After six weeks… I finally have internet again!!!

lol!

Wooooooooooo! 8D

And Ozone, isn't your comic about like, half naked women and wars or something? If so, I'm definitely going to check it out. There's a lot of comics I need to check up on, and keep track of. Still need to make that list to remind myself of all that.

Anyway, finally almost done with this birthday pic for my "sister", Carly. It's for her 18th birthday. And she didn't give me any ideas, so I just kinda drew my characters in some pose and stuff. It's nothing special, but I think she'll like it.

And I feel partly inspired to draw another Ryu's Krew page.
But I realize, the style I'm going after from here on out, is a darker cartoony style. I wouldn't say Jhonen Vasquez, exactly. But something like that.

The reason why is, I see wayy too many anime-inspired styles out there, or even blatant rip-offs of anime (sorry to those who did/or are), and I feel that's just not what I want to do. Plus, I find cartoons WAY funner to draw. I filled like, 2 or 3 sketchbook pages last night of cartoony sketches. I love the expressions and all that.

So now I have to find a good way to draw people, outside of my incredibly simplistic and not-all-that-great looking style I already have. I'll find a way.

Also, playing Battletoads music on my guitar, is epic win. I just need to figure out a few more parts, and I'll know like…4 songs? 5? Something like that. I love Battletoads. :3

Another thing, I'm not a big fan of syndicated cartoonists. I like Garfield, and Foxtrot. (Never read Calvin and Hobbes), Snoopy too. But that's it. The other ones are just kinda…meh. It gets old after a while.

This is the second night running I've been sat here minding my own business only to have a huge furry arachnid run up my leg.
I've had a lot of spiders in my house the last month or so. I'm guessing it's because the weather's been nice enough to leave the back door open. I don't mind the corner spiders that sit in their webs up on the ceiling, but the running around kind will invariably get caught in a glass and flushed down the toilet. I also religiously check under the seat when I pee just in case one crawls back up (none ever have).

I was vacuuming today and saw a slug trail on the floor. I followed it around but couldn't see where it went as it seemed the beginning and end of the trail were missing. First of all I have no idea how a slug got into the front room (doors aren't open when slugs are out), second I want to know what happened to it so I don't come across a shriveled slug the dog thinks is a tasty treat. >:[

The dog LOVES to catch and eat flies so I don't have a problem with those. :]

I've got those huntsman spiders in my house. They look HUGE, but that's because they've got really long legs. One bit my father a long time ago and he's never recovered from it; he's still got that huge lump on his back where the spider bit him.

The most annoying insects to me right now are the termites. After the rains they show up everywhere and start swarming around any light scource. Worse, just when you thought you sealed your place so that they don't show up inside, they do exactly that! And oddly… they've been getting bigger… and browner!!! O_O

The guy that does Non Sequitir his name is Wiley Miller. I was on a cartooning forum and this guy was just asking a few basic questions and I thought he responded kind of harsh so I called him out on it.

Not surprised. I've always found that guy to be arrogant. Non Sequitur was substituted into a lot of the papers sometime after Larson's The Far Side came to a conclusion. While he's done well for himself, I really think for a long time he was riding that wave of similarity. Later on, his stuff got more and more smug/cynical. I just find Non Sequitur doing an odd preachy balance between Larson's work and sometimes, a political cartoon. No one can be right but him. Psh. And this, to say nothing of the amount of times he's dropped plot lines without explanation.

Homer was good when he had the attention span for it and I'll admit I find the old sea captain charming. However, I despise his Dana mouthpiece character.

Man, I hate my work ethic sometimes. A co-worker dumps a project right before the due date? Guess I'm the only one that cares about NOT wanting my name on a POS thing and have to spend my time finishing it right, because we agreed to do it dammit.

I saw a funny avatar in this forum that says "I'm a digimon. Not a sexual object."

I could imagine that being used as a slogan by a group campaigning for an end to human rights abuses against digimons.

Wait. Did I just put human rights and digimon in the same sentence? lol!

so i did my 6 miles this morning. i did the first 4 in my personal best of 33:23, and was on track to do a slightly less than 50 minute 6 mile. well, for some reason, it took me 21:40 to finish up the next 2 miles. i'm just glad i was moving the whole time, and didn't stop.

then i went to work…well. i just got home. i left the gym at 7:30.

