Dear God, you've stolen my sister's glasses!
And you… YOU have stolen my sister's coat.

Haha that reminds me. The other day I was at the Opticians because they said I needed an eye test, and then as I was leaving after picking out frames, I noticed I'd picked them from the women's section.

Yes! And I stole all the rest of her clothes too!
…if she's under 18 then it was someone else.

lol!
It's an old coat I got from an op-shop when I was in uni.

I suppose I can forgive you for not knowing much about clothes… but the style of coats with a slightly narrow waste only became more exclusively a female style in the 90's.
All throughout time up until the mid 1970's that was one style of coats and jackets for either sex (among many others). In the 1980's all coats lost their waste and in the mid to late 90's a very narrow and high wasted style came in for women, which was basically a reference to some 70's styles.

My coat however is pretty old. The was isn't that narrow and the shoulders a too broad for most women (when seen from behind).

I know my clothes.

Mirrored? Are we talking about the buttons? Correct me if I'm wrong, but women's buttons are usually on the opposite side (the wearer's left) as men's clothing (the right) on account of women used to have other folks dress 'em. Same with belts- a woman's belt is meant to lace around the waist in a clockwise direction, while men's belt are counter-clockwise.

So it may well be a women's coat if this is the case. But it's fairly unisex- I never thought twice about it.

Now I had no idea about that aspect! So I don't know that much afterall. :)

Actually- I made the coat double breasted years ago, but then I stopped liking it. I only recently got round to getting them one sided again and that was the side I picked. I am NOT changing the sides again. -_-

————-

Me sick and pig-headedly arrogant as always…

Me peeved at not knowing that button thing and being made to look the dick I am -_-

…not much of a change in retrospect.

Well, if you don't make a habit of wearing both men and women's clothing, then you probably wouldn't notice!

I only found out because I mix pieces when I wear suits (sometimes women's shirts and vests, since they fit better, and men's pants and jackets) and noticed the discrepency and looked it up. And once someone told me my belt was "backwards"- apparently I wear 'em like a man. Go figure. ;)

It's more a tradition than a hard and fast rule. 18th-19th Century men's pants/breeches often button backwards with no fly hiding the buttons. Then there's the 13 button US Navy drawers.

When the army in the 1980s went from the zipper fly green fatigues to the button fly BDUs (and continued on the new digital thing too) there were groans everywhere.

Lacing military boots they get you with the over-under, over-under thing all going the same direction and then mirrored on the left boot. That's the USMC for you. In the Army you can even skip the eyelets over the bend in the ankle so laces aren't biting into it. I've had some nasty welts there.

I loved my tanker boots. Strapped buckles, no laces. Man was I pissed when the army started letting letting every REMF and even infantrymen(!) wear them as opposed to AFV mounted personnel.

Half of the shoes in my closet are my old boots. Six pairs. lol!

…I shall have to go through my wardrobe and see… I have a few suspicious waistcoats.

As for belts, I have no idea which way is which lol!

Hmm… I must try that with my fave old pair of Aussie Army boots (army surplus store bought- and not army issue).

Button flies are surprisingly more comfortable…

Speaking of boots- playing British bulldogs in knee high riding boots is NOT a good thing to do. It's heavy running, no ankle support and your legs SWIM in sweat.
not a lot of people would notice.
:P I already got shown up as a dick. :)

I've got my tanker boots that I wear everday, with straps instead of laces. (i've given up on laces; much quicker to get these on and off!) Amazingly comfortable, and take a beating well! Plus, American made.

And I support button fly completely, but can never find them in the style that I like. (Peg leg all the way! Gotta fit into yer boots!)

Yeah, clothes are pretty awesome. I got just 5 more lbs to lose before I can fit into my really good stuff again. 10 more before I actually look good in 'em. lol!

Look- I made myself all purtied up and "normal" to go apply for a job! I even wore… get this… makeup! Including… wait for it… foundation*! This is more impressive considering that it's New Orleans, in July.

*At which point I discovered that foundation does not actually cover my "takin' that cheap left hook to the nose" scar.

Thanks, the suit is only 1 of 2 that i have….i bought them both over seas, as the material and tailoring was cheap comparatively…($250 cheaper than in the states)
