I have a whole lot of Pinky TA custom backgrounds cycling on my work comp. They're boss! I  didn't like it on my main home comp though.

Kawaii I can't beleive you followed that comic. OMG that was gross >_<

———–

I'm currently watching Hare & Guu. That series really grows on you! It's a comedy about a group of islanders, focussing on a young boy (Hare) and his alchaolic single mother Wetta. This strange girl called Guu comes to live with them. She's all sweetness and cutesy one minute and then flat, frowny, and creepilly boored looking the rest of the time.
Guu is an awesome character! She swallows anything whole (birds, people, whales…) and has several parrallele worlds inside her guts. Her creepiness is so cool and her jokes on poor little hare are so funny.
I love that it has stuff that would NEVER be used for humour in Western sitcoms or animation, and it does it so well :)

I never saw the daily turd comic! Man, i clearly missed out. I do remember craving control. And powerup comics. Amazing how many hits you can get from bad press…
———-
Hare and guu? An anime huh? Funny you guys were talking about bubblegum crisis a few pages back- i had just rewatched it! Well 2040 anyways.

I've mostly been making spare 'hobby' money off sales and comissions. Problem is my hobbies have gotten grossly expensive since i started stalking korean toy designers. Gotta find a get rich quick scheme soon!

wow, CF really went down the drain.
@ozone yea I think it's the dreaded ad cookies. They haven't shipped the sticks out yet, and they popped up right when I finished ordering them.
speaking about money schemes. if you have any sculpting skills, you can modify and alter toys :P
Lately I bought a bunch of happy meal MLP toys, and resculpted the hair and sell them on ebay for 3x what I bought them for.
And another thing I've recently started doing is buying broken airsoft guns for cheap off ebay, repair them so they're working again, and then sell them, earning about 2 or 3 times what I bought them for. Also I happened to have a bunch of spare parts.
And lastly MTG card speculation.
Aaaand there's going to conventions and selling prints. My prints don't do very well, but I get a bunch of sketch commissions so it works out.

Am I right in thinking you can't make extra pages here anymore, for cast, background info and so forth?  How do people get around this? Incorporating it into the comic as high value filler?

@Joel
Wow, there's good money i the MLP business? I guess i shouldn't be surprised. From what ive seen you guys kind of get shafted when it comes to quality toys/figures.

Maybe you could do some sort of brady bunch intro. There's a story~
Of a lovely forum~
Also I hope you re-up the author comment that went along with it. It honestly made me imagine a paranoid egg person trying to venture outside for the first time.

Paranoid egg-person? Whahahahaha! Love that description :)

Scarf- Skulbie's sugestion is best. Plus you can do character bios as part of another comic just dedicated to that alone and link to it in your author notes.
I WISH we could get this damn stuff fixed… We're held up on the bussuness side of things though. -_-
I'm going to ask Trantor about that right now. There, sent a message via facebook.

I'm currently writing a script for the next Quackcast… a live action SciFi play featurimg Banes and I, Pitface, Tantz Aerine, and Abt Nihl. It will feature plenty of bum and fart jokes… also anal probes, because that's about the level of joke I'm capable of. :D

Thanks for the suggestions guys - I've added some eggy backround to the author notes and once the next page is finished, I'll look at creating a seperate comic for the shocking details.

No anal probes in this one I'm afraid - maybe a frying pan.

I won't have high expectations for it then with the talents of the best voice artist on DD missing.  We want ayesinback!  And I know my agent can be a dick but you shoulda called.

Anyway, I just finished Bubblegum Crisis myself!  There was supposed to be a 2041 but it never got made?  I just love those gooey all encompassing muck monster Cosmic Chick I'm-gonnna-be-GOD! of the late 1980's-1990's characters.  It got me to go back and dig out Gall Force.  And I just started Baka and Test and I fell out of my chair laughing in just the first episode.

As for my next comic script?  Dunno.  I came up with a great idea to work over my endless fantasy project but it'd be so long in production I don't think I could take it.  Can't come up with projected script shorter than 100 pages and that's potentially a 300 page comic and two-three years of shooting.  yeech.   I have some shorter scripts but they're mostly revisits with the robofemoids and I'm kind of sci-fi'ed out even if I did just make an investment in a pile of Star Trek accessories.  Maybe World War II, Drunkduck needs a decent war comic.  Let me raid some old episodes of Combat and Our Army at War featuring: Sgt Rock for stories and I'll be all set.

I'm having to write the newsposts on my phone right now because my computer's still broken, and almost made a very unfortunate typo today. I was trying to write the word "duckers."

Yikes!  O_O
….

Let's hope your avatar doesn't spring a flat tire, Hippie.  :)

Star Trek Online's 9th season is now up, and we get to see what the iconians look like.
Okay… it just HAD TO BE a female.  Made of crystal to be sure, but still….

Nice to see Tuvok and Worf in the accompanying episode, but my neighbor is still ticked off that the current captain of the Enterprise is an Andorian.  Cryptic tried to get Jeffrie Combs to be the voice of that character, but he had other schedules to keep.  I think it's pretty funny that the person who voices the current Enterprise captain is also the guy who voices the most despicable villain in Star Trek Online (look up TV Tropes for "Hakeev").  :)

Hahaha, Hippie! I have made that F-typo before due to the placements of the D-key and F-key and I have autocorrect shut off.

There is a poutine festival happening down the street. I have seen all sorts of poutine varieties that I am almost poutined out!

