Halloween
Halloween's an odd time of year for me. Everyone else starts tuning in to my normal wavelength for a few weeks, and I get to be more open about it while getting a bit of a nostalgia-fueled energy boost.
This year I'm probably going to celebrate a little early since there are a couple of horror movie screenings on the 29th-30th. I might carve a pumpkin or two, we'll see. It's a pretty busy time of year for me, but I do have more free time since two of my project deadlines got extended.
Not sure yet, but I've gotten a ton of offers of something to do ranging from a haunted prison to someone's backyard maze.
Id say the maze would be the better idea of the two.

I too am stuck with a decision.
Either go to the pub with friends and dress as a generic halloween thing
or
go out to the lakes with my girlfriend to see the fire work display
Boring crap.
I kinda miss trick or treating. Might actually skip those two things to take my little brother around the doors.

Considering my gf will be with me, I'm inclined to agree. That said, it's not a corn maze or anything so I have a hard time imagining it'll occupy enough of my time for long.
Also considering heading deep south in Jersey for a party for Rock Band 3. Just a helluva commute back.
Seeing as this time around I'm located near a suburban area, I'll try my hand at trick or treating instead of the usual partying.
The nice thing is, I don't really need to plan a costume. I figure someone over the age of twenty with a decent beard going door to door alone is scary enough.
getting a bag of candy from the store. In Australia we'd say "getting a bag of lollies from the shop.
Not so much different from here. Of course if you where going to the shop to get lollies you'd end up only getting lollies. Not sure if you Aussies use it a cover term for sweets.
i'm thinking about having a casual fly day. keep it on the down low, cause it's massively illegal to wear jeans and a tshirt at work.
Illegal you say?
Not sure, plans are still drifting, but I'm sure I'll be handing out candy for a couple of hours.

And trick-or-treaters who arrive at our door without a costume, especially above the age of 10 or so, must perform (provide a trick) if they want a treat. We've seen some great stuff in past years (we give out pretty good candy). This year I'd really like to get a paper waiver to have them sign so I can tape and youtube.
So come on over B, let's see what you got.
Yep! It means "sweets" :)Not so much different from here. Of course if you where going to the shop to get lollies you'd end up only getting lollies. And yeah, you could drop the "bag" part and it would still make perfect sense here.
Twinned countries!
this halloween i have fire fighter 2 for a while, from 8 am till mid afternoon or so. but then i get to come home and my boyfriend'll be there(he's commin in monday from Kansas)and then well, whatever the hell we feel like doin! maby find a place for a few drinks, gonna dress up of corse.

A trick you say?! Well, let's see…the best I have is probably an ill attempt at singing a high vocal ranged song. For me it sounds alright, but for you it would easily be confused with a blood-curdling scream in which you will commend me for an accurate impersonation of Janet Leigh from that one movie.
The real tricky part of course, is making the journey all the way to your neighborhood. In which case teleportation could be that "trick." ;)
I will probably actually go trick or treating in my wiener* costume and then go to my friend's for his yearly party that I only started going to last year because I used to go over my other friend's house and play Super Smash Bros but then he got a butt head like about it so he wouldn't dress up anymore so my new plan is much more fun.
I will most definitely be doing something inappropriate in my wiener costume.
*Wiener means more than penis people. It can also mean hot dog. But let's use the more giggly term, shall I?
I'll probably be recovering from the London MCM expo that weekend.
I bought wigs and a cheap pair of goggles you can't even use as goggles to try and be a steampunk zombie but that's probably just a pipe dream and I'll just have to be a regular zombie in a wig (One of them didn't even fit my massive Pullip-style head).
Liverpool is crap for Halloween. I guess I was too used to the Scottish obsession for the day in which going out, scaring people and causing general mayhem is REQUIRED!
I haven't gone trick or treating since I was 17. I would take it up again but even kids don't do it very much down here. They're scared they'll get their clothes dirty. Can you believe it?
I'll be on a cruise on Royal Carribbean Lines for my wife's fiftieth birthday. She's frantic about what to wear but I'm sure we'll figure out something. But no pirates. Absolutely no pirates.
I think it would be a hit if you dressed up with an assault rifle, dirty shirt and khat-stained teeth.