1 more week until they release the promotion list. they should be releasing statistics this week….i am so nervous. i mean, as long as a single person, who thinks he already outranks everyone doesnt make it, then i'll be fine if i dont.
gahhhh hurry up.

also, district 9. this saturday. after my tournament. be there. or be square.

I saw that too. If I knew what a digimon looked like, it might've been funnier. huh!?

Great… I shouldn't have read those last few posts about Digimon. I tend to get the wierdest dreams… so what did I wake up from this time?

I dreamt that PETA started a campaign against Nintendo and other video game companies because they're exploiting and mistreating digital animals…

Read Renamon's comics for an entirely new perspective on that theme.

STBYGTIM

Yeah, I'm trying to make new web acronyms for the internet. Hopefully, they will take new life and become a common staple for internet forums and chat rooms.

(By the way, the above acronym is short for "Sucks to be you, good thing I'm me." Put it on your myspace and twitter accounts and spread the word!)

Digiploitation. I think we've invented a new genre here. I also think I just made myself sick.

Sick? Uh…yeah…not turned on, sick…yeah…*eyes around*

*LOL* J/K

Budlight Lime is tasty. For those of you old enough to buy it, get one just for a taste. For those of you not old enough to buy it, have someone give you at least a sip. Delicious. …what? Of course I'm telling these kids to drink underage. They need some gawd damn real word experience.

Anyway. I'm currently working on a more epic than normal animation. I'm sure many of you have seen the "Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat" animations by Proxicide or "The Exiles" by R1665. I'm going in a similar light in that it's a crossover animation, but won't be a mimic of their work.

I'm currently holding open auditions for the voice work, too. I still need the two male leads and a main female character. If you're interested, let me know and I'll drop the information to you about how they should sound.

The animation portion is going along well and so is the script. The script for Captain R: The Game Ranger 4 isn't, however…I think it's because the game world it's based on holds a little more something closer to my heart, so I'm wanting it to be a lot more accurate with the character behaviors.

Anyway…I will be returning to Young Studs some time soon.

Oh and lastly, kind of funny, but I've been offered $100 each 500 word story done in "horror-erotica". I'm not sure if I'm going to do it or not. I love writing and know it would be very easy for me to do, but…yeah…

Bought myself a new pair of work shoes today (a couple hours ago) and this time I'm gonna shine them, but not with spit. I found out the hard way that spit will digest your leather shoes… eventually…

I just watched 3 episodes of queen's blade, it's kind of like the webcomic menage3, the writing is the most laughably awful bullshit in the universe but the tits and fanservice keep people coming back. Ironically if they would have done away with the serious tone of the plot and made it more slapstick the series would have been more tolerable. But what an awesome character trapped in this shit:http://fiwasaki.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/qbrns5_03.jpg
Her voice actor is just…just…*drool* That was the only safe for work image i could find.

I need to start drawing again, i've always made it my goal to get just a little better from each page but i just want to tell a story now and not worry about the art. Or i could just watch more anime.

Thanks! I'll try to remember that next time I spitshine these things.

My coworkers think I'm nuts. I mean… as they suggest, liquid shine would be easier to apply. But I like the idea of shining the shoes myself. When given enough time I tend to shine them so much that I can see my reflection in them. And I find that the shine tends to last longer if you buff it in yourself as opposed to the so called "liquid shine".

we apply the liquid shine to the sole of the boot (lol i spelt soul first) and then it's wax stuff for the leather. i hate doing it. also, if you have a heat gun, and the wax stuff, if you melt the first layer into the boot, it'll be shinier.

but i really don't know what your standards are. the above are AF basic standards. now i can just spit shine, and as long as they look black i'm golden. unless i'm wearing desert tan boots. or the new green ones…

Since we do food in this thread now, I fried up a little left over rice with an egg for my lunch, but then had an accident with a bottle of West Indian hot pepper sauce.

I ate the results anyway, but I think it's gonna be a while before I stop crying.
