Before I post, let me just say that I'm not too sure if this is a bug, or just me not being very good at this. After a year or so of limbo, I've decided to start a new comic, but it won't let me upload! I've tried JPEG, and PNG and it won't work for either. Funny thing is though, the little thumbnail does come up to show the chapter head and they will up load on Photobucket. The comic is "Hey Listen" if you want to check it out.

Pineapple, I'm not sure but I'm guessing it's because of this:
"name of comic (may only contain letters, numbers and spaces)"
And HEY LISTEN! has an exclamation point.
Normal sites would check and correct that (or do what DD used to do and automatically remove non-approved characters) but… I guess it doesn't do that.
I'd suggest making a new comic without the exclamation point and see if you can upload the pages to it. :]
"LeachyPeachy" recently posted a site update on getsatisfaction, but for some reason not on the actual Duck site.
It's basically what skool already said, but he hinted on adding… (dramatic pause)…. custom HTML support.

As Skool has already told you, WOWIO is under considerable financial pressure right now. We are NOT going out of business and have every intent of continuing to develop The Duck. However, at this point I am just trying to keep the site alive as best I can in the short-term until things turn around. When they do I will be bringing back folks I recently lost and will hire a whole host of other people to finish building out and supporting the site. On a personal note, I lost two good friends who are hard working people due to our current situation. So no one is more frustrated or disappointed than me.
I've been seeing ALL of the messages going back-and-forth about "WOWIO abandoning the community". I am very sorry for giving you all that impression. Obviously, what else are you left to think? I just have very limited resources at the moment and it's hard to respond to anything in a timely manner. I have been dealing with hosting and customer support issues as well as trying to squeeze in time to work on the problems with the site. This is NOT about me and my frustrations however. It's about the community. I'm simply trying to explain the lack of communication and utter silence on our end.
It is my hope that you guys will try to hang with me as I try to sort all this crap out and give you the site I promised, (with Custom HTML capabilities – had to throw that in there.), and that you deserve.
I am still offering a $5 coupon to anyone that requests one. I wish I could do more right now and it is my plan to do so in the very near future.

He'd previously hinted about the custom HTML thing on getsatisfaction a few months ago. I asked Kinh about it but he wasn't real clear on what the discussion there was other than that it seemed like Lawrence had changed his mind and did think he should bring custom HTML back in some capacity, but that I wasn't supposed to say anything til Lawrence did. :]
I appreciate Lawrence's message, it's good that he (finally) got in touch, albeit indirectly.
It's very sad to see, but less and less people seem to be using The Duck now due to the bugs; and I hate to say it but that may include myself before too long. I hope that they are able to get working on the bugs again soon and I will hang in there and wait but at times it gets harder to be patient.
I hate to sound like a broken record, especially since it now sounds like it will be ages until they are addressed, if at all, but I'm still experiencing three highly annoying bugs:
1. Most importantly, the custom layout editor. I know Lawrence is thinking about it, and I'm grateful, but it's very hard to get inspired to start a new comic when I know I'm going to be uploading it to a dead and blank page design.
2. Despite being sorted when the site initially went live, all of the comments on my profile have vanished and have not returned.
3. Least importantly, but still annoyingy, all my trophies have vanished. (Again.) Like the comments, this had happened and then been fixed after the initial site changer, but it bugs me that they've gone again.
I will continue to be patient, but I sincerely hope that the layout editor gets fixed ASAP because it was the feature I was most looking forward to, and yet it continues to fail.
I really hope WOWIO manage to get back on their feet and continue working on this site because it's sad to see it disintegrate so fast.

I posted a new comic a while back during the 22nd; the first page was to be released on the 27th, and then the following 28th today. However, it seems the comic, "MANZAI with MATOKU AND YOMITA" didn't publish on the 27th. I made sure to check the live dates weren't wrong, like putting 2012 instead of 2011, but they're up right, just not up on the site.

Did you manually publish them when they didn't come up automatically?
Weird. I tried searching them on the site or going through the comic filters, and the comic hasn't come up. And when I click the "open" tab on the "my comics (insert number here)" section, it doesn't have a date. It just says "edit" where the date should be. So I assumed that the comic hasn't been put up on the site yet or there's a bit of a problem.
I really like the current ads I'm getting on the site for the last day or so.

Excellent ad. That must be helpng the Wowio revenue stream greatly?
But at least it is not innappropiate or offensive :-)
For some reason upon visiting DrunkDuck's forums on my favorites folder, I got logged in as El Cid instead of me. I quickly logged out.
I dunno if that was a glitch on the site's part or on the account of me being hacked in some form; I was working around the clock last night on uploading a few things on a KUWT archive Yahoo Group, and I was constantly being pressed for logging in. It happened hourly for some time.
Whatever the case though, thought I'd point that out.

@ itsjustaar - that's just wierd… Ya… it could be that logout issue, maybe it's like the old logout issue where the system just makes it apear as if you're logged in as that other person and you're really not? I'd have to expereince it myself to find out for sure, but it's a huge worry of you could just be randomly logged in as someone else. :(
@ Gunwallace - unfortunately all ads are still working on my end… Thank heavens for ad-block!
@ Kaji Motomiya - Wel I'm not sure at the resons for those errors, but if you're worried about something not being published, the nest way is to check through the front end it seems in this case: look at your comic and go through the pages :)

Thank you! *applauds* It's a lot better now ^^ No worries about the other stuff, I understand the situation with them is a bit uneasy. I'm sure Lawrence will be able to sort the extra bugs out eventually, if his plate clears a little.

Are the admins able to give out trophies to users?
I think it might be a nice gesture to hand out the feature trophies whenever a new comic gets featured as I'm guessing it won't happen retroactive whenever the trophy system is fixed….?
Not an extremely important priority of course, but a nice gesture. ;)

OK, all people's profiles who've had comics featured since the changeover to the new system had had a feature trophy added!
And those who lost all trophies (VegaX included) have had some trophies restored. I'm sorry, I don't know for sure which ones you were missing, the ones I put back were my best guess.

Hey im somewhat new to this site as far as being a beginner cartoonist I've uploaded a mature comic strip on this site but it hasn't appear as of yet the title of the comic strip is Zar & Kane I think their maybe an error
It appears you've deleted the account though, so I can't check for sure if that was the issue. But creating a new one called "Zar and Kane" should work.

I think that's pretty much it, thanks! It's just the comic strip trophy that is missing. (from the Duck and Quail feature)
I don't know if this has been mentioned before… also it's not an error bug as much as a missed feature, but do you think we could ever get the "Last comment posted on this comic feature"?… well actually if it could be improved I'd like the last *set number* comments. Just, if you're someone like me who doesn't get a lot of comments on their comics you always feel kind of excited when someone does write a comment and you always want to reply to them… actually a reply feature that lets the person know they were replied to would be nice too… BUT now I'm ranting and thus shall stop. Anyways, that's my only input that's not already on the list
