Up at half five in the AM doing art.. If I fail tomorrow its unemployment and a debt of £1359.

Here

One of my pieces.

@Ironscarf. Thats horrible. What wass your job?

So to keep myself awake I phoned a drugdealer asking if he had Charlie Sheen. Apparently… he does.
Said he tried it. I thought if you tried it you died but according to him you just talk shit for hours into a webcam and look for every local media team and photographer exclaiming you have tiger blood.

@Ironscarf Ugh! Lay off! I hope it's only a door to a new opportunity opening.

Damn, I feel awful as if the whole pain of the world is a dagger into my chest. What are we doing in this handbasket and why is it getting so much hotter?

I think part of the problem is that it's a rather prevalent mood, at least in my circle. Hard to feel up when everyone's feeling down. And the weather hasn't helped.

This is what happens when you snort coke.
You're really supposed to drink it. ;)

Depressing seasons and trying times for quite a few people here it looks like! Not cool.
I really hope Ironscarf gets a new job. In his case I think his work was local government related…. the conservative government there is forcing crazy austerity measures on government run services because of ideas imported from the US about "small government" and it somehow being magically better.

Yeah, like "downsizing" was supposed to be magically better for business in the 90's but ended up gutting them of most of their best talent and leaving them top-heavy with unfirable useless executives who were suddenly exposed for the pantsless loons they were. Lotta companies never really recovered because of that fad.

As in the downsizing fad years- British government and local government run services would run far, far better if they just got rid of those on the top instead and let the people in the middle and the bottom get ON with things.
-i.e. as in companies like Google who give all their working engineers high status… they tend to run really pretty well.

Ozone was almost right, but I worked for central government, not local - the effect is the same though: everybody who didn't go to Eton is out on their ear.

It wasn't a bad job working for the Valuation Office: I got to travel around London, assessing every kind of business related property and measuring it with a laser gun, so the desk jockeys could argue over how much rates they should be paying. I had some hilarious encounters over 18 years doing that - most of all, I'm really gonna miss that laser gun. :(

With my age and experience, unless the climate changes drastically, the prospects of future employment do not look good. I'll have to eke out a living selling knobs on Ebay - visit my online shop to view my full range of specialist and antique knobs etc etc.

Ah, central government!

Too bad the days of the 10 bob pom are over- when there was subsidised emigration to Australia… You could probably find yourself a super high paying job in the mining industry (or a related one, they're allll related to it here) without too much trouble.
If money was my thing I'd try for one… but I'm happy living in the comfortable, temperate city down here. I've no wish to be stuck in one of those stinking hot hell-hole northern towns doing dangerous work even if it is only two or four weeks at a time for 200K a year.

Anyway, I DO hoe you find something better than fiddling with your old knobs :(

Man! They couldn't let you keep the laser gun as some kind of consolation prize? Those bastards.

So age, experience — you left out talent. Along with with your knobs, maybe you could eBay caricature drawing ?

So, where I live, March means flooding.

This happens every year, yet people are still super surprised when it does. WE ALL EITHER LIVE ON AN ISLAND, ON A RIVER, OR A LAKE, ALL OF WHICH ARE DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN. IT'S GOING TO FLOOD, IT'S GOING TO CREST WITH THE TIDE, AND THEN IT'S GOING TO GO AWAY.

Sit back and enjoy all the ducks. They're pretty adorable this time of year.

Been playing pokeyman all day ehe. Also doing community service which blows, but i finished up my last day.

I got huge sunburns on both my arms. Seriously it looks so funny because i was wearing a 3/4 sleeve shirt and gloves, so just the exposed part is bright red. BURNS OF MIGHTY BATTLES WITH ROADSIDE WEEDS

That one is more the 'realistic depiction with added daft props' technique. It works because you just know Ozoneocean either owns that pipe and that hat, or is bidding on them as we speak!

Did you know. We got black and white a day before?
I dismissed it as crap and returned it.

I hear theres money from vlogging on youtube. Then again theres money in whoring yourself out as well. Only difference is that with youtube its visible to bazillions of people. Better to go with whoring your self out. Your significant other will most likely mind this less.

I had a date last night. The second in a week's time. This is exceptional- I usually only get to go on one date every other month. With being emotionally and socially available both to my best friend, and his ex-girlfriend- as well as the guy that catalyzed it all by trying to seduce her- I've had social engagement every night this week. This is far more social time than I know what to do with…

Needless to say, it's also been one of my least productive weeks…

—————
I had an interesting moment today that's making me rethink my business plan. I get restless easily, so I'd been planning on having several ongoing projects and then bundling them all into an anthology- a quick way to sate my need to work on diverse things so I wouldn't get bored with any particular project (I have 15 weeks worth of updates for a Sci Fi project ready to go, have a few weeks of an x-rated project, and notes and sketches on more projects than you could shake a stick at- with the script for a 200 page novel all but ready to go).

The realization was that I need more give and take with my audience- more gratification from releasing a project. My plan was to do nominal marketing, but mostly focus on indulging in the creative process. I'm thinking that it might be better to go a more traditional approach- have a dominant project, with a week off now and then to work on a side project (for example, holding onto the Sci Fi project until I had 300 or so pages so that when it was released I could do heavy marketing- and if that never happens, my kids'll have fodder for a Previously Unpublished! anthology some day…).

—————-
On a slightly related note- I finally figured out a counterpart for FAIL. They're a hackivist group loosely known as the Willingly Informed Network. I think it's terribly ham fisted, but everyone I've asked for an opinion has chuckled.

I think I've gotten myself into an uncomfortable social situation. :\

I like to spend most of my spare time at school in the art room - and since I only have three classes, one of which is art, that's quite a lot of time. A girl who I'm not really friends with but who I've known and been friendly with since kindergarten spends quite a bit of time in there as well. Since I've known her so long, it would seem rude not to sit with her, which I'm fine with.
The unfortunate part is that the group of guys she hangs around with, who also spend a lot of time in the art room, are very weird. But when that one girl isn't there, it seems like it would be rude not to sit with them. So I'm stuck spending a lot of time with these people.
I'm pretty sure they're not used to having girls around, either, because they were doing an awful lot of showing off. D:

I never would have thought that bunnies were so messy. Not dirty, she just likes to throw everything around. I put her cage back in order about 3 times a day, and she rapidly takes everything and flips it upside-down. The funniest part is that I've finally trained her to always use her litterbox, but she keeps flipping it over.
On the plus side, I've found that if I flip her little house upside down(it can be used either way) it seems to trick her into thinking she's already done it, and she leaves it alone. Accomplishment for the day: I have outsmarted a rabbit.

Maybe the same psychology you used on the rabbit would work on those guys too?
Flip a few things over before they arrive and they might think they've already done their showing off?

I'm seeing everything in a new light now I'm jobless, but I have to keep switching the light off to save money. I'm going to simplify the style of my comic in line with current austerity measures; there will be no more leisurely painting, from now on it's all sparse lines.

@ Katch. Scanners have stupid plastic cogs and weak electric motors to power them. Very cheap mechanical stuff…it tends not to last. Probably the drive belt is slipping.[

@Ayes, I whished you grace already, but I wish you more now! :)
much more! ^^

I'd love to see how that works out. BTW, Emily England gets a short mention in the Quackcast that's out on Tuesday!
