Hey, why aren't we talking about hair???
So… what's your thing? Bald, long, short and spiky, fake bed hair (if so you must die), bowl cut, crew-cut, coloured manga freak, hair model?

Hair… I've had mine long since I was a teen. Because I always wanted long hair ^^
Back in my late teens I made the mistake of thinking ponytails were cool… luckily I saw the error off my ways and went back to NOT having a pony tail. Although I still plait it back neatly away when I have important interviews or for formal occasions.

Is your hairstyle important to you? I love my long hair…
What about baldness? A lot of people look either regal or hardcore with a bald head… And then there's the ones who look strange like that pointy headed guy from all the 70's B horror movies.

Hair… I think Stardusty is still the God of hair here at DD :)

Mostly I care about it being easy to take care of and style because I'm lazy. That was kind of the case all through high school. I was the girl with long, gorgeous hair who did absolutely nothing with it so it was wasted. Then one day I cut it all off! So now I am all about the short hair for myself. Long enough to cover my ears but that's about it! (I once got it cut too short and then everyone thought I was a lesbian.) I did like having long hair but it's so much harder to take care of. Plus it made my head look small (broad shoulders and short neck)… so short hair I can make foofy and STUFF. When I can be bothered.

I have to say though I don't really like long hair on guys. Something about it seems untidy to me, or maybe it just seems too feminine. I much prefer when guys have short hair, perhaps not bald, but short enough that clippers may be used instead of scissors. (Also I despise when a guy's fingernails are long enough to show much of any white, but that's a different topic.)

I use so much gel and hairspray for my hair it's not funny.

My hair style resembles that of Draco-Malfoy's from Hairy potter…Except alittle longer and black. I also have this pointy thing up in front because I thought it'd look cool, I've seen hairstyles in anime with the 3 little pointy bangs and decided I should do that…I just put them together to make a thick strand.

I've got long natural red hair~ :3 I'd like to dye it a whacky colour like pink but at the same time I really like the colour it is now. It's ginger but not orange ginger~ it's just subdued enough that I don't stand out like a belisha beacon but unusual enough for people to notice it. :) I like it and take quite a bit of time making it nice but I hardly spend hours doing it. I usually just leave it down or scrape it back into a braid. I want to get it styled nicely and maybe get a fringe cut in but I can't afford it and I don't trust myself with the scissors!

I like enough hair on a man so that I can run my fingers through it. Curly hair on guys is lovely (as long as it's kept clean and nice) as is long hair. ^.^ Generally if it's just kept clean and is combed more than once a month I'll go for it. I'm not one for bald heads though, shaven or natural… and I HATE hair gel! (sorry Glarg!) When a man has their hair styled with gel or anything it's ewwy to me - I want to run my fingers through it, not get them stuck there. D: I don't want it forzen~ I want to see it blow in the breeze all bishonen-like. XD

Glarg, that last part of your description sounds like Ed Grimly! Hahahahaha!

Eww, Skool likes short hair dudes. That means she can never be mine! Curses!
Agreed about long nails though: creepy.
I have an aversion to any style that becomes a "regulation" sort of look… When all people get the same style because of fashion, culture or, work (say the Army for example), that's as creepy as long nails. Short hair on men or women is ok as long as I see variety. Not the "50's dad" type though, that "normal" style was a hangover from WW2 when almost every man was in the armed forces…

People thought you were a Lesbian when you had short hair? o_O Where do you come from?

I HATE hair gel! (sorry Glarg!) When a man has their hair styled with gel or anything it's ewwy to me - I want to run my fingers through it, not get them stuck there.
Yeah, gel is a bit yuck! I had a friend who had quite groovy short hair, but he insisted on gelling it up like mad! Made him look like a tool. Man, if I had hair like his I'd have it short too…

No offense, I like my hair when it's greasy…just when the gel starts to harden it irritates me. All crunchy and painful, I just wanna pick at it and try to seperate the neatly set hairs.

I'll agree that some points hair gel mostly has it's downs but it has its good sides too…one time in mexico the heat got alittle high, It turned my brushed back hairstyle into an afro…Dead serious, That was the single greatest day of my life because I finally got to wear some disco shoes, a white tuxedo, and a medalian.

I had long hair once. I like long hair, except when bangs get in your mouth when you eat. And long hair weighs too much.

My hair now is short :( I had to cut it to get into the "professional world" but I plan on growing it back out soon.

Glarg, get some pomenade or however you spell it…it won't crust your hair and it won't look greasy!

Thanks for the tip, I'll look for it in the stores.

Hair? It's a patch of fur that sits on top of your head. Just what the hell is so special about it?

I like short hair-styles. I used to keep mine fairly short, but I've decided to let it grow out a bit, which I'm starting to regret since it's not very fun on hot days. I can't stand gels or hair spray..

This was in Idaho, haha :D Understandably though, my hair was VERY short (fairly mannish) and I really don't have the face/bone structure to pull that kind of thing off. I looked very butch. :[ Also I delivered pizzas and worked at a pool hall/bowling alley and had gained a little weight… so the complete package was there.

I dunno why people in the UK seem to have such an aversion to redheads (or as they call them, gingers). I quite like the look of pale skin and orange hair :) It probably has something to do with witches… maybe… Every now and then though you hear on the news about someone who got beat up because they were ginger-haired, or a family had to move because the neighborhood kids harrassed them so much… ridiculous. It's just hair people!

