I'm thinking of going to two news posts a day…
But who would sign on to do that?
I'd like the new ones to be about art techniques, or technical stuff in general maybe? Not sure…

Otherwise you would be condemning one newspost to not being read. It's like putting up two pages of a comic daily. Most people will miss one even if there are all kinds of reminders. Anything short of a hammer blow to the head won't get everyone to check for previous pages. Someone always misses the boat.
One a day is enough. You might want to consider extending them to weekends though. That wayou you would only need two more columns rather than five. Then once that is done and there are more volunteers expand it again. One step at a time.
You might also want to consider follow-up news posts. Not necessarily a continuation but a summary and discussion of the comments the previous news post garnered.
We already do a newspost on the weekend- Tantz does a great one every Saturday.
Sunday is left open for sponsored posts to earn the site money… I have some enquires for that.
There's the traffic, more than for the forums, because it's the main page of the site, there's always people no matter what. This is why I'm thinking about expanding the posts, because we have positive engagement there more than anywhere else.
The features and the Quackcasts get almost no engagement regardless though.
Maybe the extra posts could just be on those two days for now?
I think 2 a day could work because that's not an overload in a 24 hour period. The first one would just drop one space down and still be there. Maybe the second newspost could have a smaller picture to further differentiate there two?
You idea of follow up posts is good. We'll have to think about that for Kawaii, Hippie, and Tantz's posts.
Yesterday I made a phone call and now I am waiting for an application packet so I can attend an orientation and begin my sixth job. I am very excited about this opportunity and happy I followed up with the job lead I received last month.
After all, a job is only work if it does not make me happy or is not fun.

Or perhaps a regularly updating comic AND a news post from Bravo!
I would rather be taken sick with flu.
Reading one would make you sick,
Because my prose is so thick.
I will not do it, not at all,
In winter, summer, spring or fall.
To just fill in, none could be worse,
To torture us more you could ask for verse.
I will not do it neither tomorrow nor today,
Ask all you want, you'll never have your way.

Really not into the idea, honestly. I think one a day is very reasonable and makes the site look active while not overwhelming anyone (including me).
I think if we're looking to make the site more active we should be brainstorming about how to redirect that engagement to various other areas of the site. Community projects, the forums, etc.
I did a pencil drawing of a friend's dog and legitimately have zero idea what I should charge for it! I was kind of hoping they'd propose a price. Rates seem to vary so widely. And it's hard to find good advice online for "what to charge for slightly crappy commissioned pencil sketch"
I'm pumped that people want to pay me to do creative stuff, though! I also had someone ask to buy one of my cross stitches, so that's really cool.
How can a problem go on and on for a year with no solution in sight, that can be solved by one person in 20 minutes?
Well athe least it's taken care of now and I might be able to get some work done. Now anyone who doesn't want me to ever do another comic pq me and I will tell you where to send the money.
Is that tumbleweed….
So dating… I'm in my late thirties now and dating. It's hard work. Meeting someone isn't all that easy, well it is but meeting the right kind of person, not so much. Lately I've met some lovely girls but their are far too young for me. I'm talking fresh out of uni etc. Problem is when I met older people they just aren't interesting of they are so damaged theye are just looking for someone to look after them or they want serious commitment straight away. Or they are nuts and want freaky stuff that would make El Cid think twice.
Hahaha, looks like you're having better luck than me!
Do you have a good idea of what you want? That can be part of the problem.
I don't even bother going for anyone bellow 28 for example… but I'm not even sure what I want ultimately.
"Damage" or baggage is a big theme with some. I'm not there to be a porter or glue for someone. We all have our life experiences, bad AND good. Too many let the bad define them.
It's so easy to forget the good and so hard to forget the bad. No one ever got PTSD from enjoying a fun filled day at an amusement park.
So they cling to what is needed to defend themselves against the bad ever happening again instead of welcoming the possibility of something good.
And there's the cycle of negatives. If you never expect anything good, nothing good will.happen thereby reinforcing your belief that nothing good ever happens. Feeds on itself. See: self-fulfilling prophecy, self-sabotage.
And that all further reinforces poor self-esteem.
Try picking up Girls at group therapy. At least there you have a better chance of knowing what you're getting ahead of time and a built-in support system of mental health care professionals when things go wrong. I think I am paraphrasing the old Bob Newhart show and Seinfeld there…
If it makes you feel any better, I'm in my late 20's and have the same issue, albeit with "hyper-religious" replacing "wanting freaky stuff" if I even get as far as meeting someone to begin with. I don't think it's so much an issue related to age as it is to the fact that dating past college is rough no matter who you are.
And to be honest, I think I could tolerate hyper-freaky much better than hyper-religion. At least with freaks I'm in my comfort zone. Nutters and freaks can at least be relied upon to commit to the least sensible course of action every single time and I've dealt with them plenty of times in the past. The devoutly religious are usually just bland; absolutely no fun at all.
actually I kind of include religious people in with freaks… an insult to the freaks I guess.
@Ozone, the knowing what I want thing, yes that is an issue. I know what I want in the short term, the long term is more problematic. As it turns out I have met someone who I'm getting on well with, time will tell I guess.
Honestly it would be hard to find ones freakier than the ladies that I have already dated. A Knife wielding, bi-polar nympho, redhead is hard to beat.
And she looked exactly like Angie from El Cid 's Death porn.

