$80-$100? that sounds like a lot for my work, but then again she DID ask me based on what she'd seen of my work… gah! I'll see what's goin on with further negotiations…

In other news, over the past 2 days I have walked 30 miles and have slept rough in a pine forest.
Naw. They can always talk you down. But don't lowball yourself! Besides, you command respect by projecting confidence. If you say you're work is worh $x, people tend to believe it. And if they've asked you to do this for money, they obviously think highly of you. Go for it.

if this is a LARGE company, i'd say maby collect royalties instead. but otherwise, i'd really stick with what Heyena Hell said.

i just watched the video of Neda dying in the protest. i watched it out of respect and i beleive it will bring more attention to what's going on over there. but also, i cant bring myself to draw my ussual material for Putrid. i was gonna have Bones get shot in the head in the next page and i'm finding it very hard to even think about.it may be neccisary for understanding something in the story, but lord, i cant bring myself to do it right now.
i'm sure i'll do it again soon, but it's very hard right now.maby that's good.either way, my brain's starting to kick back in and find ways around this as im typing thiss o we'll see what happens.

Yeah, I've seen that.

What's happening in Iran right now is really… well, it's an understatement, but for lack of a better word, upsetting to me. It's very hard for me to watch it without getting emotional. But that's when I get so angry and so outraged and so desperate to do something that I start obsessively following these kinds of stories, and making art about them.

Yeah, that Iran situation is very disappointing. The regime had a chance to redeem itself in the eyes of the world and they completely F***ed it. They're just a bunch of scared, reactionary old bastards. Same with conservatives everywhere.

At least the world has a chance to see that Iranians are human too now and not just a bunch of mindless fanatics or some such fantasy image like that.

Been drawing a lot of non-comic stuff, it's really nice to be able to draw a ferocious dragon and rider and then switch over to android secret agent when i'm tired of drawing scales

Sometimes i wonder if i should start drawing furry though. It's apparently insanely easy to get high paying commissions from furrys, seriously this one guy paid 70$ for this hideous naga drawing that look like it took 5mins plus some hand lotion and rumpled kleenex.(i wish i could find it, ugh damn web of folders)

I'm so sick of that aspie fucktard pedo sysop! :gem: I wish someone would go to his house in Sweden and burn it down, along with his shitty spammer server forum and 60gb of child pornography. RAEG

I really wanna draw I really wanna draw I really wanna draw
IREALLYWANNF**KENDRAW!!!

But as I've whined about before, all my drawing stuff is packed. I'm want/need to work on the art I owe to PIT FACE and mbloom and json…

But I promised my partner all packin/house stuff, and no drawing/art makin' until I get to New Orleans.

All I'm bringin' with me, and all I'll have for at least 2 weeks is my printing press and tools and supplies, my drawing stuff. And like, minimal clothes and kitchen stuff, to make sure I've got room in the car for all the art crap. Priorities, man!

bittenbymonk is being extremly generous in the wake of his sudden stardom. he's brought back The Dashing Rogue, and allowing his fan site to be whored out to advertising it. it's being hosted over at TDg. and i am very thankful for that.

it got kind of lonely. after a falling out, alls that was left was me, hippy, and arashi. the occasional visit from a couple people made it less lonely for a couple days at a time, but as of then, there was no appeal for people to be on multiple boards…maybe if i find some time, i can get back to improving it? or even set up Dashing Rogue to be interactive some how?
———

in other news, i didnt realize how bad my vision had gotten, but now i'm wearing the glasses alot, and i've only had them a couple hours…

someday i'll get you guys pics.

I hate clothes shopping so much. I have the most awkward shape to shop for. I was at a place that had a petites section so I actually found pants short enough for me, but all the sizes were too big(this country is so fat). I just ended up getting some anyways, because it's nice having pants that don't drag on the ground and get all gross and torn up at the bottom.

Shop in the little girls' section. These days the styles are about the same. I had a friend that used to do that. Or you could always hem them. Not too tough, even for bad sewers like me.

I shop at thrift stores pretty much exclusively- I don't think I've bought anything but socks and underclothes new in about 5 years. It sucks now though, 'cause when I was a size 3/4, I never had any trouble finding stuff. But apparently everyone is a 7/8, so there's always like, one boring pair of khakis in my size. One reason (that's not based on total BDD-type thinking) that I really need to lose weight.

