I had to spend an hour and a half trying to make my docking monitor do what it used to do, all because I had the audacity to hook the laptop up to a projector at work today. Apparently Windows xp thinks it's fun to screw everything up when you do that. And to put it back you have to change the options on different screens in a certain order before hitting apply, or else it just doesn't do anything.

now I'm starving, I wanted to eat 2 hours ago. >:[

I told y'all last time that I'm out of work. On the one hand, it's more of a pain than ever to be unemployed. On the other hand, since when did the State Workforce Commission actually become useful?? I'm impressed!

At least I'm in Austin, where there are jobs! I'm applying like crazy, after trimming my resume once again (although I have yet to find a practical and cool-looking way to take 14 years of work history and put it on one page of paper yet)…

Whew! Thanks for listen – er, reading! lol!

New here. Just checking out the landscape. I'm changing careers too, finally. I hear ya. I've cut my resume to two pages but how can one make it any smaller? My resume hasn't been one page since I was in my mid-twenties. Ugh, I'm old all of a sudden! Wish someone had pointed that out to me.

It'd be real funny if the "Huge Flying Battleship" jokes became the next internet meme.

And sorry you didn't get enough sleep last night. Engine number 10 got flooded with an ocean of liquid ozone so power output was pretty random at best.

Oh… and a skoolmunkee was playing around with the steering controls again.

So I just found out that they're cutting my hours at work.

Which sucks. But the really annoying thing is, I know they won't just give me an extra day off, or end my shift before 7.

No, I"ll probably have to go in later, and still work til' 7. So it"ll still feel like the same crappy shift, except I"ll have less money in my paycheck each week. Yay me!

I was just about to complete another AG update before heading off to work when suddenly a random error comes out of left field, wipes out 1hr and 30 mins worth of editing and closes the program. Even the autosave doesn't have any memory of this. I'm already a day late on this and now I have to wait until night to start all over. I'm fit to be tied right now! :gem:

Good lord, I despise technology.

My cat came in to wake me at 6am in the morning to feed him. I'd gone to bed at 2:30am.

He wasn't really that desperately hungry, he's just being a dick! >:{
Little bastard was jumping all over my bed. I somehow managed to ignore him and get to sleep again.
But he got his revenge- he changed the station on my clock radio so my alarm didn't go off and I slept in a whole hour!!! I had less than 10 minutes to get dressed and out the door.

So thanks to him, NEITHER of us got any breakfast this morning.
-I would've been able to feed him as normal when I got up at my usual time at 8.

Yikes! That hat looks very heavy! I wonder how those British palace guards manage to stand all day long wearing those. O_O

Those bearskins are a lot more comfy than this:

Fur is softer on the head than steel or kevlar.

My old friend:

Give me a colback or bearskin any day. The Guardsmen I've spoken to say they prefer the bearskin to the steel pot. But berets are the most comfy. :)

I'm thinking of taking a hiatus with my webcomic. That probably won't be good for my readership, but I'm in some sort of funk and feel like I'm forcing pages and they're looking like garbage. IMHO.

It's not as though I'm at a loss as to where I'm going with the story, I think I just need to step away from it for awhile, and regroup.

Gah. It's a weird feeling to be away from my art supplies.

When I'm at home and busy, all I ever want to do is go back to my parent's place, flop on their couch and drink their beer and do nothing. Now that I'm here at my parent's house, I realize that "do nothing" really means, "work on artwork of my own". All I really want to be doing is go home, and start working on something for fun.

Sadly yes. And as a representative of the pretty-ok city of Detroit, I'd like to solemnly apologize to everyone on behalf of the city. We are very sorry things had to turn out like this.

————-

I have the most ungodly horrible pain behind my eye right now. It doesn't feel like a migraine, just a lot of pressure and headache meds don't do anything for it. I'm kind just hoping it's lack of sleep or low light. I wouldn't mind a nice simple solution to everything.

It is no fair having a huge headache on a day off. In fact I think huge headaches in general are just no fair.

Work Rant:
I only have today off because it's Thanksgiving.

While normally fair and logical, the head manager will not allow me to be a "certified signer" for returns because I don't have enough "customer loyalty cards" assigned to my name…yeah, that makes perfect fucking sense…I can totally see the god damn connection between "loyalty cards" and "knowing how to do a return correctly"…I mean, I only had a top secret clearance in the military, but that means nothing when I don't have enough "loyalty cards" signed up…

I hate people.

I hate working there.

Life Rant:
I hate never having time to do things for myself outside of school and work. At least I have a break from school coming up, but they're giving me more hours at work…

I have a HUGE pain in my left shoulder from my neck being out of alignment thanks to being on my feet for 8 hours straight with no breaks at work.

QWest is the WORST company to ever have Internet with, but there's nobody else. USA has "areas of ownership" for Internet companies. If Comcast is doing cable and QWest is doing DSL, then Verizon cannot, by law, compete with FIOS DSL in the area. They choke my speed on "media heavy" (IE YouTube) and gaming. I'm trying to update TF2 and I got a message from them, 45 minutes after my speeds dropped off, saying that my "Internet is being restricted due to suspected abusive activity of service caused by high transfers." They DO know people play video games online, right?

I hate articles on thanksgiving screeching that we're celebrating the genocide of indians with the genocide of turkeys. :/ I want to be around my family and ridiculously large meals + those cute little 'what are you thankful for' where you feel warm and fuzzy when they mention you, not how my ancestors raped the land and defiled the women of american natives.

This is the first thanksgiving my family has had at home in probably 10 years though, we usually mooch off our pals. It's tradition :)

Just got my computer back! The guy who fixed it was so great…in two days he fixed it right up, I didn't lose anything, and he didn't even charge! I think we're going to get him a fruit basket or a box of chocolates or something.

At least it wasn't Best Buy. My friend got his computer sent there to be "fixed"
HE NEVER SAW IT AGAIN.

Eep! That's like my worst nightmare!
I just took mine to a little booth in the college my dad works at. I don't think they usually have a whole lot to do so he probably had nothing better to do than play around with my laptop.