So I got as many film versions of A Christmas Carol I could download (no Mr. Magoo or Mickey) and I will be watching them through new year. And I can't stop humming Christmas carols. Merry Christmas.
My last relationship was with a bipolar nymphomaniac. That had some ups and downs I tell ya. She looked like Cameron Diaz as a rock chick. Strangely enough that's a relationship that pretty much imploded.
This new one was who prompted my post about this. We had a few dates and she was very guarded and I thought she wasn't interested but shortly after she messaged me and apologised for being toon reserved, after that she opened up we are getting on great.

You may be pleased to know that, that really was Cameron Diaz. After her last few movies she was looking for a total change.

So I got through Alistair Sim, Albert Finney, Reginald Owen and the 2009 Jim Carrey animated. (Jim Carrey does a real good Alistair Sim imitation)
Just started George C. Scott. Great casting with Nicholas Nickelby as Fred and Reinhardt Heydritch as Bob Cratchit.
I was going to bring B.A.S.O. back in November but here we are a staring the end of 2016 in the eyes and it hasn't happened. In fact I haven't even rendered a single panel of the new pages. I have it written but my heart isn't in it right now and I know the new year won't really allow for much creativery time and I'll need to concentrate my efforts. The thing is I don't want to abandon it but it's been on the back burner for a long time. I think the issue is that it's such a large ongoing prospect. There is no end in sight. With Lore which is also a little stalled I have done it in chucks which has worked better for the most part. And then there is Blood and Water which is where my creative focus is right now, but I'm having a creative wobble. I'm not feeling the love for my 3D work at the moment. I'm almost tempted to start over on Blood and Water and do it hand drawn. I have things to mull over.

I hope you do manage to get back into it Genejoke!
Have you some tips to get Banes writing again? I need more pages of the bottomless waitress script!
You can't turn writing on and off like a light; writing needs to be kindled and tended like a fireplace. Writing an on-going series is a steady process and should be seen to its end. If you turn it on and off, the result will be a choppy story. That's a problem with a lot of web comics done a page at a time. They sputter and spurt from page to page and are very uneven narratives. There is no flow at all.
I kindle the writing fires by re-reading and editing past work. Polishing what has come before gets me going on what is to come. Another thing I do , that can only be done word-processing, is to use my outline as the precise template for the script. I open the outline, rename the document and flesh it out as I go along.
And if there is a problem, I have enough work going on at one time to put one on the back burner to let it sort itself out. Don't think too much about a problem, brain storm it with flights into fantasy. Be ridiculous with what could happen next and sometimes that'll open a door to a more reasonable story path.
In every day, there are moments that can be gathered together into an hour or so to work. Set aside the time and keep to it. It doesn't have to be a solid eight hours, just getting into the habit of an hour can get your mind disciplined to the point where it does just flow. You're not turning on a switch, just seeing to the fire that is always burning in the hearth.
Another method for getting unstuck is to write about writing. Muse about the process a bit, or muse about the birds making so much noise in the grilles of the window air conditioner. And you might find yourself thinking about the relationships in your current story from a new angle. One ember might have gone out but there's another that can be worked into a flame.
