Oh, and I got scared shitless last night when I was woken by the sound of some kind of scurrying under the floor boards. I thought I was imagining it, and lay back down and thne it started up again. I thought rationally to myself saying: "Its a rat, its a rat, its nothing more then a rat." But as I am in a dark room, in a creepy old house, new thoughts come in going: "HOLYSHIT, ITS A MONSTER. GTFO OF THERE."
At least it isn't a skunk like I have occasionally staying under the house. She likes to remind the wife and I about her residence once a month. That's probably when she and the local hunting cat see each other. This cat is a true stalker, he lurks and runs.
Animals love my backyard. They've built little special holes in the fence for easy access and holes in the house's foundation to get in and out. It's a two hole entranceway so it looks like an "in" and "out" door. The wife and I joke about the animal hotel under the house.

My new super cheapo lawn mower just sucks down gas. I miss my self-propelled top of the line mower. But after 14 years of faithful service it gave it up last year. My neighbors have each been through 3 or 4 mowers in the same time so I will be grateful and hope this one will last nearly as long. But since it's a push mower and I am not getting any younger, the question now is; will I last as long? lol!
this is definitely granpa tryin to give me his opinion on on my future in custom wall mirrors, but does he dig custom wall mirrors or does he not dig custom wall mirrors?

holy crap - lookin aroun the library of google sketchup models, i found a model of the bar where i first met my lovely wife/superior officer! this is not like a famous place but nowhere, hicksville, so it made me laugh to see it there

I've got that problem too, except animals love my roof and celler. The roof is the current residence of two large Brush-tail possums and a family of smaller Ring-tail possums, while the celler is home to large amounts of rats, mice and one time my brother.
We tried blocking up the Possum entrances into the roof with wire, ended up thaty 1 in the morning, there was an angry tantrum from a possum on the roof and she had ripped out all the wire to get back into her den…
10 AM to 2 PM.
Stacking wood.
Pain.

Issues: the Baskin Robbins flavors of mentality
Wow… thanks to the price of oil going up my power bill went up another $20 this month. So now I'm paying nearly $200 a month for power despite using just a refrigerator, a TV, an Xbox, a computer and couple of electric fans and lights. Something about the fuel recovery charge on the bill… if not for this charge I'd be paying a lot less for power. And now the power company is planning on raising the rates again. Ugh…

I guess when the new site comes up I'll post another comic along with Magiversity and Astronomalies… maybe… It's about this poor guy who is trying to get the attention of this pretty girl, but at the same time trying to avoid being killed by the pretty girl's adopted sister who happens to be murderous and loves her sister a LITTLE TOO MUCH (yeah… creepy enough already even though they're not biologically related). Kinda like how the Coyote keeps using plans and gadgets to get the RoadRunner. Her name? Jan D. Rei :)
Of course if I'm bored enough I'd make an LCD fighting game where the characters pull their arms and legs off and throw them at their opponent, then instantly regrow them to do it all over again. :)

Home on my own today, and feeling very sick and tired. I really just want to go to sleep, but uuugghhhh, I feel like a crippled walrus trying to haul itself up an arctic beach at the moment, so I think I'll colour some comics for the time being…

It's cool and raining, and as we all know, dog hair undergoes this strange chemical reaction when exposed to water and gives off that clasic "wet dog" smell, except… my dog hasn't been outside yet this morning… HOW?!

I do have an older coworker who looks at girls like that. I have to nudge him when we're at the subcommand office in the morning when he starts leering at the high school girls passing by (thank god it's summer and no one's swimming in the public pool across the street in the morning).
As for the wet dog smell… lots of moisture in the air? Usually happens when it's raining a lot, I think. Sometimes I wish I had a dog, but the last three dogs I befriended died horribly at some point afterwards, the last one being shot to death by poachers (because she and her pack were scaring away the deer inside the federally owned jungle that no one's supposed to be hunting in anyway).

wow, your co-worker is rather creepy, but it's not uncommon, sadly.
Far too many times I've walked down the street to go to the local art shop or to a take away joint and some tool has wolf-whistled from their car. It's rather prevelent where I am too, possibly because the town is mostly made up of inbred hicks and bogans, or because most of the girls that live there are little prostitutes anyway and they think it's normal.
I was thinking it must be something in the air, anyway, he went outside, and now I won't allow him back inside because he stinks and he's now watching me forlornly from the steps outside the front door. No, you smelly bastard, you're not coming back inside to spread your smelly filth around the house!

