Ack. Until this year, I paid more than $1,000 per year for car insurance! Good luck, though.

i pay 1200 a year for three cars…but now i sold one, then my wife crashed another, so i'm just looking for a car to get me by for the next two years…

my first car was an 84 camaro. dark blue. $350. the spedometer shut off at 60. and picked back up when you dropped below 60. got it when i was 14 worked on it till i was 16. never got to officially drive it, as i didnt get my liscense till my senior year of highschool.
second car was a '91 nissan sentra. it would have lasted me several years, but i crashed it into a field, when i was run off the road. it was a $250 fix….but after that accident nothing seemed to run right (electronics) and quickly deteriorated…

and technically my third car (which is the one i just sold) cost me less than 1k. my mom paid for half as my graduation gift. it only cost me 800. i took her all the way to 235k miles….sigh….i miss 'er.

gotta finish up this essay, whish i had someone to send it too for proofreads, but they've got to know the 'rose for emily' story.

I named the druggist Barry Notty, lol. we're allowed to make up names for the people just not the info.

'rose for emily' story.
Lets se.. She's a spinster that gets old and dies loveless, but she had a great rosebush. The roses die with her.

I have no idea about the rose form Emily story, but that's the one in the song of that name by the Zombies ^_^
Nice song.

————-
Ewwww… I never new that song was based on an actual story. What a ghastly tale! Still, it sounds pretty good even so.

it's about this lady who the town is obsessed with since she's got a noble family. They talk about her all the time- how she hardly comes out of her house, how she evades taxes, how she bought arsenic at the druggist– how her sweetheart left her- how her house smelled-until her death of old age.
Then they find a rotted corpse laying in her houses upper room bedroom, and on the pillow beside it an iron grey strand of hair.

hurrah necrophilia.

Haha. I love that one.

I think they're treating her with this pathetic deference, in "respect" to the once-revered nature of her family name. Like when they come and spread lye around her house, because they don't want to tell her it, well, smells. That's also why no one comes to the kinda obvious conclusion that she'd murdered her lover- they're still thinking of her as this kind of untouchable, noble figure, even when they're talking behind her back. The whole thing to me is about how Southern towns are obsessed with being "proper" and maintaining appearances; and the decay of the aristocracy- how years of Southern nobility and "principals" had built this really sick, corrupt, and insulated world.

I also liked the Yellow Wallpaper, where this poor woman just wants to be a bit independent and their cure for her 'hysteria' is to lock her in an attic room with horrible yellow wallpaper which basically just makes her go crazy.

Or that one about the accomplished southern lady who has no real value in her life and she walks into the ocean and drowns herself. Can't remember what that one's called, The Awakening? Good ol' American turn of the century literature, so politely ghoulish.

I have solved half my screentone problem, now the other half is that I can't find any dot screentones at 300dpi. Why are they all 72? Insane!

Yeah, that's "The Awakening", by Kate Chopin. A bit early than Faulkner (turn o' the century), but maybe a precursor to the Southern Gothics? It did take place in good ol' Looziana. It was terribly scandalous at the time; some folks consider it the first real "feminist" novel, but I got some issues with that. ;)

(Literary analysis = another one of my pointless hobbies.)

Crisis averted due to room booking related fuck ups! Hooray for poor organisation!

Now I just have to figure out to make tentacles like things with NURBS in Maya. Stupid octopus inspired robot. Maybe I could make them in polygons and hope they work together?

Edit: Nope, looks like shit. Bugger.

Edit edit: I sussed it out! I am so great.

Ugh. I'm getting sick.
I have no energy, I feel like I'm going to throw up…ugh.
I asked my friend who just got over it, and he said that's exactly how he felt when he started to get sick.
I haven't gotten sick in a while.
I hope I don't have to go to school tomorrow, I won't be able to function.

Today was really shitty. My little sister clings to my dad whenever he's around and I don't get much time with him, so we decided to take the day off today together.
I woke up to an annoying, repetitive sound like someone bouncing a rubber ball or something and found out that my sister's roof is leaking very badly. And that my mom's car had broken down near her work, so my dad would have to drive down there to wait for the tow truck and whatnot. Then my little sister found out that my dad wouldn't be going to work and wanted to stay home as well. After a lot of arguing, she finally agreed to go to school.
It seemed that we would have a slight delay in our plans, but that we would still have a good day after we got the car towed.
But then when the tow truck came the car apparently started working again. So the truck left and my dad started driving home…and it stopped working again. My parents ended up leaving it at a Robin's donuts and taking the other car home, so they got home around noon.
Then I went out with my dad and we bought a pair of speakers for my room since my mom won't let me move the turntable or stereo or anything. Around this time my mom called and asked if we were coming home…of course we had only been out for about half an hour, so we said no and she freaked out. About the roof, the car, my dad buying me speakers…everything imaginable.
She called us several more times after that. I stopped picking up the second time she called me, but my dad wouldn't do that, so she pestered us all afternoon while we tried to get lunch and look at some records.
My mom freaked out again about the speakers later on in the afternoon, so my dad told her that I was paying for them…which I hadn't planned on. So now I have no money for the record convention next month, and I didn't really get the relaxing day with my dad I had hoped for.

Yay! I finally got a break with my prescription costs! My doc cleared me to take the generics, so now instead of the $150 copay for the insane amount of pills she wants me to take, I pay $0. (The free generics thing is a limited offer from my health insurance provider, but hey- I'll take it!)

It's under control, I swear!
Just one more hit and I'll be cool… I can stop any time I like. I'm telling ya man!

Well, the bastards outbid me for that Hussar Busby. But I don't care, I'm going to leave it :)

My expensive new jackets will match my Cossack hat perrrrfectly ^____^

Screentones HA! I probably could have told you how to do that. I did it once… But then again, maybe I couldn't. It's hard to remember. :(

I stayed up all morning last minuting that hateful essay, and you know what happens? The school campus is shut down 5 minutes after I arrive for snow day. And before we even called the school and she sed 'yes dats rite childrens eets open today till further notice! 8D' so i drove aaall the way there in 8 inches of snow and that wannabe snow-ice shit, only to drive all the way back in 8 inches of snow and ice shit 5 minutes later.
Also there was a dead squirrel on the highway on the way back and it was laying in a stereotypical death way, like it was holding a daisy. I found that quite interesting. i am so lonely

Well at least I'm warm at home now with my TV, laptop, comforter, old suikoden games, pepsi, fruit gushers, and cat(s).

It got warm enough this morning to rain(which was nice), and then cold enough this afternoon to freeze all that water into a solid sheet of ice over everything. I can barely walk to the driveway, I have no idea how I will walk to school tomorrow.

I wish I did… It's sweltering here. And tomorrow it will be worse. 40C tomorrow… I have no idea what that is in Fahrenheit. Too hot, that's what.

I shouldn't complain though I suppose, it's been such a mild, cool summer here so far. Not like what they're getting in the eastern states. Half of Victoria has burned down. It's pretty shocking.

22*c is about 70*f so if we double that number….we get…OMG..ozone, ensure your air conditioner is in american energy wasting mode…dear god, man, you're going to fry to death…

unless my math is off.
