It's called urban renewel, tyhet're trying to asdd a touch of class to the area.

Problem with that is sometimes it takes a few decades to renew anything past a bunch of vacant lots.  Watts, Newark took twenty-40 years to renew after their riots.

But then Detroit and the South Bronx look like that too but not because of riots.

These things never end well and usually not until you start shooting looters.  Sadly most follow Napoleon's example in quelling mobs "a whiff of grapeshot"

This is my final week in the US! Currently staying in the humid city of New Orleans with Hyena Hell and her BF Marek. It's the greenest place I've been in the States so far. Nice and quiet too! It's so lovely not to have a constant massive accoustic assult wherever you are. the heat is strong, but much like what I'm used to at home in the summer anyway. And it's nicer to have this heat in NOLA than in NY, the people are friendlier too.

Heh… if I could, I'd invite Ozone Ocean over here.  Much closer to Australia than CONUS (CONtinental United States).  However, my house needs lots of fixing for one.  And most of the entertainment would be the tourist spots, beach parties (with lots of grilling and swimming… and… watching…  yeah), and fishing.  :)

@Leet
He didn't visit me either.  I crossed state lines to meet this guy.  You could have crossed the sound.  a little motor boat – like in SPLASH   :-)
@Oz
quiet and green, huh?  well if THAT's what you were looking for, you Should have taken a chance on the burbs.

Yes! I should have. Unfortunately I was a bit restricted with Bianka with me. She wanted to see more of the sites in the city, so we were running around back and fourth together all over the place with barely a rest in between. It was pretty hectic really with not a moment's respite. Lots of fun, but SO busy all over the place in Manhattan and Brooklyn mainly. And we still missed out on so much! If we had more time there then home visits are a certainty!

New Orleans is a much, much slower place. But SO very meltingly hot!

I would invite you round my neck of the woods, but I got a wedding to go to this weekend in St. Louis. Where, evidently, it is hot and humid right now.

Bianka traveled with me to the US from Aus. She was my Pinky model during comic con.I'll post some pics here and on the DD Facebook page when I get back! She looked perfect!
She's my buddy, a fellow artist and art model. Not my gf. :)
She went back on Sunday. Same day I was meant to fly out to NOLA. But I missed my plane by 30 seconds and they wouldn't bend… (I was exactly 30 minutes early, instead of 31 minutes… Bloody f***ing wankers!), anyway, MANY delays and much waiting and I eventually got there the next day.

Oz has somehow survived the heat, my unruly dogs, our constant drinking and smoking, and Wal-mart! What a champ!

Bugger, typing this on my phone is a pain :(

Anyway, Hyena and Marek are great and live in paradise. Last night I learned how to play Go in cafe zots. Today I try Gumbo! Not sure what kind yet, but I will!

Once oz tries gumbo he won't be returning to Aus.  That's what I loved about my trip to Nawlins back in the day and I went with a bunch of sweaty, loud, drunken tankers as opposed to a pretty gal, her bf and a bunch of dogs.
Hmmm gumbo.

It's either my screen or the colors on these forums.  I'm on my third pair of sunglasses… the other two got melted by the intense colors.  X_X

it's funny cause his avatar is…

So…I'm feeling like shit because I was trying to get off my allergy medication so I wouldn't depend on it during the school year, and needless to say, my plan failed ridiculously.
So now I have to wait for the stupid things to kick in, taking up another…two or three days…

New Orleans is a lie.
It doesn't really exist, just like the moon and Belgium.
Ask anyone!
