I'm out of shape, but I am NOT fat. I'm just a bit squishy. I've been considering starting to lift weights, since my dad has a whole set of them in our basement…

Maybe after I beat 'Hotel Dusk: 215'.

heh working out to much can be bad for you to, I found this out the hard way.

We just got a new Platoon Sargent (this is the person who leads us when we exercise).
He is Ex-Special Forces. This is bad for little 'ol tanker me. If you know anything about any armed force…armor is always the laziest of the group. I'm in good enough shape to pass the army test, thats it. But this guy…damn.
This is really happened:

Me: Woo 5 mile run sure was fun. When do we have to be back at work?
SFC Jenner: huh? We're not done yet Kassabian! 5 more!
Me: *looking around* uhh i'm the only one left, everyone else fell out a few miles back.
SFC Jenner: LETS DO IT!!

So long story short I now have shin splints because my poor little legs got worked to death.
Remember everything in moderation!

FM 21-10 (i might be wrong)

I don't schedule exercise into my schedule everywhere. But on the other hand, my campus is a collection of buildings spread out in the city, so I'm always walking between them. I also have to work to and from my train station each morning… so that keeps me from blowing up like a balloon.

But I'm planning on picking up bicycling again. We have some huge hills in our area and so its a hard slog one way and pant-wetting speeds the other.

About a year ago, I was fat. I was lazy, and fat. And fat. Then I went on a diet, lost 30 pounds, and most of it is muscle now. Hooray me.

To be honest im average in size, but i lack in the physical fitness, i mean i can take all the pressure and movement i need in the kitchen, but when it comes to running i can do no more than 150m.

You do know what they do to your happy place, right?

I do 43 push ups every morning… does that count as exercise?

43 is about the most I can do though…

Rock climbing is pretty tough, I was embarassed in the first year of high school because I tried it on a team of girls and couldn't make it up and one (who really looked too weak and flabby to do it, thinking after the fact) said she could have and I felt bad.

I'm thinking training pullups would help to some effect.

It's hard staying thin when your pills make you fat. I was 150 a few months ago (I'm 5'11'' ) and then I started meds, now I'm 180… It's a shame too cause I used to be awesome at DDR, now I can't even pass regular old Max 300 on heavy :( Although thats really the only exercise ive ever done so go figure

Last year I lost 92 lbs doing Weight Watchers. I started riding my bike a lot more. I don't have a car. I used to just take the bus everywhere on weekends now I ride everywhere. I should ride to work, but I'm too lazy in the morning.

I also teach Aikido on Wednesdays and train on Fridays. It's a lot easier to roll without all the extra weight.

My downfall is deserts. I love chocolate. The great thing about doing weight watchers is you can still eat deserts, but in moderation.

Yeah taht's a really awesome excuse. x3

I try to be healthy- but I generally don't really do that much, and it doesn't help that half the time I forget to eat lunch and dinner half the time. >_< I shouldn't be allowed to live alone…
After college or whatever I want to get a DDR mat and do that for exercise. I can barely even pass beginner now, though.

Physical fitness? Hm.

I don't consider myself skinny. Of course, I say this because I'm female.

But I consider anyone who has shape and is physically fit skinny. My physical condition is okay. It's not awesome. It's just okay. I'm thin, but I'm not what I wanna be. (Must be thinner!)

So, for the past 6 months, I've been walking a lot and doing sit-ups every night. I'm doing about 200. That stuff made me lose 10 pounds. Now I'm 120. I had to buy a new belt a few days ago ;)

I don't do sports because I consider them to be stupid. Then again, I consider everything to be stupid, me with my teen angst and all. *shrugs* (I always get hurt. Damn you competitive jock kids!)

I'm a fitness nut, I really try to do the best I can to stay healthy.

During the school year I am more hardcore:

- Lift two times a week
- Cardio 4-6 times a week
- Abs 4 times a week

But since it's just summer….

- Jog 2 times a week
- Swim 1 time a week
- Lift 2 times a week
- Abs 2-3 times a week

And about three weeks a go I completely cut out sweets and desserts from my diet, but it's been a B*tch because those were my favorite foods!!! GRR. But don't worry i still practically eat everything else, I've just replaced sweets with fruit. Im not doing no nicole richie thang.

I have been putting the college pudge on so I need to calm down so I don't get all unhealthy when I get older. My goal is to lose all the wieght I gained in college before I graduate. Yar the freshman fifteen rumors are true so WATCH OUT! There are lots of cases of diabetes that run in my family and im too wimpy to take those insulin shots so I rather take the healthy route. :P

That kind of inherited diabetes is different from the one you get from being obese though. I don't think you can avoid it through "healthy" living.

I could be wrong…

Posted at

Type II diabetes is an obesity-related disease, but a predisposition to it is genetic, so if it runs in your family you will have a greater chance of getting it than someone with no family members who are diabetic. Whether you're genetically predisposed to it or not, it's a good idea to stay in shape and avoid a veritable plethora of obesity-related diseases. Now I only have to follow my own advice (pshaw), and I'll be set!

My dad has type I. I'm worried about him because he doesn't do anything about it. No medication, he barely watches what he eats, and the only exercise he gets is when he works(he does construction, which is pretty labor intensive I've done it.)

Posted at

I try to eat well, I bike everywhere and I'm built like a broom handle. I wouldn't say that I'm fit because I'm too skinny and look very weird.

Yeah, I knew type two was obesity related, didn't know there was any predisposition in there though. But do you normally have to take injections for type two?

Posted at

I busted my ankle the other day running! Wonderful no? So that means I ride a bike every freaking day until it heals.

But the way i'm working I should be able to 'take my 6 pack out of the fridge' by the end of next month.
