I thank God for giving me intellect. But not too much to the point where it blinds me with arrogance.

But then again it can be argued that there is no relation between arrogance and intellect because there are always arrogant people regardless of their level of intellect.

Intellect though, can be a motivation though for arrogance. As well as other things like physical beauty or strength or material possessions.

If so… 68 pencilled, 54 inked, 46 colored, 50 printed
So not a good year comics wise, but still better by a large margin than 2009 *(which had… umm… 6 pencilled, 8 inked, 9 colored, 14 completed, 129 printed! (Din Krakatau collection)

On the other hand 2008 was and still remains my best comics year… 128 pencilled, 52 inked, 129 colored, 129 completed, 0 printed. (parts of book were only pencilled whereas one page was assembled from three different panels cause I needed more room to finish the final "diary entry" heh)

I wonder if anyone else goes for these crazy stats, haha.

Since you mentioned these crazy stats, I've been doing some figuring of my own involving drawings.

This last year, I drew about 132 Negligence comics (185 if I count the remade versions of the first fifty or so) plus 16 miscellaneous pieces for the same comic, 39 pages for another comic I haven't released yet, a filler page for Cubicle (I don't draw that comic), six pages for a Malefic Tales story, six pages for an anthology story, and at least 15 or so unrelated drawings (fan art, show pieces, and what-not).

In total, that's 268 things I drew in 2010, and that's not factoring some of the animation stuff I've been working on in the last three months or so. No wonder my tablet is so damn scratched.

That's a pretty good year then.

Wait… if I was to add the drawings from all the years…

That reminds me, 2009 had additional 39 pages of comics (pencilled and inked, b/w so no color) for a project that I stopped working on (I have decided that the topic requires better art and so it's been put on the backburner… I want this one to look goddamn amazing and I need to brush up my artstyle before I do so, so other projects come first)

- - -

Another day of 2 pages inked. Slow and steady, moving forward. 22 inked, 16 to go.
Max 8 days and I start coloring!

So my comics tracking info says delivered but i do not have them. Argh i hate UPS. Arrrrrgh SADNESS.

Also when i ask for a writer i always get asked to do these two comic types several times;
1. horror
2. Cop/detective thing.

Are these popular now or something? I didn't think my style gave off those vibes at all.

I was supposed to leave for Germany today, but that's not going to happen now. I had to shave my beard off this morning and go to work, and there was sadness throughout the land
My stache is back in full swing though, and as evidence I was asked to quote the regulation on mustaches by three different people today.
By exploiting a couponing loophole I also picked up numerous boxes of this Thai noodles that you microwave, for 3 dollars.

Its really cool to have met someone who can be a bad guy for MAG-ISA. I mean… all his arguments that combine a blend of atheism, transhumanism, satanism, nihilism, existentialism, eugenics, socialism, social darwinism, and pure insanity…

Its like I've struck a pot of gold.

Now to work on char designs… :)

Congratulations! Make others suffer with your singing, it is the best way to ring in another year.

I can't speak for others, but I really like those genres. Specially when they get mixed. From what I've read of your comics though, I don't get that vibe from them. Remotely.

So, I decided to take school seriously from now on. As well as my comics. So I won't be adding any pages to DD anymore for a long time, except maybe the journal comic i started. I'll finish the storyboards, the story, the conversations and all that stuff first before I start making the actual art. I do have a preview for my next project though…

Here.

——vildebeasts don't live in ze fater land.——

my wife was so sick last night. i don't know what her temperature was, but she had a fever. (we lost our thermo meter) but i could feel it thru the blankets.i gave her some nyquil, and made sure she had some fresh water, before going up to bed. when i woke up, it felt cold in the room, and i felt my wife. she was chilly cold…she didn't move when i touched her, so i checked her pulse and couldn't find one! i freaked out and started shaking her, and then she woke up. i think i just felt in the wrong place.

at least she isn't sick anymore…

But der are plenty on de veldt!
in Seth Afrika!

…Initially I thought you were doing a boer accent 'causes that how they say "wildebeest"…
I love Boer South Africans, they make Aussies sound gentile by comparison. :)

<-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_->

Soooo many e-mails to respond too… and soooo much to do! T_T
Skool and I have to prepare for our special Quackcast recording dot dot dot

And it's STILL hot and humid… I'm just not a warm weather guy. :(

But I'm currently enjoying Daria online while I draw! That was such a great show, it's nice to watch the early seasons again before it got all emo and shit with that BF character Tom. UGH!

I really hate it when someone I haven't seen in fifteen years shows up in a dream spouting enigmatic nonsense.

Does it mean something or is it my subconscious playing jokes? If I believed in telepathic communication between people during dreaming it would make sense as it is so much like this person. Otherwise it's just annoying. But that debate between my sister, brother, father and Obama was fun to listen to. So much fun I made sure I was not in the room where it happened and just listened to the alternating yelling and cheering from next door.

—wildebeasts watching Boers massacre Zulus—-

I almost feel alive again and then I had to start watching the HBO series The Pacific Damn those scenes on the 'canal were intense. Knocked me for a loop again.
But I got a box of accessories I ordered after Christmas for a story I just started that was mailed after other orders I made before Christmas. I love watching the tracking and seeing how slow UPS can be compared to Fed Ex and the USPS. Tracking the packages is like I'm watching their teams race on NASCAR.

No, it means demons are in your brain!
…In Kyu's universe.
Put on your celestial headband and saintly legwarmers and get some exorcize!

My humour is so dorky.

That's today! Happy Birthday! Is that JD going before, after, during the karaoke?

So Happy 2011 everyones! I spent New Year's away from home, just getting back yesterday, and so just now saw that the thread includes wildebeests (and correctly spelled, too :) ). How awesome — Ironscarf goes down in DD history for naturalizing the moan and groan (and rave).

My 2011 resolution: yet again, patience and more patience, with everyone and particularly myself. And not to freak when I fail at it cuz I most likely will — maybe just not as much. The nice thing about the start of this year compared to some of the others is that the sensation of an invisible and weighty clock ticking away is dissipating, and I'm back to loving the cliched Desiderata: " … And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should".

So, I'm looking to do what I can, the best I can, when I can, keeping in mind it's not a competition with anyone, not even myself.

—wildebeests rolling eyes

all the above is phooey if/when I play another mafia game

All of the above.

Going to the Steakhouse then the pub. No doubt me and Sharky will be roped into doing re version of Barbie girl.

"Barbie girls a slut she takes it up the…" yeah I guess you can get the idea from that snippet. Karaoke in a biker bar is hilarious.

Oh and what the hell is the wildebeest thing all about? never got it.

Oh and what the hell is the wildebeest thing all about? never got it.
THIS question is of historical importance and is answered thusly:

On Sep 25,`10 at 7:53pm
Look at those three dashes. Everybody puts three dashes but I have no idea what that means. I'm assuming it's a kind of page break, "here's a new thought" type of thing but how am I supposed to know? Is it written down anywhere? For all I know it means "look at me, I'm a gay wildebeast" yet here I am, happily typing it out.
and then on Sep 26,`10 at 11:24pm
For all I know it means "look at me, I'm a gay wildebeast" yet here I am, happily typing it out.
From now on, I've resolved, that is exactly the manner in which I'll read those three dashes.

I don't even care what they're supposed to mean, from now on they're gay wildebeest forever

A classic case of Roberts' Rules "motioned, seconded, and carried"
