One thing I believe they have in common is not being able to see viewer stats, but since I don't have a comic there, I could easily be wrong about that.

Yeah it's like as soon as Weatherby and Filthy are unbanned other people that were once rational flip out.
Like their very presence spreads retardism or something :P

HA! Calling this place "TD" rather than "DD"? I dnno, I try and stay out of corproate "things" generally… I was becoming a bit of a fanboi for Android (phones, tablets) for a while till I reeled it in: a phone is a phone is a phone… As long as it does what you want who cares?

Wow! Exactly like the situation that developed in the old TD then? I'm sorry that's messing things up a little over there.
We always thought what happened in the TD was just a toxic atmosphere, now this has me thinking that there was a definite root cause for it… Asside from me being a crappy admin/mod in there of course.

When i rolled up into the Old TD, i just thought that's what that subforum was for. just being toxic and stupid. except for the over 18 share thread.

Yeaaahh… no. Hahaha! Stupid yes, but not toxic. That was mainly my fault for not having the balls to ban the the people that made it that way.

That's what happens- people start a vibe that's bad, you just let it go, or make it worse by trying to control it inefectually (like I did), and pretty soon that's what defines the place, so new people don't know any different and then it's impossible to change.

Yeah it really is exactly like TD used to be. I actually don't mind their toxic nature. I just don't like how it seems to spread. In small doses it's kinda funny and unique.

Well, Filthy/Tater is permabanned there now too it seems. And everything is already going back to normal. That's so strange!!!

The spreading is the worst part. Congrats on the mod there for having the balls to ban and ban well and early though :)
Pruning like that is the only way to fix things. Thank goodness they didn't let it go on too long because then it really is almost impossible to reverse.
The other half of that team isn't quite as bad on his own…

a tip to those editing a post with a quote – just show yourself right into the html room, and don't tarry.

Most of the time when I do quotes now I just start with a blank reply and copy-paste the text through notepad to strip any formatting, and put bbcode quote tags around it. I believe that also lets me go back and edit it without any problems too.

As long as you start your reply above or bellow the indent, you can put a whole bunch or quotes in without error, see…

Editing afterwards however seems to remove all formatting from these sorts of multi quotes, so get it right first time of prepare for bother.

As it is I forget to turn it off as it's just highlighted and have to relearn how to use it

This discovery is so strange that it deserves it's own post. Since I invented the word Robofemoid every reference to it on the web will be to my own webcomic.

Every once in a great while I google it. There was a very favorable review on a German language action figure site and now it turns out it has a Facebook Fan page… in Korean!

That's scary.

After going back and editing that to put in an internal DD link it turned to absoloute shiz-water!

Hidden post, belended quotes, all sorts of crap! Only worked again when I took out the link AND took off the "h t t P" etc from the start of the innactive url.

The editor insists on stripping out the http://www.drunkduck.com portion over and over again. I haven't posted with links in the forums lately, but for the past several days I've been using internal links in the author notes. A dozen times is an exaggeration, it's probably only three times.

Okay. I am thinking about trying to salvage some stuff here.

So, I guess I'll have to get google Chrome… and ugh… I remember looking at the "html editor" or whatever. It's very complicated to me *_*

Or at least it looks so time consuming.

Not to mention I have to reupload all my Prologue archive. Because of the jpeg crap -_-

EDIT: Oh and did I break DD earlier twice? Or was that just coincidence. I dicided to start over on my favorites list and was removing them all. When I'd push the "x" it'd ask if I was sure. I said yes and noticed I could click several "X"s before the site refreshed and they all took.

So I kept doing that then the site finally 502 errored and I couldn't access DD for a good while :P

I came back repeated and it all did it again.

Well I'm glad to see you back JNP. :] I appreciate the struggle you're having! Greyman has not logged in for a year.

It's a shame about the images… they were working on getting those fixed, and supposedly got the 200 most popular comics done. They were meant to put in a feature where oz and I could tell it to do that on-demand but… that didn't get done. :[ I don't see anything in our admin panel for it. Soooo much went wrong at the changeover.

Those 502s/504s I have no explanation for, but Lawrence gets an alert when it happens and so he resets the server. I haven't seen any last longer than 10 minutes. I think it's because there's coding stuff they weren't able to optimize. Hopefully it's not one of those 'the longer it goes on, the worse it gets' things. And uh… I guess none of that means it couldn't have been you…

Dawww…. Greyman hasn't been online for a year?! He was my favorite commenter! I even made an Off Hours page in dedication to him. So… ummm, can you give out his email? :P Probably not. I really would like to contact him though. It's so much easier to maintain contact with other authors than just the readers.

Okay, so I have the site stuff figured out. I just need to add buttons I guess. I'll do that later on. At least it's not all white and default.

It wasn't so hard to use once I saw you just put the links in for images. It's really annoying we can't do more with the boarder that goes around the comic. Like put an image there. And put a boarder around that. The colors weren't so bad once I saw you had a color mixer. As you can tell last time I took 1 look and just left in disgust. But really, this is such a poor system for making your own web designs. Wowio should be ashamed.
