You sure they're not just washed once and then sprayed with "girl scent"? (Like that can of new car scent they spary into every used car on the lot) It'd be easier than having some girl in a shop and all she does all day is put on panties and then take them off so they're "used"
I do the laundry in my house so maybe I'll start sending my wife's old worn out undies to Japan. Used, abused and stained… here you go otaku hentai! How moe is that? It didn't come out with the spray and wash so it's all yours!
I was reading comics as is my habit the other day and the desktop went black and then into safe mode. WTF? It wouldn't restart no matter waht and I got a bunch of start-up files corrupt messages. The Hard drive was toast. We're gonna have to replace it again.
If that wasn't bad enough just the day before my glasses snapped in half, so now I'm making do with the old perscription. I can see well enough to drive but can't read any signs. I can recognize the shapes and figure out words well enough so warning and hazard signs aren't a problem. Navigation is the problem. Oh yeah turn down Main street,,, I can't read any signs! I wait until I see a sign that has four letters one of which looks like an "M". That's got to be Main! Nope it was Mary Street.
On the bright side, hard drives are cheap nowadays. I 500gb HD cost me about $100. If not for a flooding disaster in Thailand a couple years ago they'd be as cheap as $50 (Thailand is where most of the worlds hard drives come from apparently).
I told my sister about the image with those used Japanese women's panties inside a vending machine. She said…
"See? This is why you need to get married. Your wife would protect you from things like that."
Thanks for adding nightmare fuel to the fire, sis.
It's almost as bad as that one joke where a guy threw his 1 month worn straight underwear at the wall… which the underwear started to climb all by itself…
Oh, well… at least I won't see anything more horrible. LIke a Gorn from Star Trek Online wearing a speedo with the Vacation Planet Risa events going on (already seen a female Caitian/Ferasan wearing a string bikini… and wondered if they overheat sunning themselves under Risa's dual star system).
It could always be worse… or better :) There's this Japaenes porn where whole ladies are inside a vending machine! Initially you thing it's pretty novel… but then you realise it's creepy and sad, especially when the guys thrown them in the bin when hey're done. -_-
Also, speedo? How about a C-string? Or Penis glove? Yes, it could ALWAYS be worse, so much worse. When the C-string I bought on ebay (after taking a lot of painkillers due to a bad migraine…) finally gets to me I don't know what I'll do with it.
Speaking of speados though, I need a new pair of bathers… maybe I'll get a pair? I really HATE boardshorts, they're so horrible to swim in and even worse to walk around in when you're sopping wet. Funny because when I was little, speado bathers were all I wore and I hated them because I found them embarrasing.

We're going for a whole new tower as the one we had was over seven years old. The CD and DVD drives were iffy and the USBs were all 1.0. Also the wife and I can't break open stuff and rebuild them with a sodering gun between our teeth. Beyond my level of maintenance. :-)
And would you get married already? Stop obsessing and whining and just pick up the next good looking girl you see and plop her in front of a minister. I hear the Philippines is good for that.
So to add to the Japanese behavior on Hawaiian islands we can add Otaku on Oahu and Moe on Maui to Kawaii on Kauai. How about starting a maid cafe on Maui called Moe on Maui? Yeah they ask to see the owner and out walks this pale mainlander.
Installing hard drives isn't very hard. All you need is a screwdriver and a water pipe (or a similar surface you can touch to get rid of any static electricity on you). It's as simple as opening the case, disconnecting then removing the old device, take it to the computer store so you can get a new hard drive with matching connections, then installing the new one. The hard bit (which does NOT require a sodering gun) is the software installation.
So I guess it's better to have one prebuilt. Just make sure you know what's in it, and make sure you get the Operating System disc to go with it. This way if a virus or some computer disaster kills your machine you won't have to pay the shop to get the computer up and running again. And reinstalling your OS isn't really hard either. Just make sure you have drivers for your video card and motherboard on hand.
Hopefully your new tower has the specs to run Star Trek Online (don't remember if it was you or someone else who tried the game only to have the thing chugging slowly… and I suspect that the machine wasn't up to spec to run that game).
Thank you mr. knife wielding maniac, for choosing that precise moment to maniacally wield your knife. Thanks for bringing down the entire weight of the metropolitan police on our doorsteps, with helicopters and 15 squad cars and incident vans and an armed response unit. Thanks for having to be talked into surrender by trained negotiators while your victim receives emergency medical treatment and our streets are cordoned off for hours. Most of all, thanks for choosing to do this just when the milk has run out.

