I went on vacation and then vacation from vacation a new page for bloodhound is up.
Transition from the trippiness of the purple hues of the dance club called "EXIT" to the lights of city night as our female leaves after being dissed by friends. and she isn't afraid to tell the night about it. The page to forever especially the first panel. Some artist superb at drawing a scene in full with all the varied elements and depth. I my head I know what I want but putting it down in one cohesive scene hurts for me. But I can create the elements and put them all together. Which is what happened with panel one. Thanks Gimp and your lovely layering tool.

bloodhound: Wow the art and color style is really breathtaking. I'm intrigued and going to go back and read the back issues. Just gorgeous.

Breaking the Ice updates a little early this week with strip #100 (woohoo!!). To celebrate, I'm also running a little contest and giving away a free BTI t-shirt, so head on over and enter!

Blood/Hound is always visually stunning and the latest page is no exception. Midge seems to delight in experimenting with effects and designs, but never to the detriment of the story-telling. Definitely one to follow!

********************************

EDIT: Oops - cross-posted with Breaking the Ice! Which you should also go see, because it's reached 100 strips and is celebrating with cake. A big cake. The kind that scantily clad women jump out of. Want to see who's jumping out of this one? Of course you do!

*********************************

In Shades on the other hand, we're keeping things old school, as Boudicca finds the roofs of Westminster are as good a place as any for a reunion!

But will the bad guys get away? Only time (and this page) will tell!

Posted at

Shades is a true example of artistic skill here at the Duck. This comic has a really nice comic-book kinda style to it. It actually seems like you're reading one (well, in a way you are. but I'm talking like spider-man/superman kinda comic book). And everything just looks amazing.

I really dig the dynamic paneling on the latest page. Your hand-lettering is a little sloppy, but it doesn't distract too much and seems to fit in with the computer font.
