The human capacity for being stupid is infinite.

One cannot fix stupid but only try to prevent it.

I haven't used facebok in about 8 years. I listen to youtube while I draw and use Tik Tok a lot but I don't have an account cuz its controlled by the ccp. Also rumble sometimes because of the sensor ship.

I'm waiting for the day when we can discuss things again without the hysteria.

I feel pretty much the same. I still have this Facebook thing, but didn't use it for about 3 years (and I forgot the pasword anyway). You can't even have good old pointles internet argument without getting banned after few minutes. Now everything has to be safe, because Big Corporation wants to use those mainstream websites to sell you shit you don't need without the risk of someone saying "nigger" in the chat.

Like Ozone said, hysteria won't end, we are only going to get more.

And I now wonder wht the next big current thing is going to be. Seems like this Ukraine thing doesn't really do the job. We need something new, so all good boys ang girls can use it in their avatars. What do you think it's going to be?

Guns. It's already started on Twitter.
Pretty soon user names will just be rainbow and Ukrainian flags, BLM and ban guns with no room for anything else.

Everything since the arrival of Web 2 reminds me of one of those planets they would often beam down to on Star Trek. It's just like Earth in many ways, but some quirk in their evolution turned it into a raving madhouse where everyone dresses badly and worships a malfunctioning computer.

You will virtue signal or you will be absorbed back into the body! Hold the assigned beliefs. Do not question. Landru commands it.

Kirk is on it. Shatner has been called out a few times for attempting to talk sense.

It's gonna be SOLAR FLARES

but they won't actually be solar flares and we won't get to talk about them for long.

Pair of solar flares? Isn't that
wide bell bottom pants made of iridescent material?
Go best with a big Afro wig and high heel roller skates. Pure 1970s disco roller boogie craze. :D

I wear as a badge of honor the fact I was thrown out of a disco in the seventies. Before I even got from the door to the bar.

Lol

I was kicked out of a bar in the 90s for wearing a Pop will eat itself Tshirt. It seemed logical at the time. Smh

I didn't understand that T-Shirt thing at all haha, was that a reference?

The other day my mum told me about a stupid quote someone shared on Facebook something about "The key to anger is acceptance", and she was telling me how dunmb it was.

I really brought him how banal social communication over FB could become- people sharing and resharing anodyne, nonsensical quotes and memes with zero context, application, reason, or personal input of their own. Like a bunch of monkeys all imitating each other over and over.

The net used to be about individuality and creativity, but now a good portion of it has gone over to ultra conformity. Sure, sometimes people actually create memes but generally they don't do much more than slightly change an existing format.
I've always found it to be exasperatingly banal.

Like others I found myself occasionally, grudgingly sharing those too. The system encourages it.

I've actually never even liked the trope of characters that share quotes to show how smart they are… quoting Shakespeare, Milton, Bacon… Unless it has a context and it really seriously FITS the situation then STFU.

The t shirt thing, yeah if you know you know.

Haha

Okay, pop will eat itself, late 80s early 90s rock rap dance fusion with often daft lyrics and iconic album covers and t shirts. It was said at some point on the 90s they sold more t shirts than records. Also one of their more famous songs was "can U dig it" hence my comment that maybe they didn't dig it.

And conspiracy theory.
Flat Earth!
Ancient Rome didn't exist!
The early Middle Ages didn't exist!
UFOs (still third or fourth as most searched thing)
Anti-vaxx
NWO
And more…

Conversely a personal favorite
Ancientaliensdebunked.com
Tears it to pieces and links to all the translated Sumerian texts so you can read it all yourself and see it's not about aliens.

I highly recommend Inspirobot. It randomly generates original motivational memes which will restore your faith in humanity.

Ahh! Something I missed at the time LOL!

Back then I was into glam metal and hard rock mainly then alt rock and grunge in the 90s.

Do you have days where you're just "off" and your brain can't think right? That's how I am today. Blargh!
It's like when you're running through water- you can still run but it's so much slower than normal and takes 10x the effort.

I get this regularly and put it down to rarely getting enough sleep. Are you having the required seven hours kip? It's probably the inevitable result of your rock star lifestyle.

Shocked to see my comic in the top ten this morning and we haven't even met Cynthia yet, or the Doubletake Sisters! Absolute madness.

A massive thank you to whoever has been reading Ghastley Heights.
