I just saw an article on the news thats about how the husband called 911 because his wife and 26 year old daughter were screaming and fighting each other.

Well… The man… needs to grow some balls.

Why? Are you such a helpless stupid little sheep so as to just let big brother do it for you? Why don't you step in and BE A MAN and BREAK UP THE FIGHT YOURSELF?

Its sad.

Well, if she's 26, we can guess he's probably in his mid to late forties up to his early 60s. And hey, his daughter might be a master of muy thai and her mom taught it to her. Probably not, but that's one fight I'd stay out of.

Then again, you saw the news report, not me. Maybe he really is a wuss.

It's actually surprisingly easy to get traditional looking results with a tablet in photoshop. Just make a bunch of circles, go to edit: define brush. It pops up in your brush palette then you can mess with the brush settings for opacity and size until it looks right. it gives a nice oil brush effect. Most of the tools are pretty easy to figure out. Just give it a try. I've taught myself everything I know by playing around and asking people.
I think eventually it'll come to that. It takes me a while to get over the intimidation of tryin' something that seems so foreign to what I'm used to- if that makes any sense. I don't have a tablet or photoshop (I use GIMP on my laptop) but I can sneak into the lab at the college and play around. (For not bein' a student, I sure to take full advantage of that place.) Although the first time someone tried to get me to use one, it freaked me out- "Whaddaya mean I have to look at the screen while I'm drawin'?! Bwa! This is weird!" *runs out of room* ;)
***
On a (traditional) drawin' related note: I'm so happy with how the pencils for "The Hub" #3 are comin' out. The art's so much better than when I started the comic. :D And I'm actually manning up and doing proper perspective, backgrounds, and varied angles. Go me.

So i'm making an effort to make myself look nice, i haven't really bothered lately since i haven't found anybody- but i figure i should try. I'm going to get my hair dyed a sandy blonde, start using a self tanner(since my skin is now smooth from 3 days of exfoliating) and start exercising more.
*sigh* it's probably all for nothing, but i guess i'll at least try.

in most states, it's better for a man to run than to hit any of his family members, regardless of the situation. 9 times outta ten, if the man hits the woman, even if she's attacking him, he gets in more trouble. and on top of that, once you have a domestic violence on your record, you can no longer carry a weapon.

that's why you shoot her the first time?

i had a friend whos wife got drunk and started punching him, he grabbed her arm and pushed her. left bruises on her arm, and she called the cops. he had a black eye, he was charged with domestic violence, and almost got kicked out of the military.

I love it when I'm talking to someone on AIM or something and they suddenly stop responding for no reason. It really brightens up my day.

And even better, they suddenly come back later and go 'duuuuhr sos lol i had to pick my nose'. I'm glad they don't tell me that they're about to stop talking so they can do whatever trivial crap it is other people do, it adds an element of surprise, and I sure do like surprises!

I am worried about my dog. I found a weird lump thing around his collar area when I was petting him. We're taking him to the vet Monday. I really hope he's okay.

I'm really frustrated with everything right now.

you can no longer carry a weapon.

This reminds me of a funny story…one time my great-granddad got into some kind of bar fight so he was told he could no longer carry a weapon. So he dragged his knife behind him on a string.

Ha! That's hilarious. I guess he's not technically carrying it, right?

In most states, you also cannot carry/ purchase a handgun or high-powered rifle if you've been put in a hospital for mental illness. Although I don't see how they'd have access to sealed medical records when they're doin' the background check thing, unless there was a criminal charge involved too.

I don't know about most other states, but I know in Michigan and Iowa, if you're hospitalized or treated for severe mental illness they put it on your legal record. Probably because they want the police to know if you're in a logical state of mind to be reasoned with when you hold the people at that mobile 8 hostage.

Even if I had a sawn off shotgun in my shorts, Im not sure I'd want to tangle with a guy who drags a knife behind him on a string.

Yeah, I think they're gettin' stricter with it, after that school shooting at (I think it was) Virgina Tech last year, where the guy had all sorts of reported mental problems but was still able to get a gun. I don't know how it is state-to-state, though- like if my Louisiana records would show up if I went to buy a gun in North Carolina. I know they don't have any kind of integrated system for checkin' that stuff yet- too many patients' rights issues.

Oh, how how High School romance changes when you start to participate!
So yeah, I was like, "Psh, I'm to cynical to participate!" Then I stayed cynical, but I was like, "Psh, I'm to shy to initiate!"

She basically asked me out about three weeks ago.
We've been able to spend a lot of time together, which has been great.
I knew she wanted me to kiss her but I kept on hugging her and repeating, "I'm sorry…" I don't have the balls to initiate anything, throughout our relationship, that has been consistent. Basically, she kissed me. We each did. Each other. On the lips. Then we each rushed home.

I am very self-aware of how cute this all is/was. First relationship, first kiss. It is all a little late for my age (I'm in 11th grade), but it just makes me more aware of all of the cuteness. The tickling; the snuggling; the little beanie baby bear I gave her (it's her favorite animal).

Yeah… <3

Odd jobs/sales here and there; not buying anything that isn't necessary (read: cigarettes, coffee, art supplies, beer, food)… Moochin' off my partner, mostly; I'd seriously be in the gutter if it wasn't for him. huh!?

That's hardly late in life dude. I had a pretty similar experience so don't worry about it. I didn't catch on until we spent a night cuddling under a blanket in the back of the car, looking at stars. And even then it took me another week to realize it and get up the courage to ask if we were a couple. Don't worry about it and just go with it if she's willing to initiate things till you're comfortable.

Speaking of nutjobs with weapons, I just had some crazy pull some glinty thing on me on my way home from the school ( All of 3 blocks away. ). I don't know if it was a gun, knife or beer can because of the weird way he was holding it, but he walked up to me out of an alleyway and asked if I had any money in that creepy, "I might decide to stab you for fun" kind of way. I just turned around and headed back to the school watching backwards across the street instead of talking or trying to get past him.

This is supposed to be one of the cleanest safest parts of town and I carry a knife at all times, but I don't feel like adding "gunshot wound" to my current list of medical problems. It's long enough as it is.

That's 'cos we're usually at work, man :]

Besides, what *I* usually do is say "back in 10 minutes" and then come back in half an hour.