My friend (who currently lives in another state) keeps telling me she's depressed and doesn't want to talk, which I can respect. Then she doesn't talk to me for a few days, posts a suicide note on tumblr, doesn't respond to me after the note… then I see that she's been on xbox live and twitter talking to people all day. She finally responds with "oh, didn't know you'd be upset if I didn't respond to you" and gets mad that I'm mad at her because she has depression and therefore has a free pass to be completely unreasonable towards whoever she chooses and be normal to everyone else. I've known her since middle school and I've always understood her condition but this random suicide note thing is getting ridiculous…. She's done this three times this month. A girl I did cheerleading with killed herself in April so I'm really scared of something happening, but then my friend shrugs all my concerns off like they're nothing… or that they're annoying her. She refuses help and I feel like she's doing this in reaction to my own success lately. Like she's trying to make me worry about her so she has control over me.
I feel like such a jerk, but there's only so much I can do or take. ) :

And I have both a friend and a Brother who is just like the girl you're describing. Both suffer from depression, both believe that gives them to right to not take note of what anyone else is feeling and act dickish to all and the friend also talks about how he's going to "commit suicide because no one cares." In fact, the depressed friend likes to run to me when he has problems, and then go away spreading rumours about me and then thinks its alright…
I know how you feel, it's very frustrating and sometimes really worrying, but don't let it get you down too. All you can do is listen, and tell her your concerns, which you have done. And heeey, this is the rant thread, ranting is what it's made for! :)

First day at the beach today. : ) It was great - warm weather, not too sunny, no mosquitoes(although lots of horse flies), plenty of waves. The water felt as if the ice had only just melted, though. Freezing! Ridiculously cold water is all part of a Manitoba summer, though.

Had to go right off to work afterwards, where our air conditioning isn't really working. It's supposed to be like 40 degrees C with the humidity tomorrow, so I sure hope it decides to work.
We got in a new line of dog/cat food, and I'm in love with it. It's grain-free and has chicken-free formulas so it's good for my poor allergic doggy, it's all Canadian-made and Canadian ingredients, all free range, no preservatives, and so on. I brought home a little trial bag for my dog, who is usually very fussy, and he LOVED it. Very happy about that.

So I entered a contest for Kiseki Magazine and in the last month (the judging portion of the contest) their website has exploded and they're barely responding to questions on their deviantart group. They're supposed to post the winners today (they said 31st June 2011 but unless the rhyme is wrong or Australia has an extra day in the month…) I wonder if they'll actually announce them. : <
As soon as you said that, I had to check because I wasn't sure, no, we do not have an extra day here… But DD asked me if I wanted to upload my comic on the 31st of June when I was updating so…
Anyway, I had to check my iPhone calander, my regular calander and google, tomorrow is indeed the 1st of July, not the 31st of June.
…I just wasted five minutes of my life checking that! Hahah!
I like that it was totally feasible enough for Australia to have an extra day though. I think if you told people that Australia has an extra day like it was a fact, most people would either believe you or check to see if it's true, because it doesn't sound false enough to be TOTALLY made up. : B

I've passed off complete lies to foreigners about Australia, and they've belived it.
Told an English girl there were Drop Bears once, ambush predators waiting in the trees to jump down and attack people. She didn't want to leave the house, afterwards.

I think I know the guy you're talking about, is it ET? (Andrew Ettinghouse–something…) or Zeb Hogan the American one? Animal planet and the Discovery Channel are the freakin' BOMB. They need to show more "The Jeff Corwin Experience" on Animal Planet, he was hectic. :)
And you'd be surprised. Kangaroos are in plague proportion here, and lots of farmers, particularly out west, shoot or hunt them because they compete with stock for pasture and ruin fences. But it is pretty sick. I don't mind them shooting, I can understand why they do it, if it's quick and painless, that's fine, but when its something like an arrow or poison where the animal will take a long time to die and suffer, then it's crossing the line and not acceptable.
People don't really care about shooting roos.
But if it was Koalas, then people would have something to say about it.