Was it least at a decent hour? The gun wielding maniac decided to attack my next door neighbor at 3 AM. And he was talked into surrender by New Brunswick cops screaming "JUST DO IT MAN, JUST DO IT!" The USA is much more interesting, down and dirty, hands on in how it handles such things in a crime ridden urban environment.
It was a leisurely 4pm Bravo and judging by the four hours it took to resolve, there wasn't much stateside urgency on display. I suspect like me, the negotiators were waiting for backup of the hot, milky variety before they got started and probably some biscuits to go with it too.
Yeah… that guy went down the hotel district running over anyone he could with his car. Then when he crashes his car he jumps out and stabs everyone he can. I guess he was doing the knife version of these bombings and shootings we keep seeing in the news…
A lot of gun (Enthusiasts? Nuts? Chauvinists?) silly people like to claim that knife attacks are just as bad, if not many times worse than gun attacks. Funnilly enough there are no knives that can stab people at further than the range you can reach with your arm (throwing loses the knife), no kives that can stab through wood, glass, steel, or brick, and still kill you, no knives that can fracture inside every person they stab, causing a huge internal cavity of mashed organs, no knives that can easily bust straght through your head and pulp most of your brain in one go. Also, knife wounds might look worse but they're a LOT easier for a surgeon to repair.

Ironscarf, that sounds anoying, but somehow cool too :) I love the bobby helmet. Did they actually wear those?
You know, with all the Quackcasts I've done, I honestly can't remember all the things I've discussed in them and the converstations I've had, hahaha, so mannny! I can rememer quite a frew specific ones, but not most of them.
Same with featured comics… In fact those are worse. A blur @_@

Sadly not. Allegedly they are still standard issue, but I can't remember when I last saw one. They tended to be worn by Bobbies on the beat, but since they always show up in squad cars now and the helmets won't fit in, they always wear the boring black caps, if anything.

Today I rescued an old lady! Stepping into the garden shed I noticed she'd settled down for the day, about two inches under Cynthia's web (Cynthia is our resident large arachnid). Cynthia is never short of a meal, so I felt justified in rescuing the Old Ladyand here she is.

That doesn't say much for the featured comics. Nothing memorable, nothing that sticks out just same old stuff and a complete blur. Come on this is supposed to be exciting stuff not daily drudgery!

I wouldn't say that at all! There are many memorable and interesting features, that's why they're featured afterall. I've just done so many over the years that it's hard to recall a lot of them.
I think that's pretty much how memory works though: If you have less reason to revisit an experience then the nurones won't be copied and repeated, which makes those memories harder to find and less likley to be recalled casually because there are also less connections to them.
With featured comics you read though pretty much the entire thing so you don't really need to keep revisiting them- especially since you'll have to do the same thing again with more of them in the coming weeks… which also mean you can't practially regully follow new updates from the comics you've featured because there's too many to keep track of. So those memories get shuffled into long-term, hard to recall storage.
I wound up seeing Transformers 4 last night by accident. A (handsome) friend of mine is leaving the country for a while so he invited a bunch of people to see 22 jump street at 10pm. I have to get up at 6 for work so I really shouldn't have gone at all, but I wanted to. He paid for my ticket so I didn't even realize until we were going in to the theatre that they had changed their minds about what movie we were seeing. -_- And oh my god, it was the longest, dullest, explodiest movie I've ever had to sit through. Just truly awful in every way, and it went on and on.
I'm completely ridiculous when it comes to loud noises, too. I tend to get kind of over-stimulated and anxious after a while. So nearly three hours of solid KABOOM RATATAT was pretty unpleasant.

Holymoley 0_o Honestly I wonder why they seem to mobilize the entire department…I mean i guess its better than not having enough people, but is twenty cop cars and an armored tank enough? One must think.

If it makes you feel any better 22 jump street was a two-hour gay joke that lost its funniness around thirty mins in. I have no idea why it's getting high reviews…"it knows its the exact same movie as the first!". Woow. *american applause*
It is a truth universally aknowledged that good looking friends of the gender we prefer can talk us into almost anything. :)

I want to get this thing underway where we occasionally replace the background image of DD with something to promote DD projects of just good art pieces by people that we vote on as being the best, but I don't want to administer it. I'lll put the images up though. I wish we had a DD promo comitee that could undertake things like that.
Just change the name of this thread to Promo Committee Show And Tell, then we'll all be in the promo committee like it or not. We should organise a fundraising event for starters, once we've voted for a chair.