The girl's section works sometimes. I'm not just short, though, I'm also oddly shaped. Haha.
Thrift stores are good…the big one in my city is crappy now though because they got rid of their retro section. Now I have to go through piles and piles of crap to find a couple cool things.

Btw, from pictures I've seen of you, you're a perfect size. And I'm not just saying that to be nice or anything. You're quite lovely.

Another thing about clothes shopping…I wish the brands could like, talk amongst themselves and figure out their sizes. Because those are messed up.

I agree with Hippie. You are pretty Hyena!

So today was a very strange day.
But I'm working on the comic now, so it's all good.
I'm on like…page 4 of 6? Ugh. 2 more to go after this.

And I've been eating Peanut Butter sandwiches and hot tea a lot. Well, not a lot. But every time I feel the need to snack on something, I get that.

I feel skinnier.

@ Ryu and Hippie:
Aws, thanks guys. ;)

Naw, I know I don't have a weight problem, or am some hideous troll. I just have a dysmorphic way of lookin' at myself. I mean, I wasn't ever unhealthy when I was thinner, but I definitely was obsessed with calories and excercise to the point that a lot of my life revolved around it. Honestly it was probably a borderline eating deisorder- a way to exert some kinda control over my life when I felt like I had none. Since gaining weight back because of some medication I was on, I've just felt crap like about myself. I'm getting better about it, but sometimes I still lapse into that "OMG I'm utterly worthless and stupid and shouldn't leave the house unless I lose 25 lbs." frame of mind. Which is f*kin' lame, right? Right. At least I realise it. ;)

That was probably TMI, eh? :nervous: Ah well. I ain't never been one to hide the dirty laundry.

As long as you don't wear it…

Regarding how we look at ourselves- I think it swings and changes. And its always worse when you compare yourself to others, of course. And it's often silly, of course.

The other day I was just about to get on the train to go home, and when the doors opened out poured this great mass of fashion models all dressed up and made up to the nines! Rushing to all get out at the same time for the photographer to get the right shot. It was a little strange, but seeing models dressed out in the full kit with the make-up etc in such a mundane environment really brings home how incongruous and unlikely the whole model image really is.
But people still tend to use it as a benchmark nevertheless.

Although, not fitting into your favourite stuff the way you'd like is probably the best benchmark. :)

I wish this would get a sequal so bad, it's one of my all time favorite games and had such a great premise for the areas and monsters, i don't know why it didn't get more popular.

My new pic is coming along great but i have no clue what to do for the background :/ It's a big dragon rearing up and the rider falling off, looks nice but plain alone.

Haha. I think that's part of my problem! ;) I care too much about clothes.

Also, my best friend is anorexic. Not a healthy influence. :P

Uhm… crap. I just looked at my post count and I realized that I'm not far from becoming a forum maniac (you get that once you reach 2500 posts if memory serves me right). I don't want to be committed in an asylum reserved for crazy drunk dunk users. I heard that it's overcrowded already.

I'm sick of packin' and fixin' up the house. Loading a 300lb press into my car? Sucks. Puttin' up wallpaper? Sucks. Yardwork? Sucks. At least everything fits into my car.

C'mon, man. 3 more days. I can make it…

Okay feminine guys are nothing new to DA, they're slathered over every damn inch of it, but what really ticks me off is when they have every last feature of a woman- yet the artist says 'he'. Males do not have the sharp indented middle waist of a woman that fold onto birthgiving hips. Draw the face exactly like a girls with a small nose, full red lips, and large fully lashed eyes-fine, but at least leave some proof that thing has a friggin penis. :gem:

I wonder if it's a form of ideal self-insertion, they draw out this beautiful and desirable character that acts out their usually taboo fantasies but make it male as some sort of guard….

Or just like sweaty man sex. :)

Hey, jerkwad- you know what sucks worse than that? Rippin' up a toilet and puttin' it back in. Or not puttin' it back in, as the case may be.

I'm going to London for three weeks in August. :D :D :D

I can also go to Cornwall for a week of that time if I want. Have any of you guys been there? Should I go?

And for people who have been to London or live there, what should I see/do while I'm there?

I'm really really excited. :)