One of the things I regret about the UK is that there isn't enough sunlight in the summer to turn my hair red, like it usually does. :[ I have no idea how the chemistry of that works, but I always loved how being out in summer sunshine turned my hair from light brown to a sort of rusty auburn. Sunshine bleach maybe? It hasn't done that since I've moved here, damn all this rain and cloud cover. >:[

I have long straight hair, past my waist. However, this is mostly because I'm too lazy to style it, not for any sort of fashion statement. I do like long hair, though, on guys or girls, as long as it's combed and kept neat. Long hair is gross when it gets all stringy and raggedy and greasy, ugh.

Bah. I have a 6-inch afro on my head. My hair used to be a little past my shoulders but I got tired of it ( I'm black; it takes more effort to style my type of hair D: )

Long enough to cover my ears but that's about it! (I once got it cut too short and then everyone thought I was a lesbian.)

I understand this. When I first got a hair cut, it was only an inch long. I don't even remotely look like a guy, but having short hair seemed to automatically make me a lesbian @_@. I'm happy my hair's a lot longer then it was when I first cut it now; I hate comments like that.

I buzz my hair ghetto style in the summer. I used to have "shitlocks" and my hair is long enough to braid it back into the shitlocks, but I don't know if I should or not. Shitlocks if you don't know, well, they look like shitty dreadlocks. I've also sported shaggy hair like I got now. I'll either buzz it down with the clippers myself or I'll just let it grow. Not like I go anywhere or do anything.

I SHOULD LET IT GROW UNTIL I BECOME COUSIN IT THEN EVERYONE WOULD DIE.

I dunno why people in the UK seem to have such an aversion to redheads (or as they call them, gingers).

Women it denotes their sexual chemistry -

Redheads = more Blowjobs

Brunettes = Neutral

Blondes = more Fucking

Any odd color like blue or pink = MADNESS

Once again (and again after a marine post, coincidence?) I must ask folks to keep any sex stuff to a minimum, as it's a General thread. :)

I've been dying my hair this dark auburn red color nowadays. I think I like it the best on me…and my hair is always short, I rarely pull it back…because I think my mom's sensitive scalp is genetic or something. Ponytails give me headaches after a while. >_>

However, I tend to like longer hair on guys. XD

I have long brown hair, pretty much to my shoulders.

It is a bit curly at the ends, but it's all good.

(I once got it cut too short and then everyone thought I was a lesbian.)

That is the problem with short hair as a girl, you get considered butch. I don't like short hair on women, I like them to have long hair. :)

Although that could be because alot of them are butch.

I havn't got any plans for a haircut anytime soon either, not after last time. I looked like a total dick, so I plan to grow my hair for quite a while longer. I just think long hair on blokes look cool, plus if you have a shaved head you look like a convict.

EDIT: To the comment below, I wash my hair everyday and I only use a brush. I hate gel and I hate greasy hair! :(

I went through my childhood having a really short haircut, which made me look even rounder than I am. Then, I started growing out my hair, and it got to be…hmmm…Three, Three-and-a-half feet long? I grew it from Middle school through to my Senior year of High school.

Then, I chopped it off, to just below shoulder-length, and donated it to Locks of Love. My friends, who had always had a lovely time braiding my hair, were pissed with me. Well, I decided right then and there, I still wanted long hair, but any time I had enough to donate, I would.

Or, long story short, I like my hair long. I've dyed it a few times, mostly red, but recently I went back to my natural brown color, a few shades darker than normal.

I don't care what hair a guy has, long or short, so long as it feels natural and not gelled over or whatever. Maybe a little longer than "normal", as long as it doesn't look like the guy never washes it.

What's that Mr Pink?

Oo, lots of hair stuff… Ok, where to start?
*Afros are good, if I had that as an option I'd definitely use it!
*Ginger hair is fine with me, on men or women… The British just like to pick on people for things, they're not allowed to be racialist and pick on ethnic minorities anymore, so ginger hair is an acceptable reason for bullying instead. I don't know why it's acceptable, if they weren't picking on the ginger haired kid it'd be the Jewish one, the black one or the Asian one.
-(it's not who you pick on, it's the fact that you are picking on someone)
*Short hair on women can be just as sexy as long hair. Variety is lovely ^_^
*Ha, Knew Marine had long hair!

Eh, mine is "fluffy". That's how it's been described. Long and fluffy… With lots of curls. Getting darker as I get older, but still goes nice and blonde in the sun. Still, hat's make the best compliment for hair. We need more hats!

Don't really do anything to my hair. May wear a hat if it gets too out of control.

I've got to say, I really like a guy with a dusky brown skin tone, facial hair, and a mop of curly brown locks. There's something about the combination that I find so cute.

But as far as my own hairstyle goes, I have always been tempted to just go into some sort of punk salon and get an outrageous style. Shaved half, liberty spikes, something that would make jaws drop…then I realize that I probably am not going to be applying for jobs at tatoo parlors or places where I'd get hired for that sort of hairstyle. So for proffessional (ie employment) reasons…I keep my hair somewhat long. It's sort of course and thick, oh god is my hair thick…so the styles I'm limited to with my broad shoulders and heart-shaped face are sort of annoying. It's either a bob or layers, and those are the only 2 styles that beauticians ever reccomend to me. So I keep it long and frizzy, why should I care? I can't get my hair done like I want, so I might as well leave it to it's own devices.

Auburn is also the most annoying shade of hair in the world, just because you have to debate with others who think your hair is brown or red. Can't they just accept it's both?

my dream hairstyle: http://www.fantasycostume.net/fantasy/images/Wigs/thumbs/WigElviraVn25cw306-t.jpg

The fluffy bit up top would have some purple highlights, of course.

Oh, I got my hair cut really short once too! People didn't think I was a lesbian though. They thought I was a guy. Real boost to my feminine confidence, let me tell ya

Well, at least lesbians do attract guys a little bit. Although being mistaken for a bloke is only going to get you one kind of guy…