Turns out I was getting poutine confused with peyote. Still impressed though. It's a  bit like the classic northern UK dish, the Gravy Mix - a polystyrene tray of greasy chips floating in gravy (no cheese though). I used to love that - can't get it in fish'n'chip shops here in the south; it's considered to be strictly northerners food tha' noz (you know).

Skullbie gave me an idea for a lesbian robot comic recently so I've started doing concept sketches and suddenly I'm reminded of this Bjork video. Is it just me, or did videos used to be way better than they are now?

Finally added a new 500gb drive to this machine to replace the old 120GB IDE drive that died. It wasn't easy as Windows 8.1 is a headache to figure out.  Then again, XP was also hard to figure out.  Hopefully Windows 8.1 support lasts longer than support for XP did.  It was a good run while it lasted, though…
Still, I wonder why the tools used for formatting the drives are so well hidden (to me anyway)…

hahaha! Maybe I can get you to write us some phonetic northern dialogue for a future script!
Banes and I need to branch out with our bad accents!

I had a friend over all weekend so I was unable to edit the hillarious space-farce podcast play we did for the latest Quackcast. Hopefully this afternoon after work I can get it all done… The play part is a good half an hour and it usually takes me forever just to edit each minute …. farrrrk!!!!!!!!
I have to match levels, add backing sounds, add effects, add specific SFX, cut clicks,  spaces, flubbed lines, laughs, and car noise etc It's a lonnng process.

You will eventually get to hear about Hayseed and his probulator score.

I would like to try a game of consequences in comic form.  anyone up for this? I'll run it in lite bites.
I need to set some ground rules first, I think each page should aim to have a specific purpose so it doesn't go on and on and comes to a conclusion.  I'm only thinking of about six pages so it doesn't get out of hand.  any thoughts?

It's not hard. Just talk like Sean Bean or one of the Starks from first couple of seasons of Game of Thrones.  They all do that accent.  Or you could watch the Royal Shakespeare Company Nicholas Nickelby which has some great broad comical Yorkshire accents. Mis-TUH Nik'el-BY.

Grahm Chapman of Monty Python did the best northern rustic in the sheep nesting in trees skit.  It's kind of like Cockney meets Maine with a dose of Scottish pronunciation but no burr.

I've found another old outlien and dusted it off.   How does a rom-com ala Bravo sound? you mean something tentatively entitled Demon's Bride is a rom-com? Yes…

So about a year ago my mom brought home two goats, not my idea but she got suckered into paying 75$ each at some ranch. She brought home a nuertered male and a female. The male is the worst animal I have ever seen. I don't even know how to descibe how spiteful he is:

-When it rains he will push her out of the house/shelter to get wet and freeze. There's more than enough room for both of them.

-In the early dawn if there's a sunray shining on the ground he will push her away from it so she cant get warm.
-Any food you leave he chases her away
-If we leave two piles of food on opposite ends of the yard he will keep switching between them trying to run her off from eating.
-Tries to rape her
-Literally ate the side of the house and we had to put up a fence to stop them
-If you seperate them they scream their heads off

I'd get rid of him if i could but that's up to mom. She also wont let me tie him to a post for some reason. Actually, I think I'll talk with her again about that.

@skullbie: Your goats sound a lot like my rabbits! Although my male bunny has gotten a lot better since we had him fixed. Nevermind the other bunny, he used to go after the cats. O_o

Are there any good, free image editing softwares out there these days? I got my computer running again but it's randomly decided that it won't install photoshop now, and I don't really have time to figure out what the problem is before I leave tomorrow morning. I don't need anything too fancy, not bringing my tablet or anything. Just need to be able to put together graphics for the newsposts.

@hippie: I used gimp once, it was okay. I think its great for small scale editing. Took me a while to get used to it. I have it installed on my dinky laptop, while I have CS6 installed on my desktop.

Just packing up my carry on, flight tomorrow morning. I got pills from the vet to give my cat, but that's easier said than done. Hopefully I can hide it in a treat, because otherwise I imagine she'll meow the whole time and annoy everyone on the plane.

I've been feeling surprisingly not anxious, so I'm worried (somewhat ironically) that it will all come out tomorrow on the way to the airport. I'll be on my own for five weeks, which is pretty big for me.

Good luck on the flight Hippie! Never heard of taking a cat openly on a plane.
If you have trouble posting you can always organise to have Kawaii or I do it instead :)

Goats are all bastards.

It took me till 3am last night to finish the play part of the quackcast… I have to finish the rest and upload it late today. - Wich will be something like 2 or 3 hours than the normal time.
It's pretty funny :)
Some of it would work better as a normal style radio play though, where we can get cleaner recordings and different takes on the line recordings, but it wouldn't be as quick or as fun to do as it was doing it live with Abt, Pit, Tantz and Banes, all laughing our heads off ^_^

You'll be fine, Hippie! Five weeks from now, you might want another five weeks on your own. Think of the freedom of having no curfew, no sleep schedule, and being able to go out whenever you want. And Oz is correct, this is a team effort and we are here to help!

Speaking of bastards. I had a run in with a junior security guard whose main job was elevator line control for a pretty popular tourist attraction. After a back and forth that escalated into utter nonsense, I ended up being escorted from the building by five brutes. The best part of all was that I was dressed in a nice cardigan, wool A-line skirt, knee highs and dress shoes, and I did not fit the description of a hooligan.

I was tiffed at the way the line queue was being managed. I am too stubborn. Looks like my sense of humor during the situation was not appreciated! I learned an important lesson: When being questioned if there is a "problem", and remaining silent is not an option, responding with the phrase, "I'm-ma sorry. I-a no-a speak-a English." Is an instant guarantee the odds will not end in your favor.
