Rant, Moan and Rave - 2010 edition
My friend likes my art because I tend too brag on what a good manga artist I am
and so he asked me to help him draw,but he can't draw that well, and no matter what i do he just can't seem too get it right,now granted he does get one good one every once in a while but that's it,and he blames me for it,what do you guys think?

well, how are you teaching him? knowing how to do something and teaching it are two different things.
That is the problem I showed him a drawing and told him to try his best to draw it,we went over that same dwawing the whole week,that failed,I tried getting him one of those how to draw manga books it didn't work(plus everyone knows those things suck,there goes 10 bucks)I tried teaching him human anatomy that didn't work,I even tried,workiing on little details one by one……….-__-:mad:

well, if he keeps at it those things might sink in in time. he might just need to become comfortable with it on his own first. it can make people nervous when they know someone will be judging what they do. maby just give him the tidbits and pointers and let him do with them as he pleases. also, is he actually passionate about art? if not then you really cant force it on someone. but if you showed him all these things and explained it well, then that's really all you can do. the rest is for him to figure out.

in other news…it's getting to be new tattoo time again. i'm really itchin for some new ink. i dont have alot of money so i have to keep it small. me and my brother were thinking of getting little resident eye men tattoes, so that might be what i do.
was also thinking i'd like a cool old judge dredd comic cover as a half sleeve, that or one of the bisley lobo covers, probably this one: since it was the first lobo comic i ever read. opened a whole now door for me.
also really really wanna get bones tattoed, probably on my back, like he's "watchin my back". also wanna get a few other characters i made. fuck! so many tat's so little time!
stupid internet. it was down from yesterday to an hour ago. and I'm supposed to be doing something right now.
and I played runescape with a friend all day today. It was great. TERRIBLE but great.
and there's still the freaking water in the freaking basement, BUT, there's less now so that's good.

Wow… my Tree of Tranquility game is near the end of its first year. I had my character marry a really shy seamstress (but her jailbait looking sister says she's a "doormat" whatever that means…)… I've got eight chickens… Leet, Skullbie, Peipei, Same, Kroatz, Ironscarf, PPeep (Product Placement has too many letters) and PitFace (good name for a fighting chicken… too bad the chickens in this game don't fight). Also got two cows, two sheep, a goat and a horse. When I expand the barn I'll name the ostrich I get "OzoneOcean" since those things apparently run faster than horses and I can make food out of their eggs. And correction on that monkey… it really IS a monkey, and the large animal I was afraid I'd meet was actually a mama BEAR… So if I can befriend it, Skoolmunkee will become a part of the farm. :)
On second thought… I'll just buy a second horse and call him OzoneOcean. I don't think I want to know what kind of eggs an ostrich of that name will lay… O_O

Well… I could get a duck, but I'm not at that point in the game yet. And besides… duck eggs are kinda useless unless I make mayo out of them and I don't like useless stuff taking up the limited space in my coop. :)
*and worse… I can't cook them either. Speaking of which… I think I'll go head to an oriental restaraunt and order some roast duck(drenched in beer or strong liquor) for lunch. :)
Oh man, inking marathon. All I've been doing is inking while listening to podcasts and then reading comics while downloading more podcasts… Page 8 is all inked, page 9 is done about 10-15% I think. RACING AGAINST THE TIME!
I want the entire thing inked, colored and lettered on the 8th, cause that's when my buffer ends. I guess I should go to bed then and rest well… more work awaits!

I could just go for a cintiq but I heard those scratch easy… My intuos 3 I could use as a cutting board and it wouldnt scratch… How much is a brand spaning new cintiq these days?
I could just go for a cintiq but I heard those scratch easyThey don't reeeeaaaly… Their anti-glare coating scratches. It's like a glaze of some sort. You can reduce the problem by polishing it right down with distilled water and a cloth, but it takes a LOT of work- the actual surface isn't scratched at all though, so it is fixable.
I bought a $30 screen protector for mine and that works waaay better.- much nicer feel to the surface and the pen doesn't damage it at all.
They've just bought out a new model of Cintiq. It has a different button setup. Whoop-de-do. What would've made them better is if the new ones had some flash memory in them or something. That would make a cool little solution for backing up your artwork on the go- like when you press one of the buttons it auto-saves a copy of your work to some special back-up flash or something.
*gurhgh* I hate Icelandic sun, so cold outside yet it shines like there is no tomorrow. And since my windows lack curtains at the top, the sun always shines in my face in the morning. I think I might be burnin', wait lemme check that one out.
