I don't know how much I have lost, at present I cannot check the status of the hard drive but my external hard drive doesn't want to work with my wives laptop.
I don't have any other form of back up so I'm a bit concerned, although I think there is a good chance my hard drive is okay as I think the problem is the motherboard.
Sorry to hear. Hopefully it is the mobo, in which case your hard drive will be perfectly fine when transferred to a new computer. However, if when you start up and hear a whirring/clicking/grinding sound, that might be bad news…
And to contribute something to the topic, here in the US, there was a recent shooting in AZ. The event is tragic, but everyone is jumping to conclusions claiming there were political motivations behind it. That's just because a federal judge was among the people killed. Seriously? So the other five people are just unfortunate victims because the whole reason for killing people was a political motivation? Political motivation doesn't always equal crazy. Americans can be very blind sometimes.
