There is a painting on my wall of a hippo, my uncle made it for me.

Wait? it's pancake day?! I'll be celebrating then. If only because it means BRINNER! HEALL YEAH!

for those of you not awesome enough to understand the magic, brinner= breakfast for dinner. Best when cooked for you by a lovely lady and topped off with bacon ice cream for desert.

pancake day was tuesday the 22nd of february.

but its never to early or to late for your fix of brinner.

Close 'nough. Besides, I covered both bases by getting drunk with a friend and then staggering over to yet another friend's apartment to convince her to cook brinner for a couple of drunken idiots.

It's amazing what you can get a woman to do for you when you put the realization into her head that a) you're an art student, b) you cause damage to damn near everything you touch and c) you're drunk enough to suggest that trying to fry eggs without a pan sounds like a good way to avoid cleaning a pan. Of course, complimenting her and singing in a goofy British accent also help.

British accents, what can't they do?

Actually, the friend in question is an Irish immigrant herself and she thought it funny because I apparently have a weird mix of American and British mannerisms and me making fun of Bono's singing in such a manner is rather amusing to her for some reason.

And I might get a frown or two for saying this, but while poking around on Platinum's site, I found their code of ethics page, boasting a rather large section on conflict of interest which in what I find to be deliciously ironic has several images from Hero By Night right next to it. I just thought it an amusing enough image choice to share.

Hmm… I am trying to do a Canadian accent for my play. It's not working eh.

Getting the Regi's and Latias in Sapphire is hard!!! and really annoying but that's another thing

http://www.drunkduck.com/community/view_topic.php?cid=240&tid=52569&pid=757776 go there to read the latest 1337 master horror stories. In which I want you to be entirely freaked out or sickened by. And hopefully say is written well at least.

I have a feeling that Gravity's Rainbow will turn into The World According to Garp and really piss me off but this writer is pretty good. I like his description techniques…there's a term that sounds more advanced then that…

Tired today but today had the best weather ever. :)

Probably because that doesn't exist…unless you're trying to do a Newfoundland accent, I guess. Other than that, particularly in the middle of Canada our accent is very neutral(we make good translators because of that, or so I've heard). But yeah, the whole "oot and aboot" type pronunciation is a myth.
Some people say eh. I usually don't.

Oh, unless you're doing a French/Quebecois accent?

No way man. I grew up watching Degrassi Jnr High, Beach Combers, Danger Bay, You Can't Do That On Television, The Royal Canadian Air Farce etc, and you Canadians have your own way of speaking. That's for sure! :)

It might not always be Oot and aboot eh, but it's not the same as Americans… depending on where people are from. Some are closer to the US, some are not. And I love New Founlanders :)

Plus, the marvelous Canadian show LEXX has some of the worst tries at American accents by Canadians I've ever heard. -Most of those guys were from Nova Scotia.
The British and German actors in it aren't much better at the US accent. ^___^

All you canadians, australians, americans, brits and scotsmen talk differently. It's just like here in the netherlands, every town has a different accent. We even have a part of our country where people actully speak a different language. its an accent only weirder!

Posted at

us new englanders speak country even though only about ten people I know have the accent and one of them is my sister (y'all)

Well it's supposed to sound outrageous for a comedic addition to the play. And if I'm going to have to disguise my voice that has been disguised for a New Yorker I may as well follow the script's advice.

Or maybe go Aussie like in Xanadu :)

if you didn't get any of that well then that's my brain for you and I'd have to explain half of that to a group of people and a world that could care less.

:D

Great intro to a Canadian accent:

Beachcombers was a classic that I started watching as a teeny little kiddy, along with USA's Sesame Street

Maybe Megavideo, but it only lets you watch 72 minutes and then you have to wait an hour before watching any more. Pretty annoying.

I'm starting to go stir crazy in this little hotel room, and there's a pretty much racist church group meeting going on next door in the banquet room which is pissing me off.

Also, this Internet is slower than molasses through a prostate with cancer…

Moms getting me a 360 for my birthday! Of course i might have told her that is was only 120$…which is true for some of them, but not the one i want B^U. The ole' foot in the door technique…
or maybe just being a sneaky.

Well anyways i'm excited. I'm getting my mom a bird & cage for her birthday, i'm thinking two parakeets or a lovebird.

I'm not sure about Ozone, but most Aussies I know (including myself) sound more British than pure rural country bogans.

EDIT: Continuing off the accent discussions btw. (I've had a busy day…)

So I went and checked out Youtube videos for the old Sega arcade game Afterburner and was amazed… I then checked out other videos for Sega's other arcade classics Space Harrier, Thunder blade and Galaxy Force II. What amazed me was the amount of sprites used to simulate the 3D effects in those games. Only if the scenery slowed down would you notice the huge amount of sprite graphics used… Yikes! And that's not counting all the "enemy" sprites you had to concentrate on!

Galaxy Force II looked amazing in its day. Too bad it cost me $1.50 to play it… :(

oh man. i have a massive head cold. i'm supposed to run 5 miles today. and i'm going to give it the old college try, but this sucks.

It came on suddenly on wednesday, first as a scratchy throat, so i threw back a couple of glasses of OJ, and lots of water. went to bed, and it got worse over night, but when i woke up it, my stuffy nose and scratchy throat went away in almost 45 minutes. so i went to my actual job, and came home. woke up, and my head is stuffed with more snot than i seem to be able to blow out.

le sigh. i hope this is the worst it gets. the problem is i'm on social healthcare, so it'll take me a week to get a doctors appointment. the only way to see a doctor right away is to go to the emergency room….and that will only take away from people with actual emergencies..

Me too, I blame Skoolmunkee, she started it all!

Haha, actually I am feeling a lot better. It has backed down to a pretty normal cold, but I do seem to be more tired than usual. I think this will be a "stay in and take naps" weekend.

So this chick offered to color my comic and seemed pretty enthusiastic for the first few messages, but now i haven't heard back from her in almost a week. I don't want to seem pushy by messaging her but i guess i have no choice.

Also i wonder if i should find it ironic that playing pokemon is keeping me from doing my pokemon comic…
