Why is my name still the biggest one. Post more often dammit.

quit overachieving,cooter.

I want my posts to go away. The glamorous life of a high post count nerd isn't what you'd expect it to be. Sure I get tons of money and women and everyone I pass on the street recognizes me, but the paparazzi is everywhere and I keep winning "worst beach body". I don't even go to the beach.

Wow… we get this a lot, except that we have people actually cutting LIVE power lines!!! Even better… we had people who broke into a local school, took apart several expensive air conditioners just to remove the copper fittings. O_O

Ok, I don't think we had that in here, at least not in my area. We did have a moron who decided to climb up and wave to others from the top. Well, he did not get to the power lines as he slipped and to regain balance he grabbed the umm… lightning guard? (I think that's what it is called)… well, it was a bit after a storm and there was still enough of a charge to fry him a little. The fall did the rest. There were flowers and candles in that spot for several years after that.

NaNo count… 33364 words as of this moment. Taking a break and going for a nap, going to continue tomorrow.

Writing extended "one against many" combat scenes is fun :D

I'm sure you have them too. They don't get reported on so often because cutting power lines there doesn't put the entire community in the dark like it does over here.

Ugh… my computer is acting weird. If I'm playing a game or something it does something that similar to "alt-tabbing" out of a program back to the desktop. If it's a virus that can hide from AVG I'll just have to reformat again, which will probably take me off the net for a couple of days. :(

Generally I find the chief problem there IS the anti Virus program.

What's your os BTW? XP Vista? What?

That would be XP. It only started doing this last night and I know I didn't install anything nor did I visit any wierd sites that I don't know of. I wonder if something installed itself when I wasn't looking though… for the past few months AVG has been filtering out programs with this "generic" virus in it. Lost my Diablo 2 installation to it.

Currenlty doing a full scan with AVG. If it finds nothing I may just reformat. The only guaranteed way I know of to get rid of a virus… unless it somehow copied itself into my CMOS or BIOS memory…

CMOS or BIOS memory…
I don't think viruses really do that anymore, so not much fear of that.

I'd still suspect AVG itself. Antivirus programs tend to get in the way of operating processes. All it take is some corruption in the Anti Virus program or a bad update and suddenly it's causing no end of unexplained havoc. -_-

I've had that with Norton, and at work we had a BEAST of a time with Bit Defender on my machine- it suddenly started smurfing all the memory and killing off my e-mail programs as well as other things. POS >:}

Come to think of it, I just updated AVG a few days ago to version 9. That could be it…

No ninjas here. Just the main character as she's taking on twenty guards at once. The fun part? Writing how she uses a spear to break apart a line of "medieval riot police" and then takes them on in twos and threes as they scatter across the city square.

i'm running avg version 9, with no problems. on vista. tho again, if it was an update from version X to version 9, there may have been a corruption issue like ozone said.
and i've always' hated norton. i think their virus database is about a page long, and that's it. i've never not gotten a virus while using them.

also aurora the 1/n mathematical equation is used across the bored. N really stands for bad guys. it's called the law of conservation of ninjitsu. I'd link you to the TV tropes, but i promised never to go there again, because i'm afraid of getting lost again.

crap, i can't remember if i'm supposed to be there at 545 or no earlier than 545. and they take showing up early very serious. dangit. i've been out of work for so long i forgot to do stuff to remember.

Post. Script.

It's so much warmer upstairs.

Ohh, ok. Googled and found.

Nope, not having that here. At least I don't think so. I've actually spent about 1800 words on the fight and managed to keep it so short only because the half of them that was alive at the end decided to flee… only to fall into the hands of the angry mob.

Sometimes I get so stressed out at work I close the door and start doing pushups. Does that make me crazy?

I am the proud recipient of an xbox360 Red Ring of Death.

Wait, did I say proud? I meant angry.

I guess I will be sending it off and all, supposedly fixed for free, they are sending me a label. But that means no xbox360 for the next 3 weeks or so. Which makes me ultra sad because left4dead2 comes out next week.

Just use the wet towel trick. Soak a towel in hot water and wrap it around your Xbox360. The hot water will cause the microchips to go back in place and your Xbox360 will be good as new!

Owch… well, you could use the time to do other things. When my XB360 went out for repairs/replacement (no red ring of death… just dead video) I finally went outside my house and found out about the wonders of the world. I finally remembered what those white puffy things floating in the big blue field above me were. :)

Very funny, that just makes it worse in the long run. :] 'cause microchips to go back into place' is a sideways way of saying 'overheat the unit to melt the connective solder'

my buddy got the thermal paste and new spacers. worked like a charm. i however opted for the new xbox. but after that all the things i had acquired digitally before that point is only available to me, when i'm logged onto live.

I'm so bored, i'm heading to bed now.

Nah, Red Ring "repairs" don't usually take the full three weeks that they say it will. They usually just swap it for another fixed-and-flashed console (if they have one) when they receive yours and ship the replacement on the same day. You're likely looking at about a week if that happens.
