You know, though I hate our North American materialistic Christmas, when I peeked at my presents and found an accordian I nearly crapped myself. I'm, uh… countin' the days…

So far awaaaaaay, we wait for daaaaay!
Through the cold and the snow we carry ooooooooooon!

In high school and college bands, I played: flute, piccolo, trumpet, mellophone (marching version of french horn), and valve trombone. I tried to stay away from reed instruments like sax & clarinet. …I don't like sucking wood if I don't have to. ;)

I've had a guitar hanging on my wall for a few years. :D

I'm waiting for my hands to get a tad bigger…and reconciling with the possibility of callousing the fingertips.

I'd love to learn to play the drums, actually, but we have no place for them… D:

Flute, for six years in school bands. Uh, guess I'm a creature of habit?

I sing…

…Awesomely.

I actually sing with a makeshift rock band at local bars in Houston. My drummer used to drum for Selena, no joke.

I used to play the trombone, Concert and Jazz.

Oh yeah.

I tried playing guitar at one point, without taking actual lessons, but I gave up on that.

I played the recorder in the 4th grade, but it was for school only, so I gave up on that, too. I still play it sometimes, though.

Now, I play the piano (well, technically it's a keyboard), and I want to play the drums.

I tried learning how to play the drums in the 7th grade at my school, but I gave up on that as well (yeah, I gave up on a lot of things DX) but I'm glad I did because that would have come back to haunt me (and my schedule).

I played the piano when I was like 10 or 11, but I was only able to play 4 songs xD. I won't bother mention the names of this songs, too embarrassing :s.

I've been teaching myself the mandolin on and off for a few years, but I'm usually out of practice.

When I was younger, I've tried learning piano, violin, and clarinet. The first two I chickened out on because I was afraid of recitals. I stopped playing clarinet because I never signed up for band past 7th grade… all because I didn't like my middle school band teacher.

Cool! XD Sounds like a fun thing to learn.

I play piano and violin. But I guess if you play violin, you can also play viola and cello as long as you can read the music. I can kinda read alto [still a bit slow at it though], sooo. Yep.

But I've wanted to learn guitar for a long time. Partly because it's a tad more versatile than a violin, but mostly because people are always like, "Oh. Cool?" when I tell them that I play violin. I wanna be one of the cool kids that plays guitar. XD

Oh man, that melodic minor/altered dominant stuff is almost better than sex!

I think I need to grow some kind of goatee.

I used to practise keyboard when I was younger. Used to lug my own in every week at primary school so I could learn. But the lessons weren't very good and I knew it. Because I couldn't move onto using two hands. But my parents couldn't afford proper tutoring so that was what I had to do to get at least some skill. I taught myself how to play warious tunes by ear with one hand. And despite an injury to my left hand and wrist I got in early 2000, I tried as hard as I could in high school to perform the two handed music sheets with the chord assist mode on. And I was so good at them that at the end of every music lesson I'd have enough spare time to learn a few extra tunes by myself. Including a popular dance track at the time.
But then, I was given a choice. A choice I regret to this day. I couldn't pick both art and music. So on an almost coin-toss decision I went with art. Where I wasn't allowed to be as creatively expressive. And because of the RIDICULOUS homework amounts I was getting from that and other classes I was sitting at a table at least 10 hours some nights doing nothing but homework. And something really bad happened in one class when I was 15 that still affects my hearing today.

I had to stop practising so often. Then completely stopped. And my keyboard is now a shelf. It's almost never plugged in. And when I try to play again I just get depressed because of why I hadn't played it for so long.

FUCKING EDUCATION SYSTEM!!!

I played the piano for six years, then realized I hate the sound of a piano. I played baritone for three years, too. In all honesty, though, I someday want to learn the violin.

I've attempted many times to play the penny whistle. I enjoy it, but with everything else I don't have time to practice regularly.

Penny whistle? Hell yes!!! 8D

You have taste my friend. ;)

I have one too (a bass one). But it's pretty easy to play since it has a very similar fingering to the sax.
